It’s just so interesting to me how 640 pounds is sooo hard and heavy on your body but you think that somebody else pushing you around isn’t hard on their body. She’s literally mad because she had to walk. Her CNA is absolutely AMAZING

The best person in Tammy’s life right now is that nurse assistant. Tammy has a bad attitude, she’s entitled and enabled by her family… I’ve actually stopped watching this show because I get very annoyed watching her act like a 3 year old child with tantrums. I was hoping to see some progress with her and her enablers… so what happens TLC when she dies? What was the point in airing these overweight people if there’s no push to at least get the family into counseling to STOP being her enablers! This frustrates the HECK out of me. I feel like this is just another entertainment show for TLC because I don’t see any improvements after watching this video. The best part of this video was the nurse assistant and her cussing Tammy out about how STUPID AND RIDICULOUS she is for not WALKING! Come on man this is stupid. She's not an angel. She's a rehabilitation therapist. Her job is to help people rehabilitate. And this girl can walk so it only make sense to make sure she is getting steps in or she'll become stagnant. Tisa is simply doing her job. It she were to continue to push her everywhere that would be enabling which isn't rehabilitating. They teach people in the field to encourage mobility so that they don't lose it. When I worked as a CNA (for 2 weeks cuz God know what they paid wasn't worth it) they taught us the same thing.

I'm not in any great need of losing weight (maybe that stubborn 10 pounds), but I've always contended that too much gut isn't anyone's fault but the habits of the overweight. Children are taught to swim in a playful way (desensitization of the face to water contact). Unfortunately, this works worse for adults, many are ashamed that they can't do it "fast enough". So the best thing is to do desensitization training at home in your own bathtub, where nobody is watching you and there is no time constraint. Bring your face/head under water and hold your breath. Over time, the amount of time you can stay underwater with your face/head increases. Once that's done, the actual "learning to swim" is comparatively easy (learning the moves to move around in the water

Sadly, there are many people who cannot walk, legitimately, and would give virtually anything to have such an ability. Those claiming they are unable to walk, especially due to their own sloth, would be so difficult for the truly disabled to witness. I work in a hospital and a lot of CNAs sigh at me anytime I ask them for help with something. They do not want to do anything but vital signs and be on their phone. But the ones who are doing it for a purpose, are truly the best kind of people.
I’d be so ashamed to put my family through this wheelchair business, knowing that I wasn’t even trying to lose weight. That poor guy is really going to hurt himself one of these days.
I’m paralysed from the waist down and I feel like such a burden when someone is pushing me (sometimes I need pushing especially if we go a long way, I can manage wheeling myself a couple of miles but then I’m fucked and need some help) even though it’s no fault of my own I’m in the wheelchair. It boils my piss when I see these big fatties getting pushed around in wheelchairs and when a big fattie uses the mobility scooters at supermarkets that really boils my piss. I also think that they shouldn’t be allowed any benefits just because they’re obese and the fact they pay them just keeps them there, why change when they can do nothing and get free money.
I remember Tammy calling her family members “lazy” because they got her an electric scooter to use instead of pushing her ass around in one of the episodes. It’s gotten to the point where she is unable to do very basic needs in order to take care of her basic physical needs such as cooking, showering and such. The best thing Amy, Chris, and siblings can do is letting the state become her guardian. At that point, Tammy will be in an assisted living facility and have little say in her own daily life and medical decisions.
This lady is a blessing to Tammy. Someone holding Tammy accountable and calling her out on the BS. She might be mad right now but if she's honest deep down inside she knows she's right and that's really why she's upset right now.

I think the CNA being scared of water actually helped - it boosted Tammy’s confidence that it was something that was not difficult and enjoyable for her that someone a lot smaller was scared of doing; which is probably a rare thing for her. It also gave Tammy something to concentrate on other than moving around. That nurse is a saint.
I think if anything Tisa being a little scared of the water made Tammy more confident. It meant Tammy took the lead and put her own apprehension aside to focus on someone else for a second. Way to go both of you!
God bless that kind hearted women for doing that! She was terrified of the water but put her fear aside to help Tammy. She goes above and beyond to do whatever it takes. She’s literally the best person for the job!! ☺️
I love my job as a CNA. But honestly, we don't get pay enough. Seeing Tammy's aide pushed her, I can feel the back pain. It'll be hard for the aide to go to another clients after taking care of Tammy. Please be nice to Tisa, Tammy! She is very awesome.
Agreed in my state we make around 11 dollars an hour but I refuse to work for less than 14.50. It's really disheartening to see cnas quit because they make more money and have more benefits at Walmart. In wyoming cnas are quitting in droves. Before covid my resident to cna ratio was usually 1:30 but now it can go up to 1:60 depending on staffing. It's dangerous and scary.

She makes me mad ,Tammy has to walk. When I have sciatica episodes I cry with each step, but I make myself walk rather than be in the hospital. I was on a walker for a year, now I appreciate my legs so much ! She's too heavy and so unhealthy it's sad. She needs to be PUSHED to walk ! I love her nurse !!

What she really needs is to take control of her own life, stand on her own two feet and not play the invalid card to get attention. Choosing to operate in disfunctional ways to be in the limelight is not helpful to her.. She is dragging others into a codependent and disfunctional dance with her. Her caregiver and her husband should go to the bahamas on holiday, and lie on the beach, go snorkling and drink martinis while the other one sits in hospital and starts to contemplate why she cant do the same.

Tammy needs this tough love! Even though Tammy acted like she was ignoring her, I’m glad she remained quiet and didn’t argue with her care taker. She needs to realize that her family is not out to get her but that they care enough for her that they just want to see her stay on track! My mother and aunt are both CNA's, working in nursing homes. They are only required to push people in wheelchairs if the person cannot and should not be walking. I remember one year my mom had to lift a woman similar to Tammy in size out of bed one morning. She had no help from other staff and ended up throwing her back out pretty badly. My mom was out of work and basically bed bound for a few weeks. It is a career that is definitely taken for granted. Tammy wouldn't have to carry around 600+ pounds if she just followed her damn health plan. I'm with Tisa, its bullshit.
I hate to say this, cause it's recent. But my grandmother passed away at 81 in July. And she was over 200 pounds and about 5'3. She dealt with heart failure cause of her obesity. And my mother was her caretaker and it was hard for mom. Mom had to get a lifter for her, if she did fall. Cause mom hurt her shoulder trying to lift her and plus mom had breast cancer and they had to take out her lymph nodes. So it made it hard for her to lift. Mom tried like hell to get mawmaw to diet, but mawmaw would sneak and rake out her food and go and eat junk. She had no thyroid problems or anything like that. She had trouble breathing also cause of her weight..... people need to understand that we're all beautiful regardless size and I believe no one should same anyone for their weight. But people need to show the love and concern and tell them that they want them to experience life long and do what they always wanted to do. Food is wonderful, I will agree, cause I'm a huge stoner that will go for days without eating and then when I smoke. I pig out. It's not healthy and it's not always your friend. But I get where people stress eat. Do what makes you happy, yes. But I rather see people spend life happily and not in the hospital having to have emergency surgery cause all that weight is slowly killing them.

This sounds like the exact same thing my mom went through back in 2001 when she was a CNA. After 3 back surgeries, her back hasn’t been the same since and she still has back problems to this day
She reminds me of a female version of Harvey from "Celebrity Fit Club" back in the day. I LOVE him! He would cuss them out and tell them to get their "fat a*s" up and exercise. lol I miss that show.

As a lifeguard this would actually panic me I know I wouldn't be able to save her alone if she went under yet alone treat for spinal injuries because u have to go on a board and to put her on it would be near impossible

It’s a sad situation for all involved. The best thing that could happen to her family and Tammy’s attitude is the state assuming guardianship and let them place her in an assistant living facility since she is unable to do very basic things for herself such as bathing, cooking, and making rational decisions about her health and future medical decisions. If Tammy keeps up this behavior she will not be around much longer.

Me 2. I had a sister in law very much like Tammy just not quite as large. And everyone kissed her ass. I used to tell her lucky I'm not ur sibling. Because just like Tammy she needed to be in an assisted living facility. What was far worse in my in laws case was that she had kids and drug them thru her mess with her. She ruined her children. Dss refused to remove them from her care.

She's not an angel. She's a rehabilitation therapist. Her job is to help people rehabilitate. And this girl can walk so it only make sense to make sure she is getting steps in or she'll become stagnant. Tisa is simply doing her job. It she were to continue to push her everywhere that would be enabling which isn't rehabilitating. They teach people in the field to encourage mobility so that they don't lose it. When I worked as a CNA (for 2 weeks cuz God know what they paid wasn't worth it) they taught us the same thing.

The reflex to get your head out of the water immediately is strong.
Children are taught to swim in a playful way (desensitization of the face to water contact).
Unfortunately, this works worse for adults, many are ashamed that they can't do it "fast enough".
So the best thing is to do desensitization training at home in your own bathtub, where nobody is watching you and there is no time constraint.
Bring your face/head under water and hold your breath.
Over time, the amount of time you can stay underwater with your face/head increases.
Once that's done, the actual "learning to swim" is comparatively easy (learning the moves to move around in the water

I’m paralysed from the waist down and I feel like such a burden when someone is pushing me (sometimes I need pushing especially if we go a long way, I can manage wheeling myself a couple of miles but then I’m fucked and need some help) even though it’s no fault of my own I’m in the wheelchair. It boils my piss when I see these big fatties getting pushed around in wheelchairs and when a big fattie uses the mobility scooters at supermarkets that really boils my piss. I also think that they shouldn’t be allowed any benefits just because they’re obese and the fact they pay them just keeps them there, why change when they can do nothing and get free money.

I remember Tammy calling her family members “lazy” because they got her an electric scooter to use instead of pushing her ass around in one of the episodes. It’s gotten to the point where she is unable to do very basic needs in order to take care of her basic physical needs such as cooking, showering and such. The best thing Amy, Chris, and siblings can do is letting the state become her guardian. At that point, Tammy will be in an assisted living facility and have little say in her own daily life and medical decisions.

I think the CNA being scared of water actually helped - it boosted Tammy’s confidence that it was something that was not difficult and enjoyable for her that someone a lot smaller was scared of doing; which is probably a rare thing for her. It also gave Tammy something to concentrate on other than moving around.
That nurse is a saint.
I think if anything Tisa being a little scared of the water made Tammy more confident. It meant Tammy took the lead and put her own apprehension aside to focus on someone else for a second. Way to go both of you!

Agreed in my state we make around 11 dollars an hour but I refuse to work for less than 14.50. It's really disheartening to see cnas quit because they make more money and have more benefits at Walmart. In wyoming cnas are quitting in droves. Before covid my resident to cna ratio was usually 1:30 but now it can go up to 1:60 depending on staffing. It's dangerous and scary.

She makes me mad ,Tammy has to walk. When I have sciatica episodes I cry with each step, but I make myself walk rather than be in the hospital. I was on a walker for a year, now I appreciate my legs so much ! She's too heavy and so unhealthy it's sad. She needs to be PUSHED to walk ! I love her nurse !!
@@nevaehsangel9620 I had sciatica with two of my pregnancies. I had to crawl from room to room since I never knew when that red-hot pocker of pain could strike. Sitting on something very firm or castor oil gave me relief. I hope yours is improving some.
What she really needs is to take control of her own life, stand on her own two feet and not play the invalid card to get attention. Choosing to operate in disfunctional ways to be in the limelight is not helpful to her.. She is dragging others into a codependent and disfunctional dance with her. Her caregiver and her husband should go to the bahamas on holiday, and lie on the beach, go snorkling and drink martinis while the other one sits in hospital and starts to contemplate why she cant do the same.
It’s so heartwarming to see her happy in the water. A good carer is so hard to find. She’s a strong capable woman. I hope she gets paid well ❤️
Her nurse is lovely ♥️ she genuinely cares about Tammy and her well-being. She pushes her just enough while also motivating her and holding her accountable.
I love that nurse! She’s so firm but kind and sincere. She will make such a wonderful positive change in Tammy’s life

Even though Tammy acted like she was ignoring her, I’m glad she remained quiet and didn’t argue with her care taker. She needs to realize that her family is not out to get her but that they care enough for her that they just want to see her stay on track! I hope this opens her eyes and she will start to treat her family better.

Caretakers do this all the time because sadly people don’t want to help themselves they want others to do everything for them it’s so frustrating and sad at the same time 😢

My mother and aunt are both CNA's, working in nursing homes. They are only required to push people in wheelchairs if the person cannot and should not be walking. I remember one year my mom had to lift a woman similar to Tammy in size out of bed one morning. She had no help from other staff and ended up throwing her back out pretty badly. My mom was out of work and basically bed bound for a few weeks. It is a career that is definitely taken for granted. Tammy wouldn't have to carry around 600+ pounds if she just followed her damn health plan. I'm with Tisa, its bullshit.
I hate to say this, cause it's recent. But my grandmother passed away at 81 in July. And she was over 200 pounds and about 5'3. She dealt with heart failure cause of her obesity. And my mother was her caretaker and it was hard for mom. Mom had to get a lifter for her, if she did fall. Cause mom hurt her shoulder trying to lift her and plus mom had breast cancer and they had to take out her lymph nodes. So it made it hard for her to lift. Mom tried like hell to get mawmaw to diet, but mawmaw would sneak and rake out her food and go and eat junk. She had no thyroid problems or anything like that. She had trouble breathing also cause of her weight..... people need to understand that we're all beautiful regardless size and I believe no one should same anyone for their weight. But people need to show the love and concern and tell them that they want them to experience life long and do what they always wanted to do. Food is wonderful, I will agree, cause I'm a huge stoner that will go for days without eating and then when I smoke. I pig out. It's not healthy and it's not always your friend. But I get where people stress eat. Do what makes you happy, yes. But I rather see people spend life happily and not in the hospital having to have emergency surgery cause all that weight is slowly killing them.
@@mizfit4479 Your grandmother was 81 though. This lady in the video is still quite young and able, if she actually wants to get better. I just think she likes all the attention she gets, so it enables her to stay unhealthy and potentially die an early death.
As a CNA, I can relate. Maxi Lifts have weight limits and so do we.
@@iamatoaster2693 Yes. I've hurt my back and shoulders many times while trying lift people or just trying to support their weight from sit to stand positions. It's not worth it if you end up in worse shape than the person you're helping.
This sounds like the exact same thing my mom went through back in 2001 when she was a CNA. After 3 back surgeries, her back hasn’t been the same since and she still has back problems to this day

Tammy tries to act like her caretaker isn't fair, but she is the fairest of them all.
I remember one episode where Tammy’s siblings got her an electric scooter to use only for her to call them “lazy” because they wanted a break from pushing her ass around. It’s a sad situation for all involved. The best thing that could happen to her family and Tammy’s attitude is the state assuming guardianship and let them place her in an assistant living facility since she is unable to do very basic things for herself such as bathing, cooking, and making rational decisions about her health and future medical decisions. If Tammy keeps up this behavior she will not be around much longer.
I couldn't agree w you more. Idk why her family continues to put up w her. Not only is she verbally abusive beyond belief to them, she doesn't want to do the easiest things for herself. Her brother or whoever that was is gonna get seriously hurt if he keeps pushing her around n that chair. The CNA was the truth, but I read they fired her. Enough is enough. The family needs to be free from that burden, & I'm sorry but that's exactly what she is. She refuses to do anything for herself. She's lucky she's not related to me w/ how she talks to her fam, the only ppl she has, cause I would've slapped the fat off her forhead & already had her ass committed.

Me 2. I had a sister in law very much like Tammy just not quite as large. And everyone kissed her ass. I used to tell her lucky I'm not ur sibling. Because just like Tammy she needed to be in an assisted living facility. What was far worse in my in laws case was that she had kids and drug them thru her mess with her. She ruined her children. Dss refused to remove them from her care.
If she"s lazy enough to walk, it doesn't mean they've got no right to be "lazy" too. Honestly it is an exhausting job, being this heavy , she brought this to herself and she'e making her family suffer with her.

Tammy has zero self awareness and she is surrounded by enablers. She has the maturity of a 4 year old.
The most exercise she had all week probably. She took Tammy to the pool and made her walk. She is exactly what Tammy needs.
