As an Aussie myself I honestly felt that Russia were completely robbed that year as he had far and away the best song but we all know why Russia will never win.
Ukraine winning was a travesty and that's got nothing to do with the fact we finished second as I personally wasn't a big fan of Sound of Silence and was shocked it did as well as it did but wasn't feeling Ukraine's at all

@@trildi I would say the fact that song was also anti Russian played a major part in that. But I maintain that Ukraine's song wasn't very good but at this stage it's a moot point so.....

I love that she loved Bulgaria too though. Although Australia is there because they are part of the EBC which loads of countries broadcast and are allowed to join but only a few outside of Europe compete, like Israel, Turkey and Azerbaijan actually do

As an American who likes Eurovision way too much and shares it with random people all the time, I can totally relate to this. I have one friend who was convinced that she'd never fall in love with one of these songs. She's currently feeding her love to Margaret Berger. My parents love Crno i Belo, Nije Ljubav Stvar, and L'amore è Femmina. My dad loves Cleo and the slavic girls, which surprises nobody. My mom loves We Are the Winners and Eastern European Funk.
