I must admit, I miss it, too! However, I was sometimes startled really bad when this clap-woo blasted into my ears while using earphones. But I also like this eee-poxy joke. As a non-native speaker of English, I pronounce some words as I just happen to pronounce them, and it amuses me that native speakers even can't agree on how to pronounce smth :D
To the sanding bit, ok, two things: 1) You used to use and recommend the Holey Galahad angle grinder sanding disks, any reason why you're changing to disposable flap disks? 2) Harbor freight sells a sandblasting cabinet that is fairly small, super cheap and portable with a wheel base. The setup process will undeniably take a little longer than just clamping a piece to your workarea, but you will see a HUGE overall time savings in the increased sanding speed and (more importantly) reduced sanding speed. As someone who's loved learning from your videos over the past few years and has implemented many of them in skateboard-wood projects, I can confidently say the angle-grind sanding is EXHAUSTING and your forearms will thank you for making the switch.
Have you tried using a rubber backing wheel and sandpaper discs on your angle grinder? Game changer for me and I highly recommend. You can buy the rubber backing wheels and sandpaper discs in all different grits. Those cheap sanding wheels you used in the video wear out too quickly because the glue holding the grit overheats and the sandpaper portion is on such a small surface area of the disc.
Bro.. I’ve been a fan of yours since day one.. Love your work and your an inspiration to me… this piece is straight FIRE.. Love it, it inspired me to make a Supreme themed planter for my garden
Rolling the dowel to remove grip tape looks like a nice forearm workout. You could try putting a hex bit into the end of the dowel, chuck it into a drill (low speed setting), and have a machine do some of the work for you.
Try Total Boat's Halcyon finish! It's easy to apply, water based, and you can buy it in different sheens like the gloss you want! It's sold in a bag so you can squeeze out the air and store it without risk of skinning over. You're welcome! lol
To make your sanding a bit easier, can you repurpose the woby camera jig with heavier springs and the attach your grinder to it? Similar idea to a those steady cams. It could lighten the grinder a bit more.
One of my favorite things about your channel is how extremely well thought out your process is. You've clearly gone through a lot of trial and error to find the best methods that work for you, and then you share them with us. I also really appreciate your art. The attitude is all part of the fun. I'm not Korean, but can share the impatience. And finally, sorry haters, it's eeeeepoxy now. Much respect.
you could maybe try a sand blaster at someone. you can dump 20 boards in a blaster. pick a board blast and then pick the next without opening the blaster.
You should get some Jenny bits from Cadence Manufacturing and Design. He designed his compression bits with a shorter upcut section and work great on all the hobby machines like Onefinity.
Looks really good. I would have liked to have seen you use extra ply to carry the pattern around the edges instead of the frame, maybe the top and bottom red layers and left and right carrying the stripes on to the sides.
You are cracking me up with your sarcastic digs at the people who have nothing better to do than make stupid comments. E-proxy, E-proxy, E-proxy, E-proxy, E-proxy, E-proxy, 🤣
ceramic coating ontop of the Rubio should get you what you want.... I say should because I haven't tried it yet.... and its pricy.... so you know! wooooooooooo!
A surface conditioning tool *might* work better for taking off the graphics. Stripping paint is basically what they are made for. The Restorer brand is the OG.
I get it, you have trolls commenting on your videos. That does suck. Don’t become a troll yourself by turning on all your supporters with negative commentary. Your work is awesome and I want your channel to grow.
@@WobyDesign I gotta say I agree with that guy. You're giving off a lot of negative vibes that doesn't help your videos and it doesn't really make it enjoyable for people to watch it. Is it safe to assume the Supreme logo inspired the Woby Design sticker that’s on the wall at the back of the shop? 😂 Love seeing all the stuff you create with the recycled boards
my dad bought a sand blast from craigslist that was originally from harbor frieght. I have though about it. way easier, has bulit in gloves like a chem cabinet. shit would work, I use one all the time for frisbi size pcs. can use glass beads even to save the wood
Ben, my favorite finish in all sheens is Arm-r-Seal. I just find its easy to apply, you can brush, wipe, or spray it. Spraying can be a pain, as if you alply too much its pretty prone to drips and runs. I can also attest to its strength as i finished the shelves of my home bar with it about 4 years ago and they still look perfect. As always, love the videos, have a fantastic day.
Look. I'm gonna tell you exactly how you should be sanding your skateboards now. OK? Use an angle grinder with the cheapest flap disks you can find😎 Oh, a nice table btw👍
He explained that early in the channel history, so you can find his detailed answer there, but the short answer is he has a few skate shops in SoCal who gift him the broken decks from their customers.
For sand blasting ypu don't need a much bigger air compressor just a gun and media. The real problem is something strong enough to remove anything migh damage your bladed tools.
Under the heading of idle curiosity, did you ever move into the van that you were building? Also, did you have a baby? And, how are you all living in the van?
All that sawing, sanding and routing and I don't see a dust mask on your face. So...E poxy, E poxy, E poxy, E poxy, E poxy !!!!!! You do nice work by the way!
Cool sign, interesting craft. Have you even Tried sandblasting though? your tiny compressor and small shop size does not mean it's a bad idea, it just means you're not willing to make changes and invest in equipment to try it and that's fine! but they're very common, you can probably easily make friends with another maker who has one and give it a shot. If the results are good, you can outsource. If the results aren't good, or if outsourcing isn't worth the cost involved, THEN it'll be a bad idea.
You have an amazing setup built specifically for peeling grip tape, and even a DIY spray booth. Why not make a sandbox for sanding paint? You say its too much work to set it up, but you show that you have to buy tons of cheap disks and put in manual labor to process your boards. And that doesnt make sense to me...
Go to a shop that has a sand blaster and try it before you knock it, you can put more that one in their and just spray one, move it over and spray the other. They make crushed walnut and soda (baking soda) ones that aren’t contained and hey it’s more environmentally friendly. Don’t tell people they’re stupid when you haven’t fully vetted someone’s suggestion, they’re trying to help you out. Why not use cheap high school labor? 😂 Hey that way they’ll and them down for you and then they can learn woodworking.
Cmeron from Black Tail studios "Nano 3" Ceramic finish could be some thing worth checking out in terms of finishes or Four Eyes Furniture has a new finish they just launched?

Yo, Total Boat Halcyon my friend! Wooo!
Awesome job! My favorite finish with gloss is General Finishes Arm-R-Seal Gloss. Very forgiving and easy to use.
Get a surface conditioning tool{something like the Restorer}and use the paint stripping wheel attachment.
Love how this turned out, Ben!!
Dang that came out great!
That came out great man, nice work!
Cool video. Dynamite table, really pops. Mahalo for sharing! ❤❤❤
Like the sanding jig
I love it Ben. Can't wait until the next video.. Such talent..
Turned out freaking great! No idea what "supreme" is since I’m Norwegian, but your work stands out!
You should make a skate tool out of skateboards
The ceramic 'nano' coats are super easy to apply, especially over Rubio and will give you a glossier (and better protected) finish. Maybe worth a try.
Bro.. I’ve been a fan of yours since day one.. Love your work and your an inspiration to me… this piece is straight FIRE.. Love it, it inspired me to make a Supreme themed planter for my garden

Sprinkle on baby powder before you sand, it makes the discs last way longer.
I know it sounds strange but it works

Can't beat epoxy for that wet glossy look.

Have you tried paying NASA 1.3 billion dollars to design an AI powered robot to sand the boards for you?
A surface conditioning tool *might* work better for taking off the graphics. Stripping paint is basically what they are made for. The Restorer brand is the OG.
A couple of channels have been using one of the nano finishes for a final sheen. Perhaps that would get you gloss.
The Sandblasters are probably thinking about you having a Blasting Cabinet so you could put the whole board in, just saying!! 😮😂
doesn't make sense, due to the same reason he said sanding the whole board before cutting isn't a good idea

Can you build a contraption that connects to your electric screw driver that will spin the paddle that rolls off the grip tape?
what happned to the holey galahad discs?
Is the grip tape recyclable? That would be cool to recycle it and keep it out of the landfill.

推薦walrus oil & wax ,但我通常會拋光到800-1500,越光滑的表面再上oil或wax, 比較不會有暗沉,而且會有一些光澤感
now you have to make a shirt that says E-Poxy lol
How about a sponge between your sander and the sand paper so it conforms to the shape
