I can still remember going to the local Ford/Mercury dealer back in the fall of 1966. There on the showroom floor I saw the first 1967 that I ever saw. Wow, what a car!

My parents owned two of these back in the day..a 67 and a 68...loved them. I don't think this is an official Ford color from the time (one of ours was close to this ) but it should have been...it's by far the best I've ever seen. I hope this beautiful example has the 428 (the 429 started in '68). The 428 was a very smooth, refined engine. Our '68's 429 was a balling brute.
Retro Futureistic in my Opinion underrated.

1987 . After it had been sitting under a pecan tree in our nextdoor neighbors yard for years ,only needing an electric motor for the passenger window. Not wanting to get rid of the car, my husbands patience and persistence , a deal was eventually made. It took some elbow grease to get that tree sap off her and the seats, well, I did the best I could to make them white again. Our oldest daughter was born that July and I drove that car the rest of the summer into that fall,but to no avail we had no luck finding a motor for the window and it was stuck rolled down , For the sake of keeping our new baby warm and healthy that winter we had to sell or trade her off before it turned to cold. Built the same year I was born.
To this day, I wish I could have put a tarp over that Bird , only to drive her one more summer and kept that ol'67 ThunderBird .Lol same year I was born.
My dad had a '69 4 door Landau that two of the windows refused to lower on- he unsealed the motors , ran a current through check with an ohm meter - replaced the collapsed brush springs with those from a couple of Bic fountain pens - problem solved, windows worked as when new.
