Maybe because of "World's greatest country" rhetoric at the beginning. Just leave off Phil, the music is sublime but in this day jiving on about the veritable police state that is Murica is deluded. It's the agenda line though: say it enough times in your cinema, TV and media, and the public will believe it and not ask questions, let alone wonder about how others across the world have it. Just saying that there is far more liberty in Northern Europe, comparatively.
I’ve seen a lot of excellent players over time (Frank Marino, Clapton, Mark Knopfler, Steve Morse x2, Trower, Rory Gallagher, etc.) and have played for 53 years but Philip Sayce has to rank near or at the top of my favorites. He has incredible speed but he never loses sight of being "tasty". He’s also a very nice and humble young man. Would kill to get a few lessons from him. 😎🤘
i do agree with you jupiter moonguage i know exactly where your coming from but hey this guy is unbelievable blues guitar player and performer , he blows me away everytime !!!
As the years go passing by was penned in 1959 & 1st recorded by Peppermint Harris. Since I've Been Loving You" by Led Zeppelin, released in 1970 on the album Led Zeppelin III
Should play in Dublin Ireland Awesome seen Eric Gales in Dublin and Eric Clapton and BB King not many blues bands real music like that play here its a pitty
It tells a lot about the state of guitar when a guy this good is playing a dive bar ( not even a club) that doesn’t require a real PA system. What’s he playing for ? $50 and a pizza? It’s obvious that his talents have garnered zero financial benefit as he even dresses like a poor imitation SRV Goodwill shopper in some videos. I’m sorry but if this is the payoff for being a phenomenal blues player.......there is no point.
When I first heard texas flood's now celebrated solo I thought "so what? sounds like a complete Albert King rip off". But that's the beauty, isn't it? Learning and borrowing from the greats that came before.
what a talent...this dude should be HUGE!!
Just not on this planet
Hats off to the drummer here. He keeps the 3/4 pocket really well. Philip goes all over cascading all around the beat, amazing guitarist. Wow!

How Can You Put a Thumbs Down On This? It Amazes Me IT IS SOOOOO GOOD
The tone of his guitar, especially the intro, reminds me a bit of Chris Duarte's 'Shiloh'. Philip is fast becoming one of my favourite players.

As the years go passing by was penned in 1959 & 1st recorded by Peppermint Harris. Since I've Been Loving You" by Led Zeppelin, released in 1970 on the album Led Zeppelin III
Let me add i wouldn't be a bit surprised if jimmy page ripped of part of the song...Seems he was very good at doing just that.

I think you are missing the point
Philp must be happy at home Looks like he putting on a few pounds.
Helps the sustain a lot.
why he plays like steve ray?... :/
When I first heard texas flood's now celebrated solo I thought "so what? sounds like a complete Albert King rip off". But that's the beauty, isn't it? Learning and borrowing from the greats that came before.
Because he can
He’s smooth in his delivery with a very soulful vocal . I don’t see srv other then the fact that he’s a fantastic player.
