Love this game, I've been practicing scoring it, but with how much effort they put into this release it's a bummer there's no chapter select/ any training features at all. Optimizing this game can get pretty dummy trying to figure out the best magic for what part/ best places to maximize hyper usage. Being able to practice boss milks without a full playthrough would be a solid addition. That being said, this has probably the most 'modern arcade game' aesthetic of any STG I've played with these huge colorful numbers filling the screen.
This might be a little bit late. But I just bought this game on sale and can't figure out what the charged up green magic does. Does anybody know pls? Btw cool run keep up the good work!
It's totally different. The new Cotton game, Rock 'n Roll ("Fantasy" in the west) actually has some similarities to Deathsmiles with the way items drop and fall all over the stage, but it's still more of its own thing imo. This game's fun but I like both Deathsmiles games quite a bit more.
@@iconoclast575 Thanks a lot for the reply, I was actually debating on whether or not to learn Deathsmiles. Definitely swayed me. I'm coming from Border Down and Darius EX (PSP) , never really gave other hori-shmups a chance but I've had my eye on Deathsmiles for years.
Every failed Tea Time fills me with a profound sadness.
I hope more shooting games are rebooted like Cotton. Arrange modes add so much.
