At 9:41 you waved at a passing boat and I have to say thank you for returning such a small gesture. It's not hard to throw a hand up. We as fishermen are like an extended family. I believe it is so rude to look away when someone gives you that small sign of friendship, and familiarity. Keep all the helpful tips coming.
This whole week I haven't put down the same Storm Arashi Cover Pop, I've already had to go through 3 hook changes from the fish wearing them out. Best Fishing channel on UA-cam, Period!!!!
Matt!!! That exact scenario with the underspin and the Shad schools happened to me a few weeks ago. Caught my PB 7.11lb. We saw the school swirling around like a hurricane and I threw a 1/4oz underspin and ran it underneath the school and that big girl smashed it. So awesome. I might have already commented about that on a previous video. And Electric Shad color in Keitech is one of my favorite colors!!!
Thanks mat always love watching your videos you teach me a lot every time I have caught a lot of fish using all of your techniques that I've learned once again thanks brother
Thanks Matt! It’s been a long time since I fished the Shad spawn.I definitely needed the brush up tips and confidence reminder! Happy trails and chunky hogs
Lol i was about to post that spot with the rock face looks super familiar. Then you said it about the time the old rail bridge came into view. A train went in when the original collapsed back before 1900. It's a smaller locomotive over on the other side of the dam where Killen is. When TBA flooded where the original working town was that had grown up around the train depot, they left the small engine that moved cars around sitting. A bunch of the oldest houses there in Killen now, are built from the same lumber they tore from the buildings before the switch from the multi lock system to the dam.
Oh man wished I knew you were in town it would have been great to meet you in person. Florence is Great keep coming back and visiting See you at Perkins Bait shop!
Gong to put this out there again. When are you going to design the Matt Allen underspin head? You have the best swimbait head now we all want and need you to design more options like underspin and weedless. Love the content and love the videos. Best in the business period. Thanks for all you do
Amazing to see you guys out in the southeast. Would love to see you come through some of the Wnc and North Ga lakes. There is great potential with the big baits as Southern Trout Eaters shower many years ago.
Shad will spawn around 60 degrees in Ohio. They'll start late at night, around midnight. Sometimes they come in waves or just steady all night. You can lure them with a steady light. Spend a solid night out during spawn on a musky and flathead lake and it's awesome.
Great vid Matt, lots of great info as usual! You talked me into getting an LV500 last year and I havent been sorry I paid for that bait. I will suggest the Rico is the best popper I've ever bought and worth the $!! I hate spending that much on baits but dont regret these two at all!!
Awesome tips dude! Out here on Mead I noticed our giant gizzard shad were paired up in the shallows with the carp last month. They are still pretty heavy and most of the fish crashing are either the gizzard and the carp. But the LMB and SMB have been going off. But the LMB and SMB still wouldn't hit my cranks and lipless. I got a few on the small spro shad but the ned rig has been so damn dominate out here. But I'll play around some more tomorrow with the shad lures.
Amazing you have made it into Alabama already. Hope y’all are having a good time. I saw this shad spawn last weekend at Douglas Lake in Tn but your video wasn’t out yet so I didn’t do so hot...lol. I’ll try it next weekend. Thanks a lot for such great videos always. Safe travels and hope to see you around Chickamauga Lake soon.
We're here! The videos lag behind a fair bit (editing) but Instagram is up to date if you want to track us down. We're in and around Chatanooga the next 4 days 👍
Hey Matt and Tim, I live in south Louisiana and fish a lot in bayou, rivers, and brackish water lake. Do you have any insight on those kinds of areas of lures and tactics?
Matt. Dude i got to meet you... please stop by Rollins lake on your way home. You are amazing how fast you can break down a lake. I need just one day GUIDE trip with you. And Thank You.
I got on some 4 and 5lb hybrid the other day. all day long they were in a cove eating big balls of threadfin, chasing them in a circle. I could constantly see the ball of bait with hybrid flashing through them feeding. You think the shad were spawning or the hybrid were just corralling them and feeding?
Awesome! Glad to see you on my home lake. What do you think about Pickwick lake? And how long are you in town? Watch all your vids and have learned a lot from you guys.
Great video Matt. I had no idea the Quake was better than the LV for bank fishing! I’ve been throwing the Raid level Vib but have yet to catch one. I’ve noticed you guys have been showing some 6th Sense lures. I absolutely love their products and their colors are just beautiful.👍
just watched this on 6/3/21 was up at Melonies last week and seen the Shad blowing up just like you said... 8'-10' across & 5'-6' wide school .. --at first i thought is was a brush pile / weed bed .. but that shadow started moving and changing shape lol (stained water) then i seen um up and down the bank busting the surface never seen that happen before ,,, seen singles and may a few do it before but not THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS ...... caught 7 spots on spinner bait Red craw Crank bait throwing at the bank :-) going back to try your tips / tackle ....
Been having some Epic Weekend at the local awesome Lake Berryessa chasing the Shad spawn for the past month, hopefully this weekend the Shad spawn is still hot, my Baits were the Heddon super spook, KVD Mega Dawg, Blade Runner underspin with Keitech Electric Blue swing impact, Rick Clunn jerkbait purple green apple, S Waver
I just read an article a few days ago where a scientist says that bass can’t see the color chartreuse. I wonder what your thoughts are on this? I know been ripping lips with chartreuse spinnerbaits for years. Oh yeah, that LV500 in ghost minnow is one of my go to baits, thanks to you guys! Thanks
I have shad on my local water but Im not even sure they are gizzard shad, the range from 8"-14" in length. They seem to be in deeper water (3'-5') but near shore. Does this pattern apply?
Matt, what are you throwing you Rover on? It's a medium sized walking bait, but curious if you're throwing it on your typical medium fast 6.5+ foot rodd or something slightly larger like a 735cb.
Probably more towards the 7'-7'4" rods. For walking style lures in the super spook class, Gary Dobyns made the 734c exactly for it. If you want to go to lighter weight walking lures, you can look at the 733c.
Went fishing at around noon today, water was 65°, clear sunny day. Shad where everywhere up against the banks, they where so active it sounded like flowing water. Never seen them do this, assumed this was there spawn, what did I witness?
No spinner baits? Where I’m at I throw a spinner bait at them and I create my own bait ball of Shad and it seems to drive the bass crazy but u can feel all the Shad following and running into the spinner bait
When there are no shad in your home waters but you watch the video because they put in effort to pump this out and you gotta show your appreciation
lol RIght? I'm sure all these tips are interchangeable with the Bluegill spawn

As usual another great video from the best bass fishermen on the internet. Tactical Rocks. Thanks so much guys.
I was literally just reading up on post spawn last night. I guess I'm on the right track. Thanks again for another great video
just got the keitechs! cant wait to give them a shot out on the water. Always been a huge fan of the zoom flukes.

I love for you guys to come to Ontario Canada for a TB video. We close our bass season for the spawn.
Thanks mat always love watching your videos you teach me a lot every time I have caught a lot of fish using all of your techniques that I've learned once again thanks brother
Learn soooooooo much from yall.
Talk color codes , coolest lures on market that catch .
I like MOON JUICE, HOT TIGER, SOOOOOOOO MANY COLOR CODES .
Once again thank you for the great tips. You're always willing to help us out.
Thank you both for excellent work, great mentors for the next generation and old generation alike.
Funny, our river smallys have finally come up shallow to stage, but boy has it been fun. We're just a tad behind everyone else haha
Thanks Matt! It’s been a long time since I fished the Shad spawn.I definitely needed the brush up tips and confidence reminder! Happy trails and chunky hogs

Is there a “best baits for bluegill spawn” coming? I’d really like to see that cause the lake I fish at is heavily bluegill.
Come to lake chatuge in Hiawassee, GA. Packed with spotted bass and big largemouth! You guys would love it
My go to during this time is the jerkbait. Mainly the rerange or the ito shiner. In a bone or pearl and something with a silver flash
Thanks Matt. When does a suspending rattle trap come into play?
I think a great future video for finesse fishing would be the many ways and rigs to fish a hula grub...
Your guys vidoes are great!! thanks for the wisdom def learned a lot from you guys and excited to keep learning!!

Great video Matt! What do you think about a Whopper Plopper during the shad spawn. I just bought one and was going to throw it this saturday.
Ive never thought of that. Imo i think it would be great especially the 75 or 90 size. Im gona have to give that a try
Work amazing my friend and I have been throwing them a lot recently and have been getting a lot of bites
Don’t use the whopper plopper you will end up getting tired from pulling in two many fish .

That's only because the LV500 is much heavier and sinks really fast.
While your in Alabama, you need to come down to the Mobile delta and fish!
All these years of watching Tacticalbassin, that is the first time I have seen you wear shorts!😜😜
Ha! Once in a blue moon... that day ended in my white legs burning so bad I could hardly walk!!
Those hats you guys wear are awesome looking. What are they?
Great video, little confused on the info with the link, are you throwing braid for all the lures and adding a florucarbon leader?

Can you do a video about the top 5 baits for post spawn bass during sunfish spawn?
Most, if not all these tips can be used during the bluegill/ sunfish spawn. Give 'em a try
Marco Caetano I just had some really good fishing using a swim jig and a bluegill pattern and a screw in under spin! Keitech Trailer of coarse
Ok I’m thinking about buying a Swimbait rod what should I get a 4-8 oz or 8-14 oz thanks
