Thanks mate...as my grandad used to say, "Once the technical details are ironed out the next step in one's meteoric rise to stardom is to beat the venue expert off the next peg (more than once!). Followed up with one giving the venue expert a good pasting from an unfancied peg, and him being on the flyer. The only drawback is having to listen to the quiet whispers from others, others who are not putting together a steady collection of trophies and/or those little brown envelopes."
Got N'Zon Distance Specials at 12ft and 13ft with N'Zon 25D reels that would do for this - can double them as river rods too. Paired, of course. Might add a pair of 11ft rods to the bag too. Thanks for the shout out on the Gardner Tackle stiff rig tubing.
great video Joe, great insight on hardware and terminal tackle. Like you say if you ain’t got the right tackle from the start you got no chance !! 👍🏻great rods for the price point I have the 3.6 version 👌🏻
Thanks for this Joe - nice to see you can compete with resonably priced kit . Wow better than an Daiwa SLR fot this sort of fishing , thats some recommend !
Hi Joe I bought 2 castizems after watching your video,I wonder if you still feel they are good rods for distance,I use mine at barston,11.6 and 12.8 ,great video pal 👍
I’ve brought a monster x distance feeder for barbel fishing on the Severn (4.2 M). Haven’t used it yet , but if it’s anything like my other monster x rods , should be great. By the way. , used the wand zee yesterday at Larford for short range method work . What a rod . Had carp over 20 pound on it , with a centris 320 . Unbelievable.
I use my distance X monster for any distance and on the rivers too. Not a fan of buying a rod for different styles. My wife says I've already got too many haha
Hi joe with the 5lb line is that direct or do you use a shock leader, all my reels have detexion on now and its very well behaved line cannot fault it. Great videos very watchable.
Noticed you was using bread last match. I remember you saying you had no confidence it was on, and I made a suggestion of banding it. It’s a very popular way of presenting it on my local matches. I’ve even taken it a step further by using your double band presentation like you do with pellets. So did u band or quickstop? 🤷♂️😂
awesome mate ive SLRs but have found the cheaper distance rods better i got a diawa nzon s 13f distance rod its bloody brilliant and like you say less than 100 pound i would never change from diawa rods but like most things what works for you loving your vids mate love nufish line waiting for hooklength mono 🤫
Good series mate, ive learnt lots, but out of interest, why didn't you just get 13ft rods , 1 size to do all?? Netting fish abit closer? ??? Wish boddies wasn't 2½ hours away!

The slr is a far better ‘fishing’ rod. Different league. But for simply pumping a big feeder a long way for big carp these are ace

I fancied the 12 for some of my river fishing too 👍🏻
How long is your shock leader ?
Just onto the reel 💪🏻
Why don't you use proper carp rods n bobbins, and why are not using a chair. Lots more comfy? By the way another informative video
You definitely could
