      "American looking people"
Hey buddy please tell me what that means, I didn't know American people had a certain look.
What an ignorant comment to make.
And based on your premise you were cheering for Georgia because the distinct look they had were features of white skin with the exception of the bi-racial kid. (Oddly enough, most of the roster on team Hawaii had a darker complexion than him)
So what you were cheering for was a team who you felt represented America and by your definition of that is everyone who has "white features."
Do not blame someone who has no control over sex or race as a way to discriminate.
And as was mentioned, Puerto Rico is a US territory not a state. As is Guam, the Mariana islands, American Samoa and US Virgin Islands.
