Balanced Rock and Devil's Doorway Trail | Devil's Lake State Park | Wisconsin Geology & Photography

Located at the Devil's Lake State Park in the Wisconsin State Park system is a beautiful geological wonder called Balanced Rock and Devil's Doorway near Baraboo, Wisconsin, which is situated in the Wisconsin Driftless Area.
This hugely popular state park is home to large boulders and rock climbing and is one of the best hiking trail in the state. It is, also, close to the Wisconsin Dells and Chicago.

I must have driven past this park 20 times and never stopped---I was assuming it was the typical lake/woods type park. I had no idea it had such great rock formations and vistas. Well ---ANOTHER thing added to the "To-Do" list! Thanks , as always, for sharing.............

Those balanced rocks remind me of Wyle E. Coyote, trying to get the roadrunner by using levers, etc. with rocks. They would often land in odd vertical formations.
