I think they are best to use in junk journals, planners, altered books etc. I have some bulky ones in my traveler’s notebook I use as a planner. These are great!
These are very cute to look at, but my problem would be that, once placed on a page, you won't be able to close the book all the way and the metal and/or other accessories would leave marks on the pages. I would probably use them to hold a few pages together rather than a staple, just for an extra-added touch! Thanks for sharing this technique. I love it! 🌹
@@barbcouturier5112I think it's practical, I just don't think you should use all of those charms if you're intending for a bookmark. Words, paper, ephemera and a ribbon up top would be the way to go.
I agree! I come from a family full of book lovers who get really irate when they see someone fold the corner of the page over in a book, they would really flip out seeing someone using a bookmark with the dangling accessories. But it is such a great item, I was thinking if you glued a small magnet on the back, it would be great to use to display a photo or child’s artwork on the fridge as you could still have the dangles. Otherwise I would have to put the accessories at the top so they hang out over the top of the book. I love the idea of using it to hold a few pages together instead of a staple or boring paper clip! These are so dang cute I cannot wait to make a few. All of my craft supplies are packed up awaiting the move to our new home…I finally have a craft room and not just stashing my supplies anywhere they can fit lol. So it will be awhile before I can get access to my supplies but it is the first thing I am going to create in my new craft room.
This is a beautiful great way to use some of my extra SWAG and end up with something so cute! Thank you for sharing and inspiring me! Have a Happy Crafting Weekend! Gina
Cool. One sounds very much like a canary! My "girly room" is just off my bedroom in an enclosed porch with an attached screened in porch. When weather permits, I have my door open too. Just starting paper crafting. Usually my craft is making reborn baby dolls. Haha
I used the Cornell Lab Merlin app recently to identify all I'm hearing and; at the time, were Blue Jays, American Robin, Song Sparrow, Carolina wren, Northern Cardinal, Mourning Dove, American Goldfinch, Eastern Wood-Pewee, Red-Eyed Vireo, Chimney Swift, Killdeer, Gray Catbirds, Cedar Waxwing, and a Red-Winged Blackbird, American Crows, Common Crackles and occasionally the resident Pileated Woodpecker comes in on percussion 🐦
I got the same book and I love it for so many things - love it and free as well ! One thing to run through die cut machine for flowers ( Tim holts little ones for a variety of different colors as opposed to just a plain card stock ! Gorgeous! Excellent video ! Thank you so much for showing the entire process x Nice to meet you !
These are pretty and fun. I like the idea mentioned in a previous comment about using them at the side of a book, or maybe at the bottom so the charms dangle! If you wanted the charms at the top of the book I guess you could just swap the position of the ribbon and charms when making a bookmark. Just a thought, no criticism intended😊.
By the way; or BTW, my journals are going to be an interactive art exhibit this coming month in Johnson City, TN! www.erwinrecord.net/living/erwin-couple-to-present-art-exhibit-on-june-7/article_074aa28e-1dce-11ef-a0df-4fe2072720c3.html
I thi k these are lovely and they would be GOOD to use as bookmark , just turn it SIDEWAYS !! Then it will STILL MARK YOUR page and dangles will hang of side !!! Just try tgem ladies !! Thanx for your lovely video and. Sharing your talent !!🎉❤😊
I work in my craft studio with windows opened since it's been cooler here in the mountains. I used a phone app called 'Merlin' to identify all the bird sounds here and the final list was: Blue Jays, American Robin, Song Sparrow, Carolina Wren, Northern Cardinal, Mourning Dove, American Goldfinch, Eastern Wood-Pewee, Red-Eyed Vireo, Chimney Swift, Killdeer, Gray Catbirds, Cedar Waxwing, Eastern Bluebirds, Canada Geese, House Finch, Common Crackle, American Crow, Golden Crowned Kinglet, Red-Winged Blackbird, Chipping Sparrow, Downy Woodpecker, Dark Eyed Junco, White-Throated Sparrow, Great Crested Flycatcher, Chimney Swift, Common Raven, Hooded Merganser, Wood Thrush, European Starling, Blue-Gray Gnatcatcher and Barn Swallow!! It is quite the cacophony
I have looked everywhere for prettu little charms for different things. I can find some that have bigger pieces than l want, animals or skulls l don't want. Mostly size and types l struggle to find. Still looking though, yours are so pretty.
I've scored quite a bit from thrift stores by just asking if they sell broken jewelry bits. Several have filled my car with boxes filled with tangled and broken jewelry! I also buy from a local lady who sells me her discards by the pound.
All of the above :) My journals will be in an Art Show 7 June thru 3 July at a gallery in Johnson City, Tennessee called Ravenworks Gallery and I plan to have these for sale there as well, and eventually in my online shop I'm working on.
Those are outdoor wild birds. I live in rural in the East Tennessee Appalachians and we get a lot of wildlife here. My craft studio is an outdoor 12 x 16 cottage style shed and I have all the windows opened this time of year for the cool mountain breezes, so you can hear the birds rather well. I used the Merlin App to identify the different bird sounds and it came back with this list: Blue Jays, American Robin, Song Sparrow, Carolina Wren, Northern Cardinal, Mourning Dove, American Goldfinch, Eastern Wood-Pewee, Red-Eyed Vireo, Chimney Swift, Killdeer, Gray Catbirds, Cedar Waxwing, Eastern Bluebirds, Canada Geese, House Finch, Common Crackle, American Crow, Golden Crowned Kinglet, Red-Winged Blackbird, Chipping Sparrow, Downy Woodpecker, Dark Eyed Junco, White-Throated Sparrow, Great Crested Flycatcher, Chimney Swift, Common Raven, Hooded Merganser, Wood Thrush, European Starling, Blue-Gray Gnatcatcher and Barn Swallow!!
Weird. Do you junk journal? Do you use things other than paper that will also leave bumps? Yeah it doesn’t matter one bit. Junk journals are meant to be big, bulky, full of interesting cool things. If these bookmarks mark a page then it’s a bookmark! They absolutely do not need to be flat. Did you know you can use Cheetos too even though they aren’t flat?
If using on a regular book, you could eliminate the bottom dangles. But it would be cute just as a decorative piece on a junk journal. ☺️ it definitely depends on its intended purpose.
I don't believe in any of this. I have been desperate to earn money from home but hell no I have had zero luck. Try to convince people that really need help, because either I'm stupid or these things don't work and I'll never succeed. Having a bad day, can you tell?

I think using bits of ephemera would be cute too
I was thinking the same thing. They are very cute, just not practical.

Are you working outside? The birds in the back ground sound nice.

Where do you find the broken jewelry at
I've scored quite a bit from thrift stores by just asking if they sell broken jewelry bits. Several have filled my car with boxes filled with tangled and broken jewelry! I also buy from a local lady who sells me her discards by the pound.
WOW, just call them and use them however you want, I think there really nice, I know I will enjoy them however I want to use them 😂
Schöne Idee 👍

Do you add them to old journals you still have or are they all for new journals and happy mail etc 🩵🧡
All of the above :) My journals will be in an Art Show 7 June thru 3 July at a gallery in Johnson City, Tennessee called Ravenworks Gallery and I plan to have these for sale there as well, and eventually in my online shop I'm working on.
Cute
I hear your bird. What kind of canary is he?

I dont understand how they can be bookmarks without leaving a big bump in your book.......
They work just fine! If you're concerned you can make them flatter.
Someone always has to complain!
Wow that’s a real brainer! Just don’t use them as bookmarks then lol
If you put the dangles at the top and slide it in sideways it makes a good tab/bookmark
l had made a small one and l have it on my key chain.
Great idea!!
Those beads and dangles are going to damage your book when you try to close it and put it back on the bookshelf.
If using on a regular book, you could eliminate the bottom dangles. But it would be cute just as a decorative piece on a junk journal. ☺️ it definitely depends on its intended purpose.
