Styraco could use its horn as a blade, maybe give styraco a parry mechanic? and I always thought of Rugops as it being a honey badger, like not packing much of a punch but incredibly resilient, like having a lowtier that messes with apexes for their food would be awesome and hilarious.
Pachyrino would just be a bigger pachy styraco would be hunting Dino’s because of it’s being pretty fast and a bleeder and Diablo is my perfect whittle brittle potato
Also consider tiers, dibble might not be overall different to trike combat wise, but it’s smaller and easier to grow. Some Dino’s are just smaller versions of bigger ones for those who don’t wanna spend the time growing an apex
My only personal concern about that planned/invisioned roster is, that there are not enough players out there on a singular server to fill it with decent population of each kind. Player Max Cap must be at least 250 if not over 500 to make it work.
There doesn't have to be every species on a server at 1 point in time. In no game do you see its entire roster in every match/server. I don't know why the isle would be treated differently. Not every server is gonna have a brachi, not every server is gonna have a spino, etc.

Especially with a Roster big enough that you have potentially enough species to make a split between era and region-specific set or assemble of Sub-Rosters you could continue with your argument to not have every species to be choose-able on every server at any time! But it misses the one aspect, that to set a healthy distribution of players around a HUGE map with such a big roster will create a challenge to "balance" out the experience and the validity/viability of any species, especially if you limit carnivores diet to certain species. The implementation of organs had helped in this regard for carnis to gain potentially full set of diet with any other playable species remains. Before that it was in combination with a lack of respawning AI very hard to get the growth buff for Carno up or even maintain him, since it is/was quite possible to not encounter any player even on a full server. In my experience a huge roster will sooner or later tend to have their "meta" or a over-presence of one "most-favorite" or more versatile species. Evrima delivers a far more valid experience since smaller playables can actually hide in the foliage, something that is not that easy in Legacy with their foliage. It made playing smaller ones only viable to be constant on the run and in some cases without any chance of fight or flight it was only for "oh look, I am cute and helpless". I remember back the time (before Evrima), where everyone was choosing Allosaurus (in mega packs) and how that made the whole experience shallow for everyone else! After that you always had those Apex Mixpackers. In anyway my argument stands up. NOT ENOUGH PLAYERS! Between those "pillars" you need to "balance" it out: Map Size, a functional Roster and a good Player Count.

Whatever is gonna happen, I really hope the devs are gonna manage to prevent those situations, where 20% of the server population is playing the one Meta Species as one mega pack, while 50% are one of the Apexes and the rest is either struggling, hiding or only play for the lolz.
Cool video as always but I have a few critiques 1. The blatant removal of vital herbivores in each tier. In the small tier there are only two true herbivores and 8 carnivores, 2 herbivores and 1 omnivore. You cut that down to 5 carnivores, 1 herbivore and 1 omnivore. Same thing for mid tiers where you remove corytho, styraco, Maia AND plateo. 2. The apex power level in comparison when you decided to remove all pseudo apex carnivores (not counting quetz) We’d get an even more insane version of apex bias. Putting preferences aside it would be more logical to remove both Giganotosaurus and Spinosaurus and keep Suchomimus and Acrocanthosaurus from a pure gameplay standard. There is a 5 ton jump between Alberto and the next largest carnivore otherwise. I’d just say keep both Suchomimus and Acrocanthosaurus since they are VERY vital to game balance. 3. The blatant disregard for balance in favour of picking and choosing animals you like or don’t. Like randomly removing Troodon despite being an established creature but keeping Velo for whatever reason. I summary, this bloated roster would be absolutely horrible for balancing and this wasn’t super based in reality. Although I still do love the way you structured your video and can’t wait for the next!!
Now that we know a little more about the future plans, I don't think roster bloat wont be an issue. Apperently server owners will be able to adjust what dinosaurs are available for players to pick. If they pick a certain bunch of dinos, they could make some interesting ecosystems with it. Same goes for officials, why not just make a few dinosaurs be exclusive to a specific server? But hey, thats just my opinion, excellent content! 👍
I really miss puertosaurus he was basically the face of the isle everyone loved them and every small dinosaur would look in awe as they see one walk in the lakes or seeing them fight of hypos I hope they come back one day even though it’s scrapped
But even then I don’t mind the choice of how many dinosaurs are in Ervima in fact I love how much species we get to play as from carcharadontosaurus to camarosaurus but the old ones are the ones I hold dear to my heart like orodromeous or the Oreo’s one of the cutest dinosaurs in the game
i don't think any dino should leave, the devs can just make whatever they want to make dinos different like making carcha a dino with infection on its bite, making brachi a super fast sauropod (even tough still slower than most animals) and these things, troodon will have venom, velo can be the fastest carnivore to make it viable, these things will make the entire roster viable
But with a 100 server cap, the chances of finding your own kind will be very hard. How would pack oriented animals exist when they can barely find their own kind?
@@guarddoggo I think and hope they will increase the size to 150. I have been playing on servers with that many and it seems to work pretty fine. Probably would be a lot better too if the devs did this. But we'll see :)

My suggestions for realistic utah: make the juveniles gliders, a bit slower, the fathers give it damage absorption and No injury when falling from high altitudes and stronger bite but less bleed. Also realistic utah should be a subclass for the utah.
yes and less stamina but much much more bite damage and faster running speed bursts. It should be a solitary/small pack ambush hunter not a pursuit bleeder like omni. I’d say almost able to solo a carno easier than omni If played well. It could also be able to latch but not climb.
I’d also say a jump should be included. While it was very large and robust studies on the similar sized and similarly built achillobator indicate it possessed the ability to leap. As such I’d expect the same of the only somewhat larger utahraptor
Love the video and agree with pretty much everything! The isle does have a problem where they feel like they need to add a Dino just because. Although in my humble opinion I would switch Homalocephale with Psittacosaurus, they filling the same niche of tiny burrowers but it just seems that homalo would be able to better fend for itself and run away. Although I do still love psittacosaurus…
I think they should keep them all there is no issue with having similar Dino's it just means if you like a particular style you have some variation and a new look
I can't believe you would get rid of Sucho and Arco... my two favorite carnivores. As far as gameplay goes, these two dinos can bridge the gap between apexs and the mid tiers dinos (allo, cera and alberto), they will both go about it in different ways but if done correctly I think they will help the ecosystem. Although Acro may not add much if anything as far as unique gameplay. Maybe I'm bais cause I like them but I believe they can add something to the game... if implemented correctly.
I think with Styraco they could make something like a impaling attack wherer it would use the horn to pierce some part of the body and depending on the dino, it would be a instant death (with the small ones) and a crippling one (with bigger dinos), and a charge attack where at *maximum speed* he will probably one shot a medium or big carnivore would make hunting one a very surprise attack reliable rather than going in and trading attacks
Idea for styraco to make it different: Holding MMB or whatever other button will allow styra to drag its horn across the ground, slowing you down in the process. Once you release MMB, you will fling debris ahead of you, blinding any animal if the debris gets in their eyes.
Sucho would be a land based dino similar to allo and carno, but stronger, so it's a semi apex fish eater. Acro is very similar to rex and sucho, it would be weaker than rex, but have higher damage and less bleed that giga.
Dude Titanoboa would work easily. Just basically similar mechanics to the Deino drowning it's victims. Have it be so that you can grab stuff that's a certain weight or below, then you just sneak up on people or hide and wait, strike to grab them and it suffocates them if they're small enough, but if they're big enough they can possibly escape. Have it all tied in with stam as well, if the target is full of stam and the snake isn't they're more likely to escape, but if the snake is full stam and the other isn't it's pretty much doomed. It would be able to swim well, could probably climb if needed, but it would be pretty slow on land other than striking speed so it would need to rely on ambushing. That would be an awesome gameplay addition that would honestly be pretty good for making people uneasy about going near bushes kinda like you gotta worry when you drink.
I think NO dinosaur should be removed, because people deserve to play as their favorite species, and i'm really frustrated i can't play with Corythosaurus in ANY dinosaur game, and as such, i want them in the game. Every dinosaur is the favorite of someone, and just because they aren't as "exotic" or "unique" as the others shouldn't be a reason to dismiss them.
They could Lump some animals into the same slot and just have the different species be a cosmetic choices so for example Cory and Para could be the same thing but in the character creation menu you have the option to switch between the two body types. Have them as purely cosmetic
I also wanna add this would function like what Nintendo did in smash. When there's characters that are exactly the same but are just cosmetic choices like Daisy and Peach. I also wanna add that if this Idea was carried through I want shant to get Magnapaulia as an alternative species choice because Magnapaulia is a really funny dinosaur

Sucho, plateo, and acro should stay imo. Plateo can be a unique deep jungle animal, ducho can be a unique grizzly bear boi compared to jaguaryonyx and spinopotamus And acrocanthlsaurus should stay because when he's been made that fat and blubbery i think there's enough room to make him different from allo and giga
Really the only two I think should be considered to be removed are charchar and Cory. A hint of me sees Cory work, but charchar is a definitely not. The rest of the Dinos in the roster I think are nice. I’d just hope the devs focus on the more important ones first and add more obscure ones like homa and rugops later. I’d even like feathered Utah just to give people an option to play a feathered raptor, even if it has some slight changes to Omni
Makes more since if ovi had Mimic since it's more bird like, it can trick dinos into running away from the nest thinking it's a bigger predator, perfect advantage for ovi in my opinion
Id also say add iguanodon for sure and maybe Sinornithosaurus would be cool which is the only actual dino to be thought as venomous plus it would be able to glide and jump way higher plus if it rain they couldn't glide and are not that fast at running because of all the feathers so if caught in the open plains it could get caught or at least put in Microraptor and you should make a conspect vid on ornimegalonyx as that would be pretty cool
Sinornithosaurus wasn't venomous. Also the point was to get rid of playables, not add more. Iggy would be cool, but it's kinda just para if the devs didn't make it cringe.

Sucho can stay as it’s plays a role of what I call the auto-apex where it can bully just about every dinosaur in game and only when encountering an apex would it loose unlike Bary who will probably fall to a carno teno or something around there
Honestly, I don't think accurate Utah would be "worse" than current Utah, as it was such a wildly different animal than current Utah. Utahraptor was very stock and slow for a raptor, only as fast as a human, and hunted through ambushing. It would encroach on _Allo's_ niche more than anything else

How would Titanoboa work in evrima? Its a constrictor, yes, but what would be able to defend itself against the giant serpant. Megalania has its venomous bite, while deinosuchus has a powerful bite. I can only see smaller creatures than utah be able to escape the serpant. Titanoboa would have to compete with Spino and other predators of the swamps. The snake is a big problem anywhere its goes.
Also, you got rid of all the mid tier herbivores, that's a bad idea, keep plateo as an all rounder, and maia as a herbivourous carnotaurus, basically. I think sucho could work but that might be my bias talking. I would keep acro over giga as well.
I’d say keep bronto, it’s different enough from diplo and arguably better. It’s much more bulky and it has the baseball bat neck (possibly spiked baseball bat)

Without watching this video. I do say the "large" (56 playable) roster isn't a bad thing. We know, from what Punch has already stated, that a lot of other playable won't be playable on your average official server due to very heavy similarities. And with that, those similar "double-up playables" will be available for any unofficial server; This is to build the heavy customisable-feel to server admins/owners. (Excluding global chat lol) This is similar with Gen 2 (mercs) where admins can turn them off if they feel as if they don't want the best playable in their server.
If you have a link to where you saw punch say this I’d love to see it. Not trying to say you’re lying, but from what I’ve seen of dev comments over the past few months in the isle update videos, the devs haven’t officially stated what playables will not be available on official servers. Outside of stuff like compy, the devs have only ever said there is the possibility of not making certain creatures playable on official servers. And that’s only if they can’t balance it, even then afaik they haven’t mentioned similar dinosaurs in this way, mostly they mention it when taking about sauropods. Again, I would really like to know if what you’re saying is true, so if you have the source lmk.

Prestosuchus should replace Rauisuchus. Psittacosaurus can easily be made in to a unique playable by giving it the most complex burrowing in the game with multiple chambers and underground nesting, it can make use of its quills as well. Fuck Magy, we could have gotten a much better sauropod like Amarga, Baja or Shuno I had a whole suggestion in the isle discord before I got banned on how I would make Plateosaurus unique, I doubt they even read it but I hope Plateo makes it in anyway
Certainly a good list. It is of course, as any of these roster cuts, debatable in the specifics, but overall it keeps each Playstyle alive. While I think Something Like this would be much more ideal, I feel Like with what the devs are doing, even a roster the size you proposed is going to Take them a decade. Seriously though, it is insane how big the roster is...while we only got like 8-is playables in the last God-Emperor only knows how many years. And out of that Hipsy and Deino does not even count cuz one is small, and the other is...well... Deino. (My reasoning is flawless :D)
I'd say stilly things about if we grouped everything in small med big and biggest I'd like around 7-10 for each group so 40 max but at the same time I just more dinos. Well I like this list overall there some I'm not sure about but like I'd say 40 and have like a talk about what stays really it's 39 because they are adding humans.

Utahraptor could have the unique niche of "actually mcfucking acts like the animal it's based upon", which would lead to it having overpowered traits such as being able to climb kinda somewhat, being able to see at night, and giving animals a mouthful of feathers if they try to bite it. Utahraptor could also proceed to sit on smaller animals, communicate across vast distances, and swim. Utahraptor could have everything every other animal its size could have if they didn't utterly suck at designing their animals, and Raptor Prey Restraint and the ability to fall down from high areas on top of all that maybe. ...But if you have halfway realistic expectations for Utah; yeah it'll just be slower bulkier Omniraptor who maybe jumps a bit more, and will probably be able to walk upside down on the surface of water like a beetle or some stupid shit like that.
to add a little more context i'd get rid of rex and in stead i would add mosa, dunk, elasmo, what the filter feading Plesiosaurer is and defo adding a gorgenopsid and adding nasuto add and for ai add pangolin as an ai
Another solution would be to have this roster divided between different maps, like 15 -20 pickable dinos. I dont mean that every roster must be totally different from eachother, ptera or deino for example could be in more than one roster. I also think the devs should take in to consideration at which time period each dino lived. Dont think is makes much sense to put allo, stego and dilo on the same map as t.rex, there is a 90 million year time gap between the species. Like having mammoth and t.Rex in the roster

Love the video and agree with pretty much everything! The isle does have a problem where they feel like they need to add a Dino just because. Although in my humble opinion I would switch Homalocephale with Psittacosaurus, they filling the same niche of tiny burrowers but it just seems that homalo would be able to better fend for itself and run away. Although I do still love psittacosaurus…

I think they should keep them all there is no issue with having similar Dino's it just means if you like a particular style you have some variation and a new look

I can't believe you would get rid of Sucho and Arco... my two favorite carnivores. As far as gameplay goes, these two dinos can bridge the gap between apexs and the mid tiers dinos (allo, cera and alberto), they will both go about it in different ways but if done correctly I think they will help the ecosystem. Although Acro may not add much if anything as far as unique gameplay. Maybe I'm bais cause I like them but I believe they can add something to the game... if implemented correctly.

I think with Styraco they could make something like a impaling attack wherer it would use the horn to pierce some part of the body and depending on the dino, it would be a instant death (with the small ones) and a crippling one (with bigger dinos), and a charge attack where at *maximum speed* he will probably one shot a medium or big carnivore would make hunting one a very surprise attack reliable rather than going in and trading attacks

Idea for styraco to make it different: Holding MMB or whatever other button will allow styra to drag its horn across the ground, slowing you down in the process. Once you release MMB, you will fling debris ahead of you, blinding any animal if the debris gets in their eyes.

Sucho would be a land based dino similar to allo and carno, but stronger, so it's a semi apex fish eater. Acro is very similar to rex and sucho, it would be weaker than rex, but have higher damage and less bleed that giga.

Dude Titanoboa would work easily. Just basically similar mechanics to the Deino drowning it's victims. Have it be so that you can grab stuff that's a certain weight or below, then you just sneak up on people or hide and wait, strike to grab them and it suffocates them if they're small enough, but if they're big enough they can possibly escape. Have it all tied in with stam as well, if the target is full of stam and the snake isn't they're more likely to escape, but if the snake is full stam and the other isn't it's pretty much doomed.
It would be able to swim well, could probably climb if needed, but it would be pretty slow on land other than striking speed so it would need to rely on ambushing. That would be an awesome gameplay addition that would honestly be pretty good for making people uneasy about going near bushes kinda like you gotta worry when you drink.
I think NO dinosaur should be removed, because people deserve to play as their favorite species, and i'm really frustrated i can't play with Corythosaurus in ANY dinosaur game, and as such, i want them in the game. Every dinosaur is the favorite of someone, and just because they aren't as "exotic" or "unique" as the others shouldn't be a reason to dismiss them.

They could Lump some animals into the same slot and just have the different species be a cosmetic choices so for example Cory and Para could be the same thing but in the character creation menu you have the option to switch between the two body types. Have them as purely cosmetic
I also wanna add this would function like what Nintendo did in smash. When there's characters that are exactly the same but are just cosmetic choices like Daisy and Peach. Really the only two I think should be considered to be removed are charchar and Cory. A hint of me sees Cory work, but charchar is a definitely not. The rest of the Dinos in the roster I think are nice. I’d just hope the devs focus on the more important ones first and add more obscure ones like homa and rugops later. I’d even like feathered Utah just to give people an option to play a feathered raptor, even if it has some slight changes to Omni
Makes more since if ovi had Mimic since it's more bird like, it can trick dinos into running away from the nest thinking it's a bigger predator, perfect advantage for ovi in my opinion

Id also say add iguanodon for sure and maybe Sinornithosaurus would be cool which is the only actual dino to be thought as venomous plus it would be able to glide and jump way higher plus if it rain they couldn't glide and are not that fast at running because of all the feathers so if caught in the open plains it could get caught or at least put in Microraptor and you should make a conspect vid on ornimegalonyx as that would be pretty cool

Honestly, I don't think accurate Utah would be "worse" than current Utah, as it was such a wildly different animal than current Utah. Utahraptor was very stock and slow for a raptor, only as fast as a human, and hunted through ambushing. It would encroach on _Allo's_ niche more than anything else

How would Titanoboa work in evrima? Its a constrictor, yes, but what would be able to defend itself against the giant serpant. Megalania has its venomous bite, while deinosuchus has a powerful bite. I can only see smaller creatures than utah be able to escape the serpant. Titanoboa would have to compete with Spino and other predators of the swamps. The snake is a big problem anywhere its goes.
Also im going be playing as minmi a lot when its added.
id say its best to make it semi aquatic and arboreal to escape threats

I’d say keep bronto, it’s different enough from diplo and arguably better. It’s much more bulky and it has the baseball bat neck (possibly spiked baseball bat)

I do say the "large" (56 playable) roster isn't a bad thing.
We know, from what Punch has already stated, that a lot of other playable won't be playable on your average official server due to very heavy similarities.
And with that, those similar "double-up playables" will be available for any unofficial server; This is to build the heavy customisable-feel to server admins/owners. (Excluding global chat lol)
This is similar with Gen 2 (mercs) where admins can turn them off if they feel as if they don't want the best playable in their server.

If you have a link to where you saw punch say this I’d love to see it. Not trying to say you’re lying, but from what I’ve seen of dev comments over the past few months in the isle update videos, the devs haven’t officially stated what playables will not be available on official servers. Outside of stuff like compy, the devs have only ever said there is the possibility of not making certain creatures playable on official servers. And that’s only if they can’t balance it, even then afaik they haven’t mentioned similar dinosaurs in this way, mostly they mention it when taking about sauropods. Again, I would really like to know if what you’re saying is true, so if you have the source lmk.

Prestosuchus should replace Rauisuchus.
Psittacosaurus can easily be made in to a unique playable by giving it the most complex burrowing in the game with multiple chambers and underground nesting, it can make use of its quills as well.
Fuck Magy, we could have gotten a much better sauropod like Amarga, Baja or Shuno
I had a whole suggestion in the isle discord before I got banned on how I would make Plateosaurus unique, I doubt they even read it but I hope Plateo makes it in anyway

Certainly a good list. It is of course, as any of these roster cuts, debatable in the specifics, but overall it keeps each Playstyle alive. While I think Something Like this would be much more ideal, I feel Like with what the devs are doing, even a roster the size you proposed is going to Take them a decade.

Utahraptor could have the unique niche of "actually mcfucking acts like the animal it's based upon", which would lead to it having overpowered traits such as being able to climb kinda somewhat, being able to see at night, and giving animals a mouthful of feathers if they try to bite it. Utahraptor could also proceed to sit on smaller animals, communicate across vast distances, and swim. Utahraptor could have everything every other animal its size could have if they didn't utterly suck at designing their animals, and Raptor Prey Restraint and the ability to fall down from high areas on top of all that maybe.
...But if you have halfway realistic expectations for Utah; yeah it'll just be slower bulkier Omniraptor who maybe jumps a bit more, and will probably be able to walk upside down on the surface of water like a beetle or some stupid shit like that.

to add a little more context i'd get rid of rex and in stead i would add mosa, dunk, elasmo, what the filter feading Plesiosaurer is and defo adding a gorgenopsid and adding nasuto add and for ai add pangolin as an ai
Another solution would be to have this roster divided between different maps, like 15 -20 pickable dinos. I dont mean that every roster must be totally different from eachother, ptera or deino for example could be in more than one roster. I also think the devs should take in to consideration at which time period each dino lived. Dont think is makes much sense to put allo, stego and dilo on the same map as t.rex, there is a 90 million year time gap between the species. Like having mammoth and t.Rex in the roster
