This was my mum's favourite song who sadly gained her angel wings In April this year I used to laugh everytime she played this oh how I miss her, enjoy every moment with your loved ones.....as memories never die x
My grandparent favourite and both dance on Christmas day. Bring back memories love it... Mad me cry as both no longer here today. Love you both and thank you rene and ranato for making this beautiful tune.
I can't fathom why there was so many people who disliked this this song. Compared to some crap like Rage against the Machine which was the Christmas number one several years ago in the UK this is a masterpiece. It's a catchy, inoffensive little love song and what more couldn't want than that?
gnu_andrew Tbh While undoubtedly crap, I'd still have rather seen the X Factor song got the Xmas #1 spot. We had poor choices that year and RATM had the edge in terms of being awful. However each to their own I suppose, there's no rule that dictates that we all have to like the same thing.
Just because you like something doesn't make it good, and just because you don't like something doesn't make it shit. I am willing to bet that if I tried to listen to your music collection, then I would be physically sick in a matter of minutes.
The UK Christmas No.1 of 1982. This song was the final song that the late, great Alan "Fluff" Freeman played on Pick Of The Pops on 27 December 1992, when the programme was on Radio 1. Fluff played 1961, 1970 and 1982 and this was No.1 in the 1982 section.
Pick of the Pops was great back then on Radio 1. Today's POTP is nowhere near as good, mainly because the charts they play are geared towards today's young audience so we have years featured mainly from the nineties onwards. Secondly, I struggle to understand what Gambercinni is saying. He isn't clear when he speaks and can get confusing as to what he is actually talking about.
Too right. Those times were great. Life was simpler then. People appreciated things then. We live in a throw away society now. Nothing has value because there is too much of everything.
Renate is actually not in the video because by the time the video was made she'd left the duo. Still so nostalgic for me to hear this. Makes me yearn for those days again.
its a shame renee was replaced in the video. i believe at the time she did not want the spotlight. this woman is not renee but an actress, she only mine when you do get chance to see her singing..
Love this song very much❤

Sadly, Renato died recently. He was featured in "BRING BACK THE ONE HIT WONDERS" with Justin Lee Collins.
Renate is actually not in the video because by the time the video was made she'd left the duo. Still so nostalgic for me to hear this. Makes me yearn for those days again.

Christmas no.1 1982. How was this bad??!!
❤️❤️❤️
Why wasn't it David Essex a winter's tale Christmas number 1 of 1982
Because it sold less than Renée and Renato. It didn't even make Christmas number 2. Shakin' Stevens held that position with Blue Christmas.
better than of the chart rubbish now, at least these two can sing, unlike the shouters and screamers now.
Had Renee done this song with Julio Iglesias it would have been a chart-topper. Renato has a nice Italian voice, but this song was MADE for Julio.
John Perilloux think you'll find it was a chart topper in UK December 1982!
Bozanstvenoooo.
Save your Lard, my darling, save your lard....
its a shame renee was replaced in the video. i believe at the time she did not want the spotlight. this woman is not renee but an actress, she only mine when you do get chance to see her singing..
I have a sneaky feeling she may be telling a little fib? what do you think? ;-) lolol
To say this got to number 1 in the U.K. singles charts shows what a dire year 1982 was music. Only the Jam was the truly decent act that year.
ciao storm have a bit of fun and shudd upu your face ah ah ah
...pure Bolivian velour!
It's just an awful guilty pleasure isn't it? I remember all the speculation at the time about why Renee never shows her face LOL
It's a young lucky grills,aka barearse
bargearse LOL yes!! Don't Know how many Aussies on here! I have the single. Made no. 3 Here and was in the top 40 for 20 odd weeks 1983.
