I'm an American who learned falconry in Germany and enjoy your videos very much. These test ones are among my favorites, and I would happily watch them even without the hot chilis!! I have long wondered what "Falkenbart" (falcon beard) is in English, and now I know. I have been to Assateague and was shouting at my monitor to try and help you! LOL A beloved American children's book is "Misty of Chincoteague," and if I ever get to England I will hand you a copy (though maybe you don't want to remember the horror of that chili).
Thank you for this! I have my US test scheduled in a couple weeks and this was really helpful to use as a study guide for a sampling of possible questions.
@@MercerFalconryThank you! I love watching your channel. The questions really were the same. It was about 1/3 legal, 1/3 husbandry/hunting, and 1/3 identification/environment. I had learned that there is a study guide from the California Hawking Club available for purchase that was helpful too. I’m in a different state so parts weren’t applicable.
I don't think you, or anyone who watched this will forget what an assateague is any time soon! If I had a cap on I would doff it to you Dan, you're a very brave man.
How long did it take you to recover from that? 14 correct out of 22, but only because of our great friend Steve Petersburg. Steve was the head park ranger at Dinosaur National Monument in Colorado during their peregrine recovery program throughout the 1980s, and wrote an extensive report about it, as well as telling a wealth of wonderful and sometimes hilarious stories around the dinner table.
#15 - I felt sure it was the Assateague area on the eastern coast. Being capitalized weighed towards a proper noun which strengthened that hunch. Your dog could feel your stress levels going up after worrying about eating a pepper and your pooch was trying to cheer you up. I do not consider it cheating to look up if Assateague is a location. Also, I've heard many times that smaller peppers are more spicy than larger ones, and to avoid the seeds.
How long was this video's actual full length? I ask because for me, it finished at 24.28 with the repetition of the phrase "ye olde", with litterally nothing else thereafter. I have noticed some other videos (not necessarily on this channel) finish rather suddenly as well.
On #10 you said there were 21 more to go for a total of 31. The video stopped on question #22. What happened to the other 11? Did you get #23 wrong and stop the video for the sake of your health? Or is there another video coming out for the rest of the exam?
Assateague is also known for its wild decedent of wild Spanish ponies that are rounded up yearly to sell yearlings for the fire department. There is a book about it called Misty of Chinkoteague. Thats how I remember
Wow….. I think you did pretty well! I’ve been fairly curious about the test as well, very interesting that this part was dedicated to mostly the Peregrine Falcon. (More!!!! Please? I hope you recovered from the Habanero 😅)
I like habanaro's they have alot of flavor, but spicy af😅. Also dampen a paper towel and use it to get the oils off your tongue and roof of your mouth if it really burns or bread.
I wish he had not counted #15 against himself. Not being from America, knowing that name Assateague wasn't his lack of knowledge in falconry, but geography. Man, I hurt just watching Dan suffer through. I never saw anything past question 22 though. There were 9 more questions.
This made me laugh so hard I cried… all while studying and learning along with you for this exam. Loved it!!!
I did not love it! 😂

Great job once again. Just watched you miss 15. Wife and I was both rooting for you. Poor Charlie.

Best of luck with it!
Come back and let me know how you got on
How did the test go?
That was nice of you to ask. I passed on the first try 😁. Now I’m starting the process of looking for a sponsor. Thank you for asking!
Congratulations!
Was it anything like the mock one I’ve been going through on videos?

Well done you two I've seen some people put marshmallows on top of their dog proof traps or golf balls do you put anything on top or just bait inside
Here from very really good! Also hi mercer falconry

Brave, or stupid? 😂
@@MercerFalconry Brave, definitely brave...
I don’t think it was worth the probably £2 a month the video will make 😂
@@MercerFalconry No way in hell anyone should be eating that for £2. It won't even generate enough to fund getting any more chillis.
@@MercerFalconryhello am new to the sport and a got my self a sparrow and am wanting to get a Harris hawk
I am studying for my exam, this was brilliant my friend. You are a good, but foolish sport. Cheerio. Regards from Rapid City, South Dakota.
Thank you, good luck with the exam, come back and let me know how you got on!

9:49 I think this theory is true. A similar stripe is also found on cheetahs
you made a cameo in kurtis conner’s podcast 😜 new sub just because you look like you deserve it
Thank you very much, I have seen the video but I was very confused when the comments started appearing and I didn’t know!

I’m gona need recovery time before the next 😂
@@MercerFalconry haha sure thing!
Blimey Dan I think it would be less dangerous to your health taking up shark wrestling or sky diving without a parachute
I managed to turn flying birds into a career, I’m sure I could spin shark wrestling into a career too 😂
Where did you get the test

I think I’m just going to avoid chilli’s forever now, that was a horrible experience 😂
Good Lord 😮 You are so awesome 😅
🥵 lol you are insane!
I won’t disagree 😂
You may want to go for the fresh peppers next time, they don't have as a heavy dose of the spice
I wish you had told me that beforehand 😂
I do like chilli, but how did you eat that hot one, 🔥
Well done on the test, Interesting.
It was very very painful, I watched it back and I don’t think it comes across in the video how much pain I was in 😂
@@MercerFalconry I know, you are very brave, that chilli you had was dangerously hot. 😂
Baseball players use the malar stripe.
