I mean Brazil decided to buy dreadnoughts back in the day, forcing Argentina and Chile to do the same to keep up so their navies don't get steamrolled and their economies sure didn't like buying or maintaining those things lol.
Sometimes the heavier turret was placed above the lighter turret because the width of the ship wouldn't allow the wider barbette to be placed forward. This was why the Pensacolas had their 3-gun turret superfiring over their 2-gun turret. The bow of the ship was too narrow to allow for a barbette wide enough to support a 3-gun turret. On these ships, though, it appears to be entirely aesthetic and it looks dumb.
The new Pan-Asian battleship line, in a nutshell. Chakri: A design for a ship that looked like a Nelson but was armed with 12 inch guns that was sold to Thailand after WWII. Zulfiqar: Another 12 inch armed mini Nelson, but this one was sold to Imperial Iran after WWII. Hanoi: Vladivostok but made to look like Borodino and with the 12 inch guns from Kronshtadt, then it was sold to Vietnam. Dondfeng: Another Vladivostok but made to look like Borodino and with the 12 inch guns from Kronshtadt, but this time it was sold to China. Tiangong: Yet another Vladivostok but made to look like Borodino, but with the 12 inch guns from Stalingrad, and this time it's in quad turrets. It was then, again, sold to China.
@@hendrikrascher9104 It's honestly fascinating seeing the state of many newer ships in this game, because at this point they range from "Could've potentially existed according to historical propositions" to "Literally a figment of our imagination lol" I think its fine for them to take some liberties when designing ships, there's only so many that actually existed without making every individual ship of every class that already exist in the base game, the problem is that most historically accurate ships are just dead in the water at this point because the devs favour the power creep of newer ships leading to such a severe imbalance between them all.
Drachinifel and Battleship New Jersey talked about why having the larger turret in the superfiring position. It has to do with torpedo protection. The torp protection is all about having enough space between the torp belt and interior vitals to absorb damage and flooding. WIth such a large barbette in front there wont be any space and the torpedo even has a chance to detonate the magazine, or cripple the turret. Thats one of the Iowas weak points, because even the tripple in front doesnt leave enough space for good torp protection.
I haven't seen that vid, but I had always thought the volume of the bigger turret just didn't fit in the hull where the smaller turret was.... That said I was looking at the Pensacola/Salt Lake City at the time.

Lesta made so many Chinese ships. Guess they take a look into their account and found that Chinese players fleeing from WG servers made up most of their dubloon income.
We need more power on the CV's. As a base they need to go 44 knots, have a detect of 9.8 km, a secondary range of 8.3 km with a hitting dpm not less than Graf Zeppelin adjusted for their tier, and a superheal in addition to the will for victory. That might help to keep those CV's from dieing in the first 5 minutes of the game!
Flamuu, wake up! This is exactly how the Blyskawica looked back in '63 - no missiles, no lasers. She was rearmed in the '50s with Russian armaments, and more or less remains in that configuration today as a museum ship. It would be awesome to have her in World of Warships, just like the famous ORP Piorun, which Lesta introduced some time ago (check older devblog articles). The 'modern AA from the '60s' on the Błyskawica are actually Russian 37 mm 'Bofors-like' guns, which were constructed before World War II. So, while she was rearmed in the '50s, those guns were far from new tech even then.
'63 Błyskawica is a ship I'd gladly see in European Wows server. In retrospect, I believe not adding Błyska as a tech tree ship, replacing the premium-status version with Grom was a bit of a missed opportunity, as Grom at a date of being sunk in Norway was way closer to what Błyskawica represents in it's current version now, whereas adding Błyskawica as a tech tree ship, and adding a progression throughout 2 major armament refits (replacing 120 mm Guns with british Mk XVI 102 mm in '42, and then 100 mms after the refit made in PRL) could be an interesting idea.
There was 3 version of Blyskawica first with Bofors guns, then after war start , Blyskawica was upgrated with UK guns , and after war when Blyskawica was returned to commie regime , they used soviet guns .
It's honestly a shame Blsyska hasn't been introduced in the loadout she carried for most of her wartime service. All the 4" Brittish guns need to work is 1/4 HE pen just like the Akizuki guns.
Man Super Ships operation. Bots AA were something we asked for our AA for years. An Effective AA where you can get squadrons wipe in seconds if you’re not careful. Seriously, High Level Operations are literally makes Super Carriers lost their aircrafts even with consumable ones. The AA was so terrifying that Super Carriers have to use secondary build to atleast damage something efficiently. Why can’t we have this version of AA in Randoms WeeGee? You can literally done it in Operations.

Communist China after the US withdrew from the country attempted to invade them. It went horribly wrong for the Communist Chinese who found that after 10 years of fighting the Vietnamese picked up allot of experience from both fighting the US and working with them. They actually are planning on buying American weaponry after decades of using Russian equipment. The war in Ukraine is contributing to them doing that.
Vietnam wasn’t neutral, they joined Comecon and signed a Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation in 1978. They were very much part of the Soviet sphere of influence and their relationship with the Soviet Union post-Sino-Soviet Split was part of the reason for China’s invasion, limited the objectives and amount of force used and why China didn’t receive universal condemnation

I will give them this benefit of the doubt on Shinano. It was on of the largest CV's built at the time and despite its record is rather legendary for something like this. With that in mind they've probably been staging for this for quite some time and they probably said "fuck it, we ball" since they need some hype to invigorate the player base.
They missed the opportunity that should the Archerfish hit the Shinanno with a torp, the Shinanno sinks..... Cause at it stands, subs can't sink CVs anyway. As far as I know anyway.
The funny thing is that at least, unlike Asia (excluding Japan of course), Brazil, Argentina and Chile did operate dreadnoughts and they fact that WG didn't add Minas Gerais, Rivadavia and Almirante Latorre as the T3-5 of the Pan-American line is a travesty. Apparently Brazil also wanted to buy a Queen Elizabeth'oid before WWI broke out called Project 781/Riachuelo which could easily fill in T6 leaving only a T7 missing to form a full line.

If Shinano also comes to Lesta, that means that the ships Lesta works on are also coming to WG later on? The advantage would be the spreading of the workload. There might be chances we see a Surcouf submarine cruiser on WG at some point... Xi'an is where one of the first Emperors of China is buried, if memory serves.
Funny, by 47 most Russian, British and American ships had been upgraded to use proximity fuse flack rounds as well as have radar assisted aiming of flack..

Zulfiqar could've easily swapped the single triple turret to a quad. Idk why they still stuck with a triple. That and why are the reload speeds faster than the 283mm or 11 inch guns found on the Scharnhorst lmao
The heavier turret is only placed on the #2 turret if it is a balance issue, you are talking about a nelson class ship which is already weirdly balanced weight wise.. though this isn't Gajin, so they don't balance the ships weight wise..

Oh….. Chakri…. Battleship…. That’s Thai Royal Family name right there…. Is WG got Thai Government allowed such name on the ship? Because Chakri is Royal Family’s name. If they got the name without permissions this can be a huge issue. Or not. I’m not mad about design tho. It similar how I depicted Royal Thai Navy’s Battleship if they obtained one. But also disappointed. Royal Thai Navy should get maybe a hull design from Royal Navy but weaponry would mostly being replaced by IJN weaponry because Thailand are mostly also got Japanese technologies during WWII. Again, some consistency error. Still, Chakri as her name is weird. I thought they would go more on each king for each ships. Like I would rather named this ship HTMS Phra Phutthayotfa Chulalok. And Fix Ops tired of losing a higher% percent of battles fg wg.Tier 8s ships are trash now that over 50% of battles are upterd with nines and ten and super ships do a lot less damage against them, rewards are Fg trash now.And stronger ships are being used used to make sure you loose and get less wins a lot more German ships now being used.WG is making us loose more battles In OPS and over all so they don't have to pay as much using and blue boosters or green boosters. I can' t win or place high against tier 9s 10s and super ships.My Income has been reduced 300,000 credits per game at least because I can't place 1st in most game but 3rd place.....

8:44 the Pensacola has the same thing the 3-gun turret is on a barbette while the two-gun turret is deck level. To me that would make the ship top heavy and sway more with waves. But with battleships it could be to center the weight.
For Pensacola, it was for the hull form. The hull was not wide enough to fit a turret barbette at the front, so a narrower twin had to be installed instead
The logic for Pensacola was the forward part of the hull simply wasn’t wide enough to fit the barbette for the triple turret. The extra weight high up was worth not making the entire ship larger.
For BBs its about torpedo protection. With such a large turret in front there wont be enough space between the barbette and outer hull to absorb torpdo damage. This is one of the Iowas weaknesses. Even the tripple in front doesnt leave enough space for reliable torp protection. If you instead just increase the torp protection, you need make the ship bigger, which adds more ship to protect with armor, making it heavier, slower and more unstable. So having this layout ironically can actually save weight.

9.8km?! That's waaaaay to far a detect range.... 4.5km from sea, 1km from air base obviously should be the starting point!

The heavier turret is only placed on the #2 turret if it is a balance issue, you are talking about a nelson class ship which is already weirdly balanced weight wise.. though this isn't Gajin, so they don't balance the ships weight wise..

I’m not mad about design tho. It similar how I depicted Royal Thai Navy’s Battleship if they obtained one. But also disappointed. Royal Thai Navy should get maybe a hull design from Royal Navy but weaponry would mostly being replaced by IJN weaponry because Thailand are mostly also got Japanese technologies during WWII. 8:44 the Pensacola has the same thing the 3-gun turret is on a barbette while the two-gun turret is deck level. To me that would make the ship top heavy and sway more with waves. But with battleships it could be to center the weight.
For Pensacola, it was for the hull form. The hull was not wide enough to fit a turret barbette at the front, so a narrower twin had to be installed instead
The logic for Pensacola was the forward part of the hull simply wasn’t wide enough to fit the barbette for the triple turret. The extra weight high up was worth not making the entire ship larger.
For BBs its about torpedo protection. With such a large turret in front there wont be enough space between the barbette and outer hull to absorb torpdo damage.
This is one of the Iowas weaknesses. Even the tripple in front doesnt leave enough space for reliable torp protection.
If you instead just increase the torp protection, you need make the ship bigger, which adds more ship to protect with armor, making it heavier, slower and more unstable.
So having this layout ironically can actually save weight.
