This song brings me to tears everytime.
Such a unique voice, his back story is equally as unique.
Eric, I’m glad you loved this! This song was awarded multiple awards…Satellite award, critics Choice movie award, Academy award and Emmy Award. All for best song, which led him to be Artist of the year that year. ❤

Great lyrics. Nice vocals.
I only recently stumbled onto Ryan’s music when I heard it on the radio out on a road trip (89.1 Goldfield, Gunfighter was the song I think). I’ve come to really appreciate his music. I appreciate artists who leave room in their stories for my stories, if that makes sense. Seems like that’s the way it was for you with this song. Tom Petty, Bob Dylan, John Prine among others have that poetic knack. It’s special.
Tbh I'm baffled more people havent reacted to this.
Absolutely love this song. Even though I've not led the life of Bad Blake, but it sure brings a lot of reflections.
