Tbh the dc whine get's old after a little while, both my dc reels are just sitting on the shelves now. They are not a bad reel for beginners to learn on but I'd rather more control over the brakes. Also I would choose the SLX DC XT from japan over these 2 reels, mgl spool and i-dc 5 chip and cheaper than the Curado DC

I would go with the curado dc, but I’ve never had a scorpion so I don’t know about the scorpion. I liked a lews laser SG casting rig for a good and affordable rod

If you absolutely want the dc whine the slx dc is fine. The mgl 70 is a much better reel, though it will have a smaller spool you have more control of your braking system

I got mine at Dicks Sporting Goods. It’s Shimanos reel, you can find them online also. The DC ones are the ones that make the cool noise so if you want that noise make sure to get a DC. Like the SLX DC, Curado DC, Metanium DC, Scorpion DC, or Antares DC. Hopefully that helps if not let me know 😁

The DC stands for “digital control” it’s a tiny chip inside. Keeps from backlash if used correctly. Way better than hg in my own opinion give it a shot one day can’t beat these reels man. Or if you are okay with spending some cash get the Metanium Dc. It’s 500$+ but worth every penny.

I use fluorocarbon. Braid/mono is for setting 1 on the breaking system. The best piece of advice I could give is don’t drop it in dirt or sand cause that really can mess it up. Try to learn how to oil it every once in a while it will keep it in good condition. You got yourself a good reel! 😁

I remember fishing baitcasting reels 20 years ago and yur thumb was the break and it took skill ro use. Im getting back into nait casters again and im going to het the Curado DC. Ive earned my stripes to let a reel think foe me. I always suggest you get w cheap caster fisrt. Then you can say you know how to fish q baitcaster. Now everyone is a pro without touching the spool. And dont tell me you know how to fish a baitcaster if you start off with a Curado DC. There is much skill involved at all. Just say you have a bait caster, sont say your an expert with a baitcaster.

You have a whole lot less line on the slx dc compared to the curado dc, which makes a huge difference.

Yeah both are able to, just gotta clean it afterward. The best DC reel for saltwater I think is the Excense DC

I just got my Sox dc the other day and it smelled bad and the box smells bad as well but it’s the smoothest reel I have ever fished
