That sampler stocking would be a good addition to my bird collection - they complement my mother's birdhouse collection which I inherited. I even have a church which has a very high steeple and it is all in metal. My older brother gave it to her. I would like to see your bird clock. You may have shown it before, but I am a late comer to your channel.
Thank you for the kind comment! Your birdhouse collection sounds incredible. Do you store them inside or do they function to house the neighbors? The bird clock is not much to look at. It does have pretty bird pictures on it though. I'll try to show it next time for sure! Happy stitching to you!
Oh it is strictly an indoor collection - they are just decorative. Since I am in the process of repainting and reflooring my house, they are currently in storage and I hope to have a special shelf made to display them. I even think they might be used for a Christmas village, but I will have to see if that is doable - somewhere in the house.@@stitchingincostume

This is my first time vising your floss tube and I loved every minute but the costume introduction was amazing. I liked your jacket. I quilt as well as cross stitch and belong to a small group. They were doing a wall hanging that I decided to use the house motif to put on the back of a jean jacket and use rick rack to decorate other parts. Every time I wear that jacket I get so many compliments and I love it. Look forward to watching you again.

Thank you for sharing, Katherine! I love to see your finishes, especially the stocking with the little bird on it. ❤ Your backing fabric looks made for this project. I'm stitching too the Smith sampler, and in my opinion the tacna gold is too army green, or mine is, so in the sampler I changes this color now and then. I also put in winter white from Gloriana, and sometimes I change the colors of the border, if I think it's too dark or looks too simular. The basket is hugh and intense stitching and for me nearby... but I like stitching this sampler, so I keep going with my vue on a horizon where I have finished this project, nearby end of this year. 😊
It sounds like we may finish the Smith Sampler at the same time. I agree it's a big sampler and the border is intense! That's funny about the Tacna Gold... I must have a more golden green dye lot. I was sure i had this pattern and was going to start it after seeing yours but could not find the pattern in my collection. So I have added it to my wish list and will purchase it soon. The yellow house sold it for me.

Hi Katherine, Did you make your dress? Of course you did. So elegant. The volume is fine and the colors of the room, your sweater and the MMEW sampler are just lovely. That sampler is breathtaking. Wow! I am drooling over all your finishes. The stocking looks so good too. Her bow looks like bunny ears a bit. 🤣 My friend Sue has several of these stocking done. I agree with you and would put Joyous Day on a scroll rod too for the satin stitches. Hoops and Q-snaps can distort the threads if caught under the pressure. You have such lovely WIPs.
