Just tried them out and they came out INCREDIBLE! Istg this channel is legit my discovery of the year. Love how simple and relatively healthy your recipes are! :)
I made these today and they are delicious! Experimented with raisins, taro, and sweet corn. Taro is definitely my favorite, but they're all good. Even my roommate who isn't a bit fan of coconut really liked them!
Made this today, left out the palm sugar (local market sold a small bag for $14!!) ended up using brown sugar.. still delicious. I think next time I might try and toast the coconut shavings before adding them to the batter, might even try to using only reg flour instead of mixing in rice flour in order to get a crunchier waffle. The flavor though was incredible!
It's been decades since I had coconut waffles, I remember eating them as a child too! I recently got some from the Thai Street food vendors out in L.A and now I'm hooked again. Thanks for making this vid, I wanna try to make some of my own.
I made them today. They came out very good. Just like you said they are not crispy like regular waffle but we loved them. I used my regular waffle iron. I'm going to put the leftovers in the toaster tomorrow for breakfast.
Just made these , it is wonderful and taste so good by itself, no need any other syrup to go with it. I have tried many waffle recipes, this is my favourite and the best by far! Thank you for the great recipe and all the useful tips!
I jus got my waffle iron n the first recipe to try is this! I used brown sugar instead and the waffle is crisp on the outside while tender n soft on the inside as per what you mentioned! Can’t stop snacking on this! Thanks so much Pai! This recipe is a keeper!

I just got a waffle iron for Christmas and I can't wait to make these waffles. They sound yummy and different. Thanks for the recipe and happy New Years.
I used to eat this like once or twice a year only during the holidays when a distant relative would bring some at the party, so glad I can now make this on my own without having to wait! Ridiculously easy, didn't have a scale to mesure the flour but 75 g is about 1/3 cup. I had some pandam leaves in the fridge which I put into the coconut milk/palm sugar mix, don't know if it gave it much fragrance or not but I thought I'd try it. I also added some leftover taro that I chopped up, so delicious I had to refrain myself from eating all 6 waffles.
Can I use all rice flour to substitute for the all purpose flour. Also is it sweet rice flour or just rice flour that you use? These look yummy and I would like to create a gluten free version. Thank you. Wishing you & your family a Happy New Year
Omg, you have a Norwegian waffle iron! 😃 I've never seen anyone outside my country have it! And thank you so much for this recipe! My stomach dosn't do well with wheat anymore, and now I finally have a recipe for my waffle iron again. 🥰
Made plain waffles in my heart shaped iron. Absolute failure ...i haven't used the iron for years but I think it needs to be thrown out . Keep the recipes coming I love them.
I feel like crying whenever I see a dairy free recipe, hahaha! I'm allergic to a specific milk protein. If I get in touch with dairy, I end up in the hospital, even through cross-contamination. Thank you so much for this recipe! I always wished I could eat waffles and now I can, thanks to you! YEI! /o/
Can I make this entirely gluten free by using rice flour only? And if so, do I need to add sticky rice flour as well for it's glutinous effect? It looks delicious!
Hi Pailin, Do you know how to make pandan waffles? It’s my mother’s favorite dessert but I can’t find a truly authentic recipe 😭 please see this. Also, absolutely love your videos!
Hi Joy! I couple people asked this as well (see below) and Pai's answer was "You can, but the texture won't be as nice. It'll lack elasticity and softness. I would use gluten free flour mix instead" Cheers!
Can you show us what your palm sugar looks like pre-crumbled? I can't seem to find it anywhere and want to know what to look for if I order from Amazon. Thanks so much!
Hi Pailin. Can you please tell us what waffle brand did you use? Also, tell us how much you like this waffle maker? Is it worth to buy it as I don't have one yet and planning to get one but need your advice first. Thank you.
@@lienngocle7585 Sorry actually our fault - the link to Amazon changed and we didn't notice - will fix that but in the meantime it's here www.amazon.com/s?k=cucinapro+1475 Cheers and apologies! Adam
Actually hold on one sec - when they changed it we're not sure if it's any good any more. So she says she prefers this one www.amazon.com/ChefsChoice-WafflePro-Traditional-Temperature-6-Setting/dp/B000A3PBWO/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=chef%27s+choice+wafflepro+840&qid=1589919023&sr=8-1
That look like a Swedish waffle iron! We make really thin, crisp waffles, best served (in my opinion) with whipped cream and cloudberry preserve :) I'll be sure to try this recipe, it looks delicious!
I don't own a waffle iron (shock! lol), and I don't intend on getting one (lack of storage space mostly). So, my question is: Can I try this recipe using my sandwich maker? (Snack Master, toastie maker, etc)? Thanks!
GoranMak waffles are a type of pancake.its called a waffle mainly cause of its distinctive shape😂.well you can heat up a skillet or a pan and just pour the batter and cook it until crispy but it will never be the same as using a waffle iron! Well any appliances that is non stick is fine😉😁👍👍
Ryner Lute Have you ever seen a sandwich maker? There are groves and lines which achieve the same thing - that's why my question was posted. Thanks for your input.
Hi paili I am Krishna from Mumbai india i watch ur all repice & like to try this coconut waffles rp is very delicious but i don't eat egg I Am vegetarian so can you suggest what can i use replace eggs so Pls guide me👍💟👌👌👌👌
They are great and exactly the style we use to have them in Germany :-) For all german fans: it does not work with flour type 405 since it contains too little gluten! So the waffles will break apart. Do use flour type 550 instead!
How are you? Brief introduction, my mom is full Thai and my (and I as well are half) Right now my brother in law is stationed overseas, so my sister and nieces are over there as well. I hope you don't mind that I shared this video with here on Facebook. You do such a great job explaining things that even my mom has trouble with the language barrier since she barely speaks English. Thank you and I appreciate!

I would use a gluten free flour mix instead, rice flour alone won't give a good texture.
Look good, I will try to make them, thanks ❤️
Thank you for sharing your recipe . I really like the way that you express your show . I love & see you next ,Sis ....
Thank you for all wonderful recipes please is palm sugar is same as coconut palm sugar

Do you know how to make pandan waffles? It’s my mother’s favorite dessert but I can’t find a truly authentic recipe 😭 please see this.
Also, absolutely love your videos!
What means "a cup"? In german its 0,2 L. is that correct? It look like it is more in the video
can i make it as a pancake?
I think so, but it'll be thin pancakes.
Hi, Pailin can I use cane sugar instead of palm sugar? By the way, I really like the way you talk and smile. You're amazing, eh!
Can you use the measure is cup and spoons only??
Google is great for making conversions (it's what I use) - try it out! :) Cheers! Adam

I don't have Palm sugar and is not available here in India so can I use demerara sugar or jaggery in this recipe??????
You can order Palm Sugar in India online. It is costly... but in case you want to: www.ebay.in/itm/232101285588?aff_source=Sok-Goog
Atul Sharma if it is not available? So what will you do?
yourjoking Right thank you
Can you just use rice flour or can substitute the all purpose flour for almond flour?
You can, but the texture won't be as nice. It'll lack elasticity and softness.
Ohh that’s a Swedish waffle iron ❤️
Pai, what do I need to add to make it crispie? Thank you!
No way to find this waffle maker with this link!! Why aren’t the 2 links and the waffle maker in the description?
That look like a Swedish waffle iron! We make really thin, crisp waffles, best served (in my opinion) with whipped cream and cloudberry preserve :) I'll be sure to try this recipe, it looks delicious!

GoranMak ohhh I see... Have fun!😄👍
What North River said, and the batter likely won't rise to fill the sandwich maker.
Pailin's Kitchen Thanks! Noted! xo
Is it chewy or crispy?
Yes :) (crispy on the outside chewy inside)
wow 8 minutes ago! good morning from california!
Hello Pailin, can you suggest what can I substitute with eggs please :)
Quick question. I have a gluten intolerance. Could you use all rice flour instead of a mixture?
not if you want to maintain a good texture, you're better off using a gluten free flour mix.
So you are using the cheapo Chefs Choice waffle maker....
is it sticky rice flour or normal rice flour?
normal.
Hi paili I am Krishna from Mumbai india i watch ur all repice & like to try this coconut waffles rp is very delicious but i don't eat egg I Am vegetarian so can you suggest what can i use replace eggs so Pls guide me👍💟👌👌👌👌

In Belgium we also eat our waffles as a snack not breakfast :)
can I use this on my food truck and stuff with a savory chicken kinda like a taco??
Fried chicken with it?
hey pailin
can I make it without egg?
they look so yammi, I truly want to make it. but without egg!
goyal goyal use the follow your heart egg. that's likely your best bet... if you can't find that, perhaps egg replacer will do
