Really looking forward to hearing your thoughts about driving the finished product. I've had two of these. One was the Flux Porsche. The other was the brushed BMW, converted to brushless with a full aluminum and carbon fiber upgrade all around. I didn't keep either one for very long and I've been running RS4s for over 20 years.
I'm really looking forward to seeing the type of paint job you put on that. you've got a lot of painting talent and skills it's just unbelievable what you can do!
Sweet!! The Porsche is going to look cool, can't wait to to see your paint job. I have been using your tips and ideas on painting, I am getting better at it.. Even got some compliments on last paint job, thanks to you. I let them know we're I got the tips and ideas from.
Looking Good Chris < wondering why Reed isn't in this build off , he must be a busy guy now or something .. and the score and snap doesn't work here unless I were to put the body in the fridgerator for a bit first..lol
I just recently got a hpi rs4-2 nitro don’t know where to get parts for it other then eBay and I might need to get a new battery pack for it because the 4AA pack won’t power the servo not sure what size battery to put in to replace tho
Diggin your choice of car Brother, "a Russian drug dealer haha" too much! As always, another wicked video, in depth explanations & can't wait to see the next video in your series.
I love your attitude the most bro 👌👌👌🤘🤘🤘😎😎😎👊👊👊👊👊 I giggled so much through this😅 , from Russian drug dealers to 56kg servos and mustang's doing mustang's 😂😂, your vids have something for Everyone 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Keep up the great work 😎😎👊👊🤘🤘👌👌
I own both the Sprtint 2 Porsche (same body as this) and an RS4, both with the castle SCT motor and esc. I like the RS4 except that I have a tendency to get pebbles stuck in the steering linkage which will lock your steering and, if you did not get over to it quickly enough it would burn out the stock servo... any suggestions on how to prevent remedy this? Unrelated: looks like your healthier lifestyle is is starting to pay off... looking better than you have since you took your break. Stay up bro!
I've tried everything. The velcro trick, lexan rock guards and shrouds, a full shroud, none of it worked. It killed my stock servo on the first run and I spent far more time doing the run of shame (so it wouldn't fry my Futaba replacement) than I ever did running it up and down the street. This thing just cannot handle street pebbles. Beyond that, this has to be the flimsiest chassis ever built. The shocks barely do anything because the suspension is made of rubber. It twists and bends in every direction instead of working properly. The entire chassis will twist if you look at it funny. Great for bashing, I guess but not so much for straight-line tracking at high speed. That sealed drivetrain isn't so sealed either. I've had tiny pebbles get in there and jam things up. It's worse than digging a rock out of a belt, I can tell you that.
Nice job, Chris. This is turning out to be a great little challenge.

Sorry man, I'm just a street basher. Never been on a track. None of the local shops that no longer exist ever had one.

How much does the build kit run? I wish HPI would allow it so you could buy directly from their website.

Play around with some wire mesh under the car over the gaps and wholes? Maybe that might provide some protection.
Just place a small strip of Velcro under the steering linkage will help keep the tiny rocks out.
