Sometimes it’s hard to blame the actor for how terrible the character was
When the actor is forced to stick with a terrible script
Henry Cavil and Andrew Garfield☝
nope he is the blame for the direction of the character
@@Oldschool1943 No he's not. He did his best. His acting is what carried the film even though russos and taika significantly ruined him.
@@Oldschool1943 No he's not. He did his best. His acting is what carried the film even though russos and taika significantly ruined him.
It was never Chris's fault, it was Taika's who decided to turn Love and Thunder into a comedy.
The biggest failures of the movie were the mismatched tone of the jokes/central themes and the awfully written villain.
Nah for failing to make a comedy. He straight up said he didn’t even wanna make it
If I'm not mistaken, not only it was Taika's fault but also Disney's. The execs knew the movie was shit yet they didn't care and released it anyways. Plus they treated the people who worked on it like shit.
which is sad since he's also the one who did "Ragnarok " and it's my 2nd fav thor film. I dunn get how the creative process went exactly southwards
Yeah, taika also said that he was working with marvel only for money
Since when were celebrities so humble.
You’ve obviously never met a celebrity from the lucky country my friend 🇦🇺😉
@@Dobbythecat123 fair enough

Keanu Reeves?
@@margarethmichelina5146 he's an exception
I feel so bad for him. He clearly had a fun time playing his character.
Yeah. Crazy how even Chris Hemsworth can suffer from impostor syndrome
@@johnsai4074for real. He's like the least replaceable avenger ever after Ironman.. I can't imagine anyone else as Thor!!

He shouldn't blame himself. It's the writer's and director's fault that Thor was played for laughs. Someone's a God hater ...
which is sad since the director's also the one who did "Ragnarok " and it's my 2nd fav thor film. I dunn get how the creative process went exactly southwards
@@dibyaudhdas1978 The first Thor movie was okay. The second movie was too dark and edgy. The third movie hit just right, making it more fun but also epic. The fourth movie pushed the comedy from the third movie too far.
@@SplendidFactor ah yes, the entire spectrum of light and darkness.
@@SplendidFactor I'd argue Ragnarok already was a step in the wrong direction. It was just so well executed that it's hard to see that the tone might not have matched the event.
I honestly will never blame an actor/actress for the quality of a movie unless they made it more difficult for the entire team like most "method" actors do, but directors are always who choose what to keep and what to film again, actors can't control that
Like Rachel Zeigler for an example who actively and purposely makes her movies hard to watch due to her antics off screen.
Like how I dislike the newest star wars trilogy, but I still respect all the actors.
Not his fault
Man of few words, but true words.
Yea it is his fault 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂( I’m kidding)
This i like
@@silverash896 👍🏾
It is actually. He didn't speak up. Blindly following orders.
I think Robert Edgers needs to deserve Thor 5. If you’ve seen “The Northman” you’ll know why
They’ll never put a decent director in line to helm a film without cucking them with executive interference. Sam Raimi had an amazing vision for Doctor Strange 2 yet it had over 30 rewrites and reshoots even a couple months away from release. The first director they hired even backed out because they prevented him from making his own creative decisions for the film
A Thor movie similar to The Northman would be absolutely amazing but it's never going to happen.
No I don't want Robert Edgers good name to be sullied by the MCU...
@@user-kv5lq9xm8cSam Raimi didn’t even watch Wandavision, and rewrites for Doctor Strange 2 happened because Sony was being stingy and wanted to release Spider-Man No Way Home in 2021 when Doctor Strange 2 was supposed to come out before No Way Home..
No way Baldy's gonna give creative control to a director of his calibre
I love the fact that he sounds like a genuine actor, and doesn't just do it for the money.
Yeah he loves Thor but he also doesn’t want to be seen as just Thor as any actor wouldn’t.
It's not his fault that Takie Walter *(whatever the hell his name is)* decided to ruin the movie by making it a parody
He is the same guy who made thor Ragnarok
@@AdrianAnimations360naw he wasn't given full control in Ragnarok tho
"Taiki Waititi"
Walkie talkie ruined the movie
put some respect on his name, he fumbled thor 4 but hes made great movies before
For anyone curious where the main problem with MCU Thor lies, I recommend Breaden Alberti's "The MCU Thor Problem" series.
to be fair he has more than made up for it with films like Extraction.
I mean it wasn’t his fault, he was an actor and actors are supposed to do actor things and it’s good that Chris Hemsworth is taking accountability because that means he knows what to improve for his next movie
Yes but he's the one who wanted Thor to be more funny in the first place
Big respect for him for admitting this,Thor 4 was garbage but it was down to the writers , then taika waShiti , then Kevin feigie , then Chris. In that order. Hopefully he returns in avengers 5 , Thor 5(done right) and secret wars to redeem and give his character a good send off
Chris is such a Chad for saying that it’s his fault for everything. Chris is one of the best MCU actors. Period.
Marvel always knows how to make movie posters look good stuck next to each other
Having children fight against the God butcher was just the worst move
Anyone who expected the last Thor movie to be different hasn’t seen Taika’s other films.
This was inevitable.
Thor deserve a good movie that solely about him. Ragnarok was good but Love and Thunder instead of improving on it turned awful.
They even had Gorr THE GOD BUTCHER!! As perfect villian. But unfortunately Taika let the fame get into his head and ruined everything.
It's nice and bitter sweet to hear Chris being still passionate to play the role. Bcs Thor as a character can go forever. Since he is almost immortal god. So him still willing to play is a miracle as most actor want to part ways after such long journey.
It's not even fame getting to his head. Taika admitted he agreed to direct again because of the crew and the money offered. Not because he thought he had a good story to tell.
And Disney of course paid well for his return because they were hoping for another Ragnarok.
@@goji253 But that's not the reason he made a horrible movie. His job is to write and direct movies. So it's not like he couldn't come uo with good story. Infact he could hv just straight forward taken the storyline from the God Butcher comic. But he didn't.
He while shooting Thor 4 had tweeted that he will destroy the mythology of Thor that fans love bcs he can.
Already at time I got a hinch he is up to no good.
@@Vor567tez That still isn't "letting fame get to your head" though. It's self-destructive behaviour.
Clearly he didn't want to make a movie in the first place. And didn't make any effort to do so.
@@goji253 It's same. You are just phrasing it differently. Lol
@@Vor567tez "letting fame get to your head" implies thinking what you are doing is actually good.
Whereas the more logical conclusion is pure and utter apathy. Making something awful, knowing it's awful and just not caring.
It's not the same, these two are literal opposites.
Well looks like we will get a Thor 5 movie and I’m excited and I hope he fights jormangandur
This just prove how much they are toxic.
When your movie is a failure blame the toxic masculinity or the actors. If he thinks he is the problem it means "Disney" is ok with him thinking that
He is not to blamed for the writings of wacky writers 😂
Idk why the director decided to make such a joke out of thor. And it is not chris's fault
He never cared about the characters. He also said he hated loki and mocked his pain
A Gentleman takes responsibility instead of blaming others
He did incredibly well, the scripts failed him
They should have made Chris the director.
No one could represent Thor better than Chris, he embodies that character & every other role with modesty & integrity !
It was Chris and, predominantly, Taika+Disney's fault. After 2, Hemsworth was right to want a change but to ENDLESSLY obsess over 'reinventing' Thor and facilitating Taika's moronic narcissistic self indulgence as he 'ruined our mythos in a minute' was very silly. That movie does not exist to me. Seeing The Thunderer become a bumbling moronic, room temperature IQ airhead who's very presence irritates even goofs like The Guardians was UNACCEPTABLE.
Bs. Hemsworth wanted to change Thor for good. He wanted a better Thor. Not the bs taika comedic thor.
Yeah i would say infinity war was mostly about thor's peakness.
Taika wrote, Directed & starred in Love & Thunder which goes to show that he can’t actually do any of those things
Fell bad for him
they rly got the guy who made US Imbetweeners to make a movie and were surprised when it sucked. lmao
As the strongest Avenger, sounds like he’s taking one for the team.
I gotta say i feel bad for starlord they sorta made him a joke as well in gotg 3
The only thing Taika Waititi is good at is becoming Korg that's what he's good at
He should have brought the Thor from Thor the Darkworld in Live and Thunder and it would have been a great movie.
They should make thor a bit more serious now not only comedy
They didn't really know what to do with Thor after the first film. He has a lot of potential, but he ended up remaining pretty static for a while until they made him worse. Could've been so much more.
The times have really changed when a 2:37 video feels like 10 minutes....
True, after all the character development and redemption, he should have gone on to rule his own universe after endgame.
Thor is over when theirs 4, 4 movies 💔
Ragnarok was the best Thor movie.
Damn, im all against idolising actors, but that's very humble and kind of him. No wonder I was a fan of him as a child lmao.
Good to see someone gifted with so much talent and genetic fortune being human and humble, but this is misplaced. He’s most certainly not at fault.
after reading the comics i wonder if they did thor 4 the way they did ragnarok, how good would it have been
Much better, probably still not great but much better for sure.
Taika was the writer and director of Love & Thunder, so it really is his fault that the film underperformed, but it is nice to see that Chris Hemsworth is acknowledging that it was not a good film. It's also really nice to see that he wants to do Thor 5 because he feels like he owes the fans a good Thor film before Avengers 5 because Thor needs to be taken seriously again.
I think Thor's best moments were the fluff moments where he gives exposition which isn't great. But it's still some of my favorite parts from the first and second avengers movies.
thank god he's finally taken some accountability he is the guy that wanted to take thor in this direction since thor ragnarok. when he said the character needed to do something new he is the man responsible for help implemented jokey comical thor it's everything that thor isn't like in the comics.
it was never Chris Hemsworth's fault - that lies directly at Taika Waititi' feet. He tried to recapture the same magic of Thor: Ragnarok - Thor 4 went the same route as Thor: The Dark World - down the toilet.
Zack Snyder must be director of Thor 5..😅
I feel like he’d actually kill it, not so good with Superman but Thor is the right guy for the job. Imagine if he made Love and Thunder oh myyyyy
@@xSKY23
His Zeus would give Thor a run for his money
Hemsworth should play Brainiac.
Taika allowed the wackiness into the final cut, but I get why Chris doesn't want to throw him under the bus. He's a nice guy and Taika is his friend
Hey, Chris is built as a leader, a Guy who gets things done, and a BadAss. He has played many other movies and he is gifted. But like i have seen before, as the actors get older they become wiser. Also take a look at Keanu and Tom Cruise. People are always going to see their movies because its entertaining for current time, its full of action, and its just fun!!! I think Chris should ride the wave and learn as he is having fun. I loved Chris in the 12 Strong, Extraction, the Huntsmen was entertaining, Red Dawn shows him as a leader (Which i think in real life he is a real leader. Maybe im wrong). Any way i think Chris is a great actor! He has played many many roles and should just ride the wave.
He did allow his character to become a joke. But marvel would have done that regardless because they just cannot have a strong male character. He had to humiliated and emasculated to make room for the Uber powerful females. Imagine having Jane chained up and then stripped naked in front of thousands of people for laughs. No chance.
While "Producer" is a legitimate role for the most part, sometimes the title is simply used to bring money and attention to a project
Actually, in the marvel universe, Thor is the character with the most depth. He is 1500 years old or more. So he must have seen much more than any human!! I feel that its hard for Thor to relate to Ironman or other because of the differences of their past. Ironman and Capt, America have a common background and sometimes you see how they depended on each other. I don't think that they knew much about Thor and what he could do. He had a neutron star blasting him as he held the doors open. Dr. Strange knew more of his worth, and we saw it when they run into the Guardians of the Galaxy.
My point, is Thor was definitely needed in the Marvel Universe and I am very happy they included him.
Taika Waititi’s humor is objectively worse than Joss Whedon. Some reason people hated on Whedon’s humor. Whedon’s humor had wit and intelligence while Waititi is just lazy and cheap.
Taika Waititi went as gay as Jeff Goldbloom and doomed Hemsworth and Thor as a whole. Also Russel Crow as Zeus is gonna get someone zapped to death by a master bolt.
2024: “this movie has too much humor”
Me: “we’re out of problems thats it, are only criticism of a movie is that it was too funny🫠”
he was right because it was his fault for not saying "no"
Thor 4 was really dry. And I noticed quickly it was all Taika's doing. Chris trusted him and here's the consequence.idkbwhat happened to Taika he seemed good at first.
Regarding Chris' grievances about Thor's role in the Avengers films, they're not without validation. Thor is alienated amongst the Avengers as he's literally a god among men. He's stronger than the Hulk, but since Thor isn't a mindless beast, it's hard to keep his character interesting. A good screenwriter can't even lean towards Thor's alcoholic-hedonistic tendencies as that's something the audience is more accustomed to seeing Tony Stark do. It's difficult to get Thor "grounded" since he's not with Odin, Loki and Jane all the time.
I can't see anyone else playing Thor. Personally I don't think Chris is replaceable.
The poor man. It was clearly Taika's fault.
Like, yeah I know it's hard to blame your friend, especially one who makes pretty good stuff when his heart is in it. But... well, his heart wasn't in it.
I kinda liked the movie tho... The comedy fitted his development ngl just my opinion tho like its not the comic days no more people gotta understand its for the newer generations.
Yeahhhhh no, the movie was ass.
Ragnarok - OOO VERY GOOD
Love and Thunder - Oh god what is this monstrosity… LOOK AT HOW THEY MASSACRED MY BOY
It was the WRITERS not THOR
So people who were *actually*, intimately involved with the creation of the movie tell you how it is and you’re like “nahhhh, my feelings are more important”. I’d cover my face too because this shit is embarrassing.
Cmon guys just let it go. Its just one bad movie
who are you talking to? It was a bad movie, people have to point out its a bad movie so that marvel doesnt make another bad movie. Because people are saying its a bad movie even Chris himself is saying its a bad movie. Thus making it easier for us to get a good movie next time. Whats even more is that everyone in response is saying that its not completely Chris fault that its a bad movie which is true. Althought he bares some reponsibilty its nowhere near as much as his fault as it is Marvels. Just Chris admiting its a bad movie makes everyone confident that the next one will be a better movie
@@averydee5328idk about that last part but if there still is being a Thor 5 then we can only hope for the best we cannot be confident
@@Dobbythecat123 Confident is too strong of a word. After watching Thor 4 I didn't want a Thor 5. After hearing what Chris said I'm interested in a Thor 5 now.
@@averydee5328I only want one if Loki is in it again. I just love when our favorite Asgardian brothers are on screen together
Good, like Ryan Reynolds’s stars should stand up for the quality of their movies
I mean Chris is a contributing factor sure. But he's far from the one to blame, he is an actor. He's not the one making decisions but he probably does have quite bit of influence and free reign to do so. It does seem like the vibe onset was very wacky and goofy. Personally, I myself tend to get caught up in silliness also, its fun and we all love to laugh. But it's certainly quite on the nose in the context of this movie because the character of Thor is definitely no joke.
I'd like the new Thor movie to be directed by James Gunn or Villeneuve or Hemsworth himself.
I blame a lot of Thor: Love and Thunders tonal dissonance on the rock guy, his voice is just too much. I wish the character was saying all the stuff he does in a deep intimidating voice, that would be funny when hes trying to be and serious when hes trying to be.
There are definitely some ppl who're to blame for Thor's failure but he's not one of them.
I feel so bad for my dude Hemsworth
Taika needs to call himself out
Chris doing what he was directed to do wasn't his crime...
captain Marvel: Its the audience' fault for my movie flopping.
Chris: It's no one's fault but mine
He also wore a dress
He never said that you are making up stuff
Correction Chris Hemsworth has not been loyaled to thor since ragnarok
As a producer he does have responsibility over the director too. He is the one paying the director. That's why he is taking responsibility, should've put Taika in loose chains.
When you have ten producers on a movie, most of them are just names drawing an additional paycheck. Only a very few of them actually count.
@@danieldickson8591 just names? They are still producers with a power of say. It’s their money. Who decides to be just a funder vs an active individual comes across when you got producers voicing blame on themselves
Funny how the recent Immortal Thor chapter was making fun of this.
I do think he could have laid down a bit on his comedic side on acting. But surely Chris is far from the only issue of the movie and his acting was mostl good if not great. And the director should have asked him to tone it down if he believed it to be an issue. Which... He clearly didn't since the entire movie took this route.
None of the Thor movies were a failure.
I will never get it in my head that the villain this "comedy" had was FUCKING Gorr the god butcher like just from the name how can you have a comedy movie and put a big threat like gorr in it 😂.
Personally I really loved that movie and I think it was most or second best of Thor (not including Avengers movies). So I don't feel all of these things most are talking about about that movie 😂
All being a producer guarantees is that you invested in the film. It does not guarantee that your say ultimately held any weight in the creative control of a film. Jon Faverau had to threaten to leave lucasfilm because of extreme executive interference in all creative and narrative decisions
I wish he didn’t have the scam fitness app, he would be one of the only good celebrities otherwise
Yup, he should have pulled a Henry Cavil a long time ago, fuck woke Marvel.
Taika Waititi was one of the worst things that could have happened to Marvel and this reinforces it
Wait a damn minute, he made 2 movies and one of them is the best Thor movie… and the other is the worst.
wha hes just doing his job
Its not his fault the writer are mad lad that ruin it
To be honest, Chris' performance as Thor has been great. The direction for Love and Thunder was just terrible
the movie finacialy was a hit coted 250 million bugget with a boxoffice of 760 , but the quality was awful
It's not really Taika's fault either its Disney's cause they rushed it out, when they were releasing too much content

Its not his fault. Is his director and writers he always has been Thor and was his best character always a GOAT.
all these comments are right
It’s just really unfortunate that people are hating Furiosa before it comes out because it’s “Woke”.
You know. Because it has a female protagonist. Funny right?
It's not Chris's fault, it's Taika. When someone can wate Christian Bale, they can obviously f*** up the entire film.
