I dont think all bullyingSituations are that cut n dried.
i once had a bouncer 20 lbs smaller160 than me 180 but a karate belt say WATCH THIS from 15 ft away, attack me by just running up to me from the side and trying to sucker punch me.
i seen/heard it coming and turned away making it just a glancing blow. Thn i grabbed him and we basically knocked over half the tables in the bar trying to get over on the other guy and i was eventually grabbed by all his bouncer buddies and thrown out.
Weeks later in a diif bar, the same lil punk came running up and this time just cuff me on the back of the head as i was about sit down with a table full of friends, then quickly retreat to stand with his buddies 15 ft away.
None of the guys i was with were least bit fighters and wouldve watch me get beat to a pulp if i attacked him/all 3-4 of them rather than help so this time i just scoffed, waved him off and said fuck off .
He taunted me from 15 ft away with his buddies but never came closer so i didnt escalate.
I already had a reputation as a fighter so i felt no need to defend my ego from such a cowardly attempt to bait me into getting beat by 3-5 guys or just ruining another evening getting ejected before it even started or worse going to jail or emergency

I remember my “homeboy” decided to try to rob me. I was an active drug addict at the time.. so was he. He had about a good 45lbs on me..
I knew I was gonna lose. I hadn’t eaten in more than 3 days at that point.. I had no business fighting.. but I was too scared to stand up for myself as a kid, so I promised myself I’d never let myself down like that again. So I fought him.. ended up with a broken nose lol. Was completely flat I had to straighten it myself at a park bathroom mirror lmao I could barely even see. But that experience is what got me clean and off the streets.

Ive trained at a few MMA Gyms and Ive gotten into it with all types of fighters whether it be ones who train or amateur contenders. They all saw me as the small, new, young guy. A lot of fighters are cowards for picking on people they know aren’t as skilled as them at martial arts and I always let them know that and that I didn’t care how intensely they trained. Some people see a kid with more potential and get insecure.

If someone does accept bad treatment, its like teaching others how he can be treated. I think one of the best advices i can add: Develope inner confidence. Don't be someone who needs external validation or attention. Be able to move and act silent - unbothered, even when a group of people is arround. Be able to do that without giving the people arround you any attention. That sends a clear message.

One day i drove into the alley on my moto and he tried to intimidate me by starting shit and saying he'd teach me a lesson. I called him on his bluff bc i was tired of not standing up for myself my entire life. He squared up to me and me to him. I stared dead on in his eyes and in that moment I didnt care if i got hurt or not. Knew in my bones I couldn't back down this time, even though i hadnt learned to box at this point. 10 longest seconds of my life went by and he backed down. I went upstairs to my apartment and shook like a wet dog from all the adrenaline. One of the proudest moments of my life and I'll always remeber it for the rest of my life. All I got to say is no one's really trying to fight out here 90% of the time it's just posturing. Most men aren't going to know the attitude to have if they never put their life on the line making their own decisions. Get kicked out your living situation, or try so hard to change you willing to die for it. Stand 10 toes down on who you are so much you're willing to get hit for it. That's just called having morals & not backing down in the game of life.

Your video is great was adding the perspective that the adult world is easier to deal with bc you'll get thousands of dollars for provoking someone and bonus points if you don't even care that it's just 1 person who doesn't fit in a your job trying to jump you it's not like a mob trying to go all out on you.
Psychological bullying is different which is why men typically learn sooner or later not to make the wrong friends whether it's work, prison, school etc. your friends can sabotage your rep & ruin whatever situation you get thrown into
It's better to watch from a distance, get on good terms with more people & learn how to put yourself out there favorably and even bravely just not recklessly
I've had grown men tell me I have anger issues bc of how I deal with situations but there's no emotion when I bring a woman's boyfriend to her, and counter whatever comment her boyfriend told me. etc. You get what I'm saying. Men learn skills to deal with the smaller petty things it's about intervening early & not accepting "karmic" behaviors such as a handshake after witnessing some scummy go down you already know
What you touched on was the harder stuff
I want to add there are attitudes from bullies such as superiority or privilege if one guy perceives you as "You know you're a B**** so ik you're not going to disagree with me" It makes me want to give them the stern facial expression and outright disagree. This can come from hood people etc. they don't think someone born middle class has that but it's a skill more average people need to sharpen when dealing with a bully
The more confidence people pick up on the easier this gets like training a muscle

I did seven years in state prison (I used to be a dumbass) and the first thing I was taught was do not let anyone disrespect you for free. That goes into the next lesson and the topic of the video, never back down from a fight even if you think you'll lose. If you let someone disrespect you and you back down then you will be a target for the entire time you're locked up. I'm 5:10 about 155-165. Played sports and lifted my whole life but I don't cut an intimidating figure, so naturally I was tried a few times. I took those lessons to heart and you know what happened? Except for one guy every other person who I called out copped dueces soon as we're in the cell away from the cameras, guards and any help they may get. Not saying I'm a badass at all, but I did have my mind made up that I was gonna unload on anyone who squared up with me. People like that wanna look tough in front of others by picking on someone they think is weak, but they don't have any heart and that makes up for a lot in a fight or confronting people. If they expect someone to just fold when they don't and the target becomes the aggressor they don't know how to react. If you're not already locked up you should try to avoid fights as much as possible because that's a great way to get locked up.

Unfortunately, being kind and empathetic is often interpreted or perceived as weakness, even though the person could actually be more firm than others who appear aggressive on the exterior or at the outset. But perception and first impressions do matter, at least in many contexts/environments. In business this seems sure, but e.g. among clergy or in caretaking profession, being kind (to a certain degree) would probably be rewarded and considered a positive characteristic.

I saw a couple of times where things got confrontational between inmates, but never was directly threatened. I made a point to look confident, but not cocky, friendly and respectful, but not ass-kissy, and to be laid back as much as possible. Maybe I just was never in a scenario where I was going to get into a fight anyway, but I at least felt safer by trying to maintain that attitude.

The strategy for avoiding physical bullying reminds me of the story of Frederick Douglass, a man born into slavery in the US. One day, he was about to be beaten by an overseer but he decided he would not comply. He seized the overseer by the neck and fought with him for hours until the overseer left, exhausted. Douglass said that from that day on, he would put up a fight whenever he was about to be beaten, and he writes in his autobiography that from that day forward, he never received a severe beating at the hands of a master again.

They conveniently don't often teach that story to kids when they're learning about Douglas, and it's a defining story of him. I wonder why...

Dude my thing I realized about fighting, it only takes one mistake to mess up your face so bad that you can't get laid anymore, for the rest of your life. No matter how good you are at fighting all it takes is an oddly shaped pebble or if someone dropped a pencil on the sidewalk somewhere and you slide your foot on it while you try to take a swing at somebody, or maybe you just happen to get your ass kicked really bad that time.
True story also my one boss was this New York rich kid and he had to get 2 separate nose job surgeries to fix his nose because it got broken so bad when he was in high school and got his head slammed on a table in a fight w some football players who he started sh*t with. His nose was messed up for years basically his whole adult prime was ruined and he was balding real bad by the time he got it fixed

I’m an Air Force brat. When my dad retired, he brought us back to his home town: Baltimore, MD. I spent a chunk of my childhood in Germany. By the time this happened, I was a fluent German speaker and had an accent that you could cut with a knife. I might as well have stepped out of a UFO on my first day of school. Fortunately, my dad taught me to box. I fought a lot, especially in middle school, probably got my ass kicked most of the time but eventually a demonstrable willingness/ability to maul someone in the process paid off: “There’s easier targets around here. That little fcker is crazy.”

Interesting video on so many levels....Triggered much thought and memories in me as well.
When I was much younger than I am now (and also much stupider) I was bullied quite a bit....(Bullied too by people in places/institutions that basically had NO business bullying ANYBODY....Basically paying LIP SERVICE to the concepts of "Do-Gooderism", and sometimes not even bothering with THAT....The "lip service" that is.🙄) I also realize that my "torture" that I have endured could have been at least MORE "Heavenly" or "blissfull" to SOMEONE ELSE?? (Generally NOT a good idea to bitch about "paper cuts" on "fingers" to someone with a "BROKEN ARM". How does something like THAT get QUANTIFIED....????....I have NO idea.)
Though MY torment by bullies reminded me of a cliche I myself learned in the MILITARY..... (("Heaven" for bullies....The Military.....Though a PEACETIME military MIGHT be more "HeavenLY" for bullies than one fully engaged in an actual war???🙄🤣)).....
    ......."Shit rolls DOWNHILL"
In other words, "bullying breeds bullying" or rather "assholes breed assholes" or EVEN...."Demons breed demons". (Of course there will always be exceptions to the rule, but probably not too many..... "Exceptions" to the "rule"😶)
Sooo, as a "weakling" MYSELF, I dont think I necessarily went OUT of my way to LOOK FOR and FIND those "weaker" than myself, BUT.... if I "bumped" into them--then I generally made sure that I was the "alpha wolf"....Until IF or WHEN I may have overstepped my "bounds"????
But this is one of the "benefits" of getting older....Just discovering that it gets pretty exhausting playing the SOCIAL GAME. (Not that I am ANTI social...Which, to me by the way, is a mildly bullying thing to label someone as...."Antisocial"....But I am often NOT as "PROsocial" as I "should" be????)
I am also "young" enough that I MAY still take "passive aggressive" pot shots at people that I MIGHT think MIGHT be needed to be "taken down a notch" even if that means pointing out to others such people are wearing "the EMPEROR'S new clothes"....Or that their "tighty whiteys" may have SHIT STAINS in them????
Is that a wise thing to do?? Probably not.
But I have noticed that "passive aggression" is probably better than ACTIVE aggression....At least in the SHORTER run??
But having discovered "Buddhism" or more "Far Eastern thought", I AM starting to realize that MAYBE its best to be more AWARE of one's own behavior and "fly" LESS on "Autopilot"???? In other words, be AWARE enough to KNOW when ones OWN bullying might be unnecessary and unlike "Nike"....Just DON'T do it??
But I am human, and I DO get annoyed/irritated, and am NOT disciplined enough in my "Buddhist/Far Eastern mindset" to NOT respond to ALL such "stimuli", so I MAY then "bully" someone to get them to "cease and desist" with whatever they are doing that I might find annoying/irtitating??
I also get BORED too, so I MAY amuse myself at someone else's "expense" and that MAY involve "bullying"??? (Or sit "idly" by while SOMEONE ELSE amuses THEMSELVES at SOMEONE ELSE'S expense....That is someone who is NOT me?? Maybe even laugh at the antics or "bullying" by the "class clown"....Just as long as I'm NOT sitting in the "FRONT ROW" at the "Comedy Club" where the comedian starts picking on ME... Because I might be "quick" with the "pen" or "typewriter" but I am SLOWER than "continental drift" with my "tongue"!!!🙄
🙄 Please excuse the "passive aggressive" look on this Emotion's face! 🤣😉🫡

Haha I got you. Yeah the military is the worst place for a lot of that shit. And a lot of times, it goes WAY too far, especially with young girls.
When I was in, they were making a BIG push on sexual harassment because of this.
