Got me one on the way thanks. Just as good as $2500 one we use to have imo
Thanks for watching and the comment. I’m glad the video was helpful.
Watched your video to see how you started it. My husband has not been able to start ours after only using 3 times. I thought maybe he is missing a step. Did I see you switching TWO chokes on?
1 is for the idle the other is for the choke. Usually we put the idle at 1/2 and then full choke
Hey man! I just bought the same splitter. First one I’ve ever bought. Hoping you can answer a quick question for me. Does the fluid in the clear hydraulic return line get foamy during operation? Mine does and I can’t find anything about if that’s normal or not. Thanks!
Yes ours does that too. You just want to make sure the fluid is topped off to keep any air out of the lines. It hasn’t caused any issues with ours. Thanks for commenting I hope this helped.
My experience so far:
Bad. Won't buy online splitter again.
Hose from tank to support beam is twisted after installing. Don't see how to straighten.
Damaged in shipping. OHV cover has a dent, the piece where you pin the control handle was bent inward so I had to gently heat up with propane torch and bend back so I could gently tap it in.
Book doesnt tell me what the knob is thats on the hydraulic cylinder (it's small and was able to move it by hand) but it was leaking hydro. Took it off and I'm guessing it's a relief valve??
Purging the system of air thus far has been tedious and still ongoing. All connections are tight and see no leaks (besides that knob that's factory installed).
The instructions don't properly label the hardware so it was a "that kinda looks like the screw pictured" deal.
Book says 2.1 gallons hydro, but also says 1.6 gallons. Found out it diesnt mention this but FIRST 1.6 hydro, run it and cycle it, then add the rest.
I'll see if customer service can make my experience a little less of a headache. Report back when I do.
Please do and let everyone know. My brother uses it regularly and myself on occasion and we haven’t had any issues with it. That’s disappointing.
Just got mine and put it together. I can not get it to start for the first time. Not sure what I’m missing.
Are you getting fuel to the carburetor, check fuel shut off, and does it have spark?
Spark plug was loose. Finally got it going. Actually seems to be a good machine!
Awesome
Did you happen to sharpened the wedge that wood goes into or did your paint wear off? I was thinking about sharpening mine i just got
We did not sharpen it and haven’t sharpened since then.
Seems to work ok. Not anbig fan of the location of the hydraulic tank, seems like it could be a real weak spot. Curious to see how it holds up. How much was it btw?
We haven’t had issues yet with the tank. Here is the link to Amazon Landworks Log Splitter Portable 20 Ton Rapid Auto Return Ram System Bucher Gear Pump 7HP Engine Horizontal Full Beam Steel Wedge Firewood Splitting Forestry Harvesting a.co/d/auxpIL1. It was $800 approximately. Depends if it is on sale or not.
Do you happen to know what size the hydraulic tank dip stick is?
I’m sorry I don’t know the answer to that
@@randomlikesokay, thanks for replay
How is this doing now that a year has passed?
We are still using it and splitting wood regularly. Thanks for asking. No issues yet.
I run a small but building firewood business. How has this splitter been behaving since this video was done?
So far so good. There hasn’t been any issues with it. We use it regularly for the smaller stuff. We have since gotten a larger wood splitter as well.
Why did you use Teflon on the hose connections?
Better safe than sorry I guess.
what hydraulic fluid did you use?
We just used standard universal hydraulic fluid we purchased from our local farm store
Can you tell me how dry was the wood ?
It had about 25% moisture. About 1/2 dry. Thanks for the question.
