What other questions do you have about giving birth to your twins?

I just gave birth to my twins a week ago at 38 and a half weeks. I had wanted to do a homebirth but its illegal to homebirth twins in my country. So I labored at home for as long as possible and showed up at the hospital when the first baby was crowning :P essentially, they HAD to deliver me naturally, there was no other choice. They were trying to strap monitors on me and take blood pressure and stuff but they couldn't because I was pushing. So that was amazing. No time for them to pressure me into getting an epidural, no time to talk me into getting a c-section etc. I had the privilege of doing it completely naturally. (Except that I was lying on my side because I had come into the hospital on a stretcher. That was the only downside). My second twin was breech and they turned him around from the outside but also by going in there and guiding his head down because he was very high up. Again, they basically had no choice as I did not have an iv port, no epidural, no hospital tag or bracelet, I was an emergency, so they had to do what they were trained for. I could no longer feel the contractions after the first one was born. I guess my uterus just had so much empty room and space that it wasn't successfully pushing on the second twin. They had to tell me when to push. They were born 30 minutes apart because of that. Recovery has been more difficult than with singles. The cramps afterwards are out of this world.

I have 2 c section and am planning to have twins GOD willing, can carrying twins have problems to the previous cs? How long should I wait to get pregnant again? Please answer

    • @TheMaternityMentor
      @TheMaternityMentor  2 роки тому +4

Thanks for asking. Having 2 c sections and then being pregnant with twins may place you at higher risk for uterine rupture but that is very rare. Your twins will probably also be born earlier than your other pregnancies which reduces some other risks. The recommendation for waiting to get pregnant for any woman is 2 years. This allows the body to heal properly. However, you do want to individually speak with your healthcare provider so they can review any specific risk factors you may personally have that could change that time frame. If you can, please like my video and subscribe to my channel. It really helps me out! Thanks!

Why is it that twin B can be delivered breeched but twin A cannot
    I’m currently 37 weeks with di-di twins
My whole pregnancy twin A has been vertex and twin B has flipped a few times. For about 2-3 weeks they were both vertex and at my last appointment when I got my membrane sweep my OB noticed that twin A turned breech. He doesn’t expect that I’ll make it another week but I’m very anxious and stressed about the thought of getting a c-section
Side note: I have already previously had 2 vaginal births no complications

Thanks for asking! I'm sorry this is happening. Unfortunately Baby A needs to turn or you may need a C/S. However, it is possible to have that happen in the next week. I am sending you love and light and healing thoughts.

@@TheMaternityMentor thank you . I just wanted to know like what is the reason of why don’t doctors perform ecv’s on baby A
Also from the time I wrote this comment to now I think he turned back over. One night I was feeling so much pressure on one side and I kept seeing my stomach shifting around. Now I feel hiccups towards my pubic area and kicks towards my upper abdomen. I’m crossing fingers that I’m right .
I read to sleep with one leg as high as possible on a pillow and the other straight and it seem to work

      @@TheMaternityMentor thank you…
UPDATE: I went into labor at 37 weeks and 5 days
Baby A was vertex and baby B was completely breeched
Unfortunately the doctor wasn’t comfortable delivering baby B breech and because I was so far dilated when I went into labor and delivery I had to quickly make a choice on whether I would deliver baby A vaginally and have a c-section for baby B right after and I had to make that choice pretty quickly
Checked in about 5pm and was taken to the OR at about 7pm.
Ultimately the c-section turned out to be the most safest route for me in the end as unknowingly I was developing preeclampsia or in the first stages of it. Plus baby B was tangled in her umbilical cord.
Now recovering from the c-section it’s been tough but I’m managing and enjoying my bundles
