I just bought an early issue Chadwick on ebay for next to nothing. Plaid covered. Was told it was a NAMM amp. Other than the mounts for the Mercury trannies I was very impressed with the build quality. Immediately put different bolts and locking nuts on the mounts. Should be good now. The sound is like a JMP with better voicing. Still honeymooning but it does rip. The amp is MUCH better the louder it gets. The master is o.k. but it sounds better VERY loud.
i think if someone played shows that didnt involve micing (club gigs/bars) crank cabs all the way, good speakers, awesome cab matreial (the wood) but since when ur playing big shows in a famous band, all that matters is the speakers, becaues its getting runned threw the p.a/house
That's true, but I think Krank takes the cake when you consider what you're getting. Each their own, I don't think the tone is shit. I just don't think it's worth $2800 for a halfstack or whatever the hell the price is now.

I am a musician and a guitar and amp tech for a band.Most people don't know shit about amps,when u first buy a brand new tube amp u have to turn it on with out playing threw it,and just leave it on for 24 hours or so to COOK the tubes like they said on here.

and what is different after "cooking", instead of playing them for 24 hours- is it for the lifetime of a tube or has it impacts on the sound, too?
