The Sine Player works. Better than the Kontakt Player. The options are much finer and more tuned. I really appreciate the option to purchase individual instruments from a package. This way I can gradually add to my orchestra as needed. Unfortunately, there is no way to control the Sine Player via the Komplete Kontrol keyboard (display indication).
I imagine you're right about that; and your comment brought home to me something that makes me look at my frustrations with Sine in a new light. I've never really used the free Kontakt Player, only full Kontakt, which has a lot more options for control than the free player OR Sine - though Sine certainly makes some things easier; overall Sine gives you less scope for getting inside and editing things than full Kontakt. But - and its big but - a lot of libraries (such as Spitfire ones) that work in Kontakt Player are locked even in full Kontakt. And thus you cannot do much of anything to modify or refine them. So, perhaps the proper comparison is the one you make, between locked Kontakt Player libraries and Sine; whereas I have been unfairly comparing Sine to unlocked full Kontakt libraries.
Yea!! This!!! I think Sineplayer is far superior for solo instruments / just want the “raw” sound. whereas kontakt I still prefer for “flavour” libraries like arkhis or even some of the spitfire evo series!
How about a OT tutorial on how a non classically trained musician can use OT Symphonic Strings collection to get nice swells and smooth minimalistic orchestral backgrounds for other solo instruments! sound good? I think so! 🙂 No idea how to navigate the Sine Player to achieve this yet. Layers? Merging or Crossfading to get there? So curious and ready to use this beautiful samples!
I'm new to this field of soundtrack scoring but always wanted to try so got the basic sine player using it with maschine... any advice where to start or what videos should I watch on making my first score... Thanks for this... ,PeaceLove&GodBless
Maybe I've been lucky but I've never had any issues with Sine player that everyone seems to complain about. The only negative is it's a little slower to load but that could also be down to the size of the libraries OT has.
I've been doing music for 35+ years, but I only started to look into Composer stuff recently, so I'm a huge noob in that domain. I didn't knew about Orchestral Tools, but I discovered them while reading VI-Control, so I checked them and I have to say, I really like what they're doing. Even their Sine player, I know a lot of people hate it because it's not "perfect" yet, but overall I find it quite ok and not too complicated to use, very light on ressources. So it looks ok. Having said that, I haven't try huge template with hundreds of track using Sine... Also, so far I only got Berlin Series bundle and Ark 1 & 2... but I love everything I tried from them so far. Now I understand while composers are really in love with them. I will definitely invest more in this company.
@@ChristopherSiu i bought Metropolis ark bundle and before i knew enough i knew few things. Was like " c mon i have ensemble full orchestra,EAST WEST Opus diamond staf,Red room audio Complete skethpad etc",and these two have many good features inside. When i saw more videos about Metropolis arks, after i bought them,i was "wow, this is more than i expected, very good features,Top notch sounds, helpfull material, and the capsule feature rocks".Although sine player has to prove its power, lets not forget that it is new.
The problem with OT is their libraries are extremely overpriced and the editing is extremely sloppy in parts. If you have a library like Ark3 which is all about rhythm, but the library manages to be out of rhythm with itself, then that's a huge f*cking problem. They didn't even bother to fix it with their Sine port.....Inexcusable....
Right, quality is good but way overpriced. And it doesn't even include VAT, and hardly ever give discounts on their flagship products. Sad, I was interested in purchasing their products, but I'll never be able to.
Another great video breakdown of one of the best orchestral sampling companies in existence. :)
Thank you so much!!
Very good overview! I found this video far more entertaining than I thought it would be
Haha thank you!

i need to sell a lot of things to buy this library! .. Very clear explanation as always from my fave composer
Ahh thank you so much!!
Great Video! I have the MArk1 and it sounds great! I also have some Spitfire Audio VSTs. You should make one about Spitfire Audio.
Thanks Ben! Stay tuned :)
The music sounds great! Did you compose it?
Nope! All demos and compositions by OT affiliated people.
