Can the SketchUp plans be modified to build a 4 or 8 harness power loom? I have about 60 original tartan designs to weave. Tartans are always woven in a twill weaving structure.
Downloaded shetchup yesterday and then tried to download your loom files and it didn't work. Any ideas. We definitely want to build the loom thank you, Clyde

Do I need to take anything in consideration when doing so? How fast could I go.. how wide? Well...I know..that if you go with a bigger width..the longer the distance for the shuttle.. @@dominikschleinin2889 with this design you can build a 1.5 meter wide fabric loom without problems, the speed of the loom can be between 100 to 150 rpm but it is necessary to increase the diameter of the shafts. mainly the shaft that moves the reed

Good afternoon Jacob. I wanted to ask if you would be prepare to share the over pick loom design. I am very inspired by your two looms. I am hoping to be able , firstly have the space available and the capital, to build a power loom in the foreseeable future. I would like to know what advantages and disadvantages, in your experience, does the over pick and under pick systems have. I have been seriously looking at the under pick style of loom. I need a versatile machine that would be able to handle a variety of different weights of cloth. I am hoping to be able to set up a vertically integrated mini mill as a skills transfer and employment project. In South Africa our weaving and textile industries have been all but annihilated by the flood of cheap badly made Chinese products. As a consequence we are loosing vital skills, which I feel we need to urgently address. I look forward to your reply.

What is keeping the thing that goes from one side to another from going sideways?
The read nd the yarn sheets. The lower yarn sheet is above the shuttle race.The opening formed by the upper and lower yarn sheets are called the shed.
