@u-know-this exactly, and using a pro monitor pa amp on a pair of bookshelf speakers shows very little intelligence. Hey, I know.. look up driver models and how much they are selling for. Who's having fun...
APM was probably a brand line of speakers made by Sony.. All woofers in those were square! It is possible to refoam those things.. I know some other brands like Sanyo, Technics and even Sharp made some speakers who used the same square woofers sa Sony did.. they were built the same way
Hey Garret! I have been a fan of your videos for a long time now (about 4 or 5 years) nice speaker blowouts! I definitely enjoy watching them go up in smoke (and possibly flames) :D I love blowing cheap-ass speakers and smashing crap lol
They might sound like crap but aside from the foam surrounds they sure look well build to me. The "APM" series was pretty highend and uses the same design.
These are budget versions of Sony's APM technology, (Accuurate Pistonic Movement) Sony have built their fair share of memorable audio products over the years, and also spent much time on research and development. These speakers had bigger brothers which used the better drive units and one pair in particular are considered exceptional by some. These units measure extremely well and can be coaxed with a little tinkering into a decent sounding speaker. They are built to a price and also japanese culture has such a funny mixture of shite and state of the art from that era, like a lot of japanese product they concentrated on one bit and forgot about the rest. for instance I had an Aurex electret condenser cartridge 1983 ish... and it was just beyond good the generator was brilliant except the body was cheap plastic and glue.. Dont quite know why I'm telling you this? As you all seem to enjoy breaking stuff that really you only have half a dim witted idea about...Maybe wait and think before just getting the hammer out. Also if anyone is interested surround repair kits are available for this range.
Vinyl transparent glue to PVC swiming pools could fix the foam...had only to pass gently a brush with the product to create a rubberized strong surface...this speaker is the highest possible technology in speaker development in order to reduce distortion... perfect to mids and low mids..not good to boomer's head...you do not imagine what you did young man.
The zapping is the speaker v/c leads striking the basket and shorting out from excessive cone movement, the speaker voice coils are hard to burn out because the coil in mounted on an aluminum former for more power handling.
I always wanted to see the inside of these. I used to think the square woofer was a passive radiator in front of a woofer. I also seen a Sanyo with a square woofer too.
I got Celestion DL8 speakers set. and ME MODIFY Pre-Amplifier and Amplifier Set Sooooo vintage. My Father Bought it in year maybe 1990-2000. So i try it with this song. Bass is So Good!
Believe it or not you can actually get new surrounds for these, though how good they are I don't know. Other than that it's pretty hard to get spares for the APM speakers (accurate pistonic motion). I have a set of APM-A70E speakers with failed surrounds, other than that they are literally mint. Perhaps I should take them out and airmail them to a certain person in Canada...
5:25 Garret DDT have two function ,when enable LED indicates compression clean signal and when defeat DDT LED still indicates but name is clipping and produce more output voltage but distorted Just to you know how Peavey amplifiers works😉
PARTICLE BOARD?! ugh I'm glad you killed them! My two large advent speakers fell off my big ass old TV last night when i went to move the thing. Made one hell of a noise and scared the crap out of me and my girlfriend who came running in to see who/what died cuz of the BOOM! From ceiling level to floor with no damage, that's quality. So glad I refoamed them, now I just have to glue the case back together on their Mitsubishi amp, wood split, amp is fine lol.
My bedroom system consists of a set of JVC SP-75BK towers, a set of bose 301 series III bookshelves, a pioneer VSX-821-k receiver, and (go ahead and laugh and call me a douche, but I prefer this approach) a set of x-files 12" subs powered by a dual amplifier. Going to replace the subs and amp soon though, the box wasn't built to accommodate the subs (got them at a pawn shop when I first got into speakers) and I can't find the T/S parameters anywhere.
Build a rickety box with 3 12 inch car subwoofers and a piezo tweeter without a crossover, Just hook it all into the plate amp from a logitech computer speaker kit :P Mad douche tunes
That's a how you know a speaker is quality, when it's made of tin foil.
Lol
Wiki APM
Square always makes everything sound really good.
Some quality chinese fireworks right there.
Shoot those off on the 4th
the speakers were made for justin bieber songs only
Lol, right
HAHAHAH
5:09
speaker: IM DEAD?
5:11
speaker: haha second wind! **catches fire**

wow a speaker blowout in pets and animals wow
I kinda let my broth on here and i could only put no then he took it and did the reset (I have a little brother)
hes a furry, thats probally why
For how cheaply they're made I'm surprised at how long they lasted before they gave out.
They are not cheaply made they are sony. They were overpowered and the foam was rotted
@@u-know-this sony's old low-end products are very poorly made, don't be such a fanboy 🙄
@u-know-this exactly, and using a pro monitor pa amp on a pair of bookshelf speakers shows very little intelligence. Hey, I know.. look up driver models and how much they are selling for. Who's having fun...

Music 1 in this video : Split - Perfect Bass.
Ty
YOU LIFE SAVER. This song drove me nuts for YEARS
I loved that song as a little kid, thank you for the title
Yo thx for finding the og song
4:44
Speaker cone: nope I'm outta here
More like speaker plate
It’s not really a cone, it’s more like a diaphragm because it’s flat opposed to a conical shape
😂
LMAo
The cone is like screw it I'm out (falls off)
Some Sony speakers are really good but what the fuck are these? 😂
They are speakers
LIES! these are THEYERS
Ben Meyer they are the LOWER end version of the APM series. The high end speakers are built SO much better than these.
The boombox that these speakers came with was absolutely amazing and stylish.
IKR? How the hell can you make a square woofer?
for some reason i started laughing uncontrollably at 3:51
at 4:44 is where i laugh deviously. LOL
Same LOL
6:23
Haha same :)
Cheap shitty aluminum
4:50 Imagine if you put your finger inside the coil...

APM= Accurate Pistonic Motion. Look up the patents they had.
Hey Garret!
I have been a fan of your videos for a long time now (about 4 or 5 years) nice speaker blowouts! I definitely enjoy watching them go up in smoke (and possibly flames) :D
I love blowing cheap-ass speakers and smashing crap
lol
That sounded like me after tacobell...
xD
+KaienSander10 :D
schoolboy 115 lol it's hot Cheetos but ok I recommend hot fries 😂
Rods Ahed sounds like me after eating pizza
Taco bell looks like diarrhea
Your really good at recking speakers, even rare vintage speakers. Great stuff !!
Yup total womble. 800wrms into a bookshelfe speaker shows huge intelligence. Hey, get your hot wheels and run them over with your car!!! Same thing.
I'm losing my mind laughing at the movement
7:48 that must’ve been a Good note in the song LOL
"Some insulation too keep it warm"
... u fukin wot m8?
i’ve watched this video at least 500 times lol grew up watching you
let's have a farty (farting speaker) party
+The Poking Guy they sound like shit and deserve to die
LOL
Yep those shitty speakers deserve to DlE
+Kasey Josephson yeah the flex is crazy wtf lol
+Charlie fardoe Yep
7:38 sounds like a car engine
and the acoustic suspension speaker says, "You killed ma friend!.."
They might sound like crap but aside from the foam surrounds they sure look well build to me. The "APM" series was pretty highend and uses the same design.
It was called HI Fi in the eighties....high end is audiofool bullshit for millenials.
APM stood for Accurate Pistonic Motion. Simple? A flat surface pushing sound rather than a cone. Sound reaches ear at same time. That was the idea.
I have one these boomboxes with very similar speakers and it's a good sounding boombox.
These are budget versions of Sony's APM technology, (Accuurate Pistonic Movement) Sony have built their fair share of memorable audio products over the years, and also spent much time on research and development. TL;DR
Martin de Angelis agreed, they're great speakers if you fix em up a bit, I have a pair and the floor standing versions, they're great.
the boombox that these speakers came with looks so nice (sony fh 15r)
That was hilarious. I've never seen a speaker spark so much and catch fire 🔥😄
spark to do because foil at coil short speakers leads in movement ,do you see?😉
It was shorting on the basket. I would have laughed more at the amp blowing its load.
FR
Vinyl transparent glue to PVC swiming pools could fix the foam...had only to pass gently a brush with the product to create a rubberized strong surface...this speaker is the highest possible technology in speaker development in order to reduce distortion... perfect to mids and low mids..not good to boomer's head...you do not imagine what you did young man.
+Carlos Mergulhão freaking cool, i also have too make a video like this
+Carlos Mergulhão Looks like trash to me.
kinda curious about the tracks used to blow the speakers
first is Split- Perfect Bass. don't know the other two
Perfect bass - split. 1st song
Scond song?
6:43 is when the dubstep remix starts lol
6:43
The zapping is the speaker v/c leads striking the basket and shorting out from excessive cone movement, the speaker voice coils are hard to burn out because the coil in mounted on an aluminum former for more power handling.
No, it was the compression on the amp.
Mr. Spoilers So essentially it was both.
Basically the voicecoil didnt have any coating on it left??
Really diggin the spark show! Emperor Palpatine would approve!
"APM" apparently stands for "Accurate Pistonic Motion".
I always wanted to see the inside of these. I used to think the square woofer was a passive radiator in front of a woofer. I also seen a Sanyo with a square woofer too.
I had a pair of them. I smoked them with 100 watts
Those SONY speakers are LEGENDARY
I remember watching this video as a little kid and bursting laughing on the speaker voicecoil sparks LOLOL. Good ol' times.
I was at my first steps at learning english too, lol
Some Chinese guy probably got fired for that one! I LOST IT 😂
+SRCVintage Electronics I think 5,000 Chinese Guys where Fired for those XD
True 😆
Realize how small those woofers are, they're 2x smaller than Garret's hands
Kind of sad that you blew those speakers up but yet they were foam rotted. Actually square speakers makes sound better
0:38 - 0:34 is the best part
44*
I got Celestion DL8 speakers set.

Sooooo vintage.
My Father Bought it in year maybe 1990-2000.
So i try it with this song.

*btw APM means Accurate Pistonic Motion*
The terminal leads were shorting on the remains of the metal diaphragm, that's what was causing the sparking, you are lucky the amp survived that one!
"eww... look at that glue... some chinese guy probably got fired for that' LMAO!!!!! awesome video brudda
I still want to know the name of the third song, beginning at 6:25. If anyone can tell me, I would appreciate it greatly.
6:38 alright lets go civic time to show off
3:50 Song?
Idk
Sparks! Love It!
Best one you've done in ages! :)
What is a hydrobill? I am English and never heard of it
I believe it refers to his electric bill, hydroelectricity is one way of generating said electromotive forces
Hydroelectric power. Water is moving a dynamo which generates electricity.
Guys, I think I found the third song. It’s called Bass Outlaws - Illegal Bass.
5:25 Garret DDT have two function ,when enable LED indicates compression clean signal and when defeat DDT LED still indicates but name is clipping and produce more output voltage but distorted
Just to you know how Peavey amplifiers works😉
APM=Amps per minute I guess
Haha probably

I love blowing speaker but I haven’t did it in a while so I can’t do that anyways
your vintage speaker has a cute design
Apm stands for accurate pistonic motion.
Electronics & More I think your the newest comment
Bass test yah?
the first one didn't blow the tinsel leads just burned up
who was laughing in the background?
Omg that song, I got that slapping on my $3k klipsche home theater system rocking my house
which song?
Every time that bass hits that me after eating Taco Bell
That had some wicked excursion fr
these sound amazing on a proper amp...i would have paid a nice price for those to :/ damn
Song at 6:23? Been wondering for years! I see my old comments asking lol
I like it how the foam just gets loose on its own *lol*
Those protection plates just blew off!
its a minecraft speaker :P
Is there any advantage to square speakers?
2:50 that foam is incredible
2:50
Those speaker sound nice with the mini amp it came with.
I have the apm mini speakers they are nice. idc what this guy breaks though, it's his he can do what he wants
If anyone knows what the second song was please tell me
I suppose it's me, but I can hear the music just played a minute ago at 5:50 (for like 2 seconds)
5:50-5:52
These speakers are from the Sony fh-7 mk 3
My bedroom system consists of a set of JVC SP-75BK towers, a set of bose 301 series III bookshelves, a pioneer VSX-821-k receiver, and (go ahead and laugh and call me a douche, but I prefer this approach) a set of x-files 12" subs powered by a dual amplifier. Just a question, what is the clicking in your peavey cs-800 AMP?
Build a rickety box with 3 12 inch car subwoofers and a piezo tweeter without a crossover, Just hook it all into the plate amp from a logitech computer speaker kit :P Mad douche tunes
Garret do you know that song at 3:50
6:11 that fucking joke IS AMAZING XDD
thumbs up for these speakers for basic home use
what was causing the first one to spark
If the speaker is square, you need to send a cliped signal
3:51 what song name
perfect bass - split
They remind me of cheap Boom Box speakers from the early 90's,surprised they have a real tweeter.
The speakers this guy destroys are for parties, not for real musical enjoyment, so, respect ;)
How to blow a 20wrms speaker: put 600wrms into it from a p.a. amp. Height of intelligence
"speaker gore" not disappointed
the speaker looks like a beehive and sounds like a beehive
this arent his only amps man, he knows audio
2:30 Is that an iPod Touch 2nd generation? I still have mine that works.
do you think dubstep would work for it?
The CS-1200 amp will still compress. I Had to bypass it by taking it apart. Use your "TANK" CS-800. Its way better
+Racing Studios he did for the second one
what is the song called from 4:30
It’s got DDT compression and it’s not setting DDT is either enabled or defeated
Is the amp in bridge mono mode or just channel A alone?
What is the song when he was blowing the second speaker?
OMG THEY ARE COLLECTORS they may sound crap but they can sell alot on ebay
What are those amps made for exactly? Home stereos? I need something that can power 2 12" subwoofers at 2000 watts in my bedroom. Any ideas?
