it is playing hardball .. letting every future entrepreneur know that at any moment they can close themselves out - thus keeping the pressure on them to bend to the will of the Dragon..
They have to say it because even if they are rejected, they could always offer something else. Saying 'I'm out' clarifies they are done.

We actually have the Pretender game and it's not like it was demonstrated (weirdly). Everyone in the group takes it in turn to do the same charade (but it's not full on charades, you're limited to fewer actions) and there's no revealing of the answer until the end of the round. One of the players however gets dealt a blank "pretender" so isn't in on what the category is and has to try and suss out what to do or risk being called out as the pretender at the end of the round. It's one of those parlour games where you have to strike a balance between not being too vague and not being too specific in order to be succesful.

The fact that the entrepreneur rejected Jennys very reasonable offer speaks volume as to the amount of perceived added value that Jenny Campbell would bring as an investor. When she said "how hard can it be to get a pallet of toys shipped to america when Tej can import vitamins", in that one sentence she revealed her basic lack of business experience. Vitamins which need to be FDA approved are a completely different product type to toys and personally though it was a bit immature and misguided to aim such comment at Tej who is clearly a serious businessman and investor.

After some time doing nothing, she went to night school, double lol. Despite that, she was offered all sorts of high profile jobs in a bank, very likely thanks to daddy. She switched role from role, then bought someone's startup that turned out to be successful....and sold it. That's it. Doesn't really scream business woman. Just a product of her upbriging, with financial/connection backup, that she didn't even take full advantage of. That's why I think she never offers. She's doesn't recognize potential, she's the type that would invest only in obviously successful stuff. Like go to her with a teleportation device and she will offer, go to her with early-day book selling Amazon type of deal, and she would back out

Kind of misses the point, yes you can do it for free but most families are tired, busy and/or quite happy to have something to direct their silly moments. People need props to get into things like this.

I think the big thing is the word prompts. The one given was 4 words that were very specific and difficult to infer from one to the next. If all of the prompts are like that, then I'd say its not like just playing charades for free, because most people will think of generic shit like "movie theatre" or something. I assume her other games would be similar. Lots of board games could be played at home for free to some extent, the point is that the limitations of the prompts actually force people to think outside the box because they might get something they have no clue how to represent.

Jenny's asking share is too much. If you think about it, she did mention that she herself is the shareholder and her husband is in the business with her so that's at most 50-50% share. If Jenny and her incompetent ass was to jump in and yet ask for 2x the amount allocated to her, Mabel could stand to lose everything. That's not how business work and for a tiny business to ask for 20% share is just a little too hard to swallow so in actual fact, Mabel was smart, REAL smart to quickly fucked right out of the deal.

If she suddenly sells 50000 because it’s sold internationally even with giving 20% to Jenny she’s still up 400% on her profits. Jenny would only make 4000 pounds and she would get 16000 pounds. That was a really stupid decision and I don’t think she nor you gets it at all
@@Burlykim13 fyi investors typically don't draw money out of the company (even if they could , via dividends) they would rather have the company retain its profits for further expansion and development. Investors just expect to sell their shares at some sort of exit event .

My take:
1 - Of course, I'm surprised as everyone else to witness a rare moment where Jenny makes an offer (and a seemingly very fair and reasonable offer too).
2 - The entrepeneur's counter offer was for 20%, reducing to 10% after the Dragon has been paid back. Jenny responds with only a small bump to 15% after being paid back, and also some extra time constraints on when she gets paid back. Why would the entrepreneur turn that down? I don't get it. The cynical part of me thinks that she just came to the show for free advertising, as so many others do. Sad.
3 - The super cynical side of me thinks that this was a staged pitch, set up by Jenny, the producers and the entrepeneur, to make it seem as if Jenny was willing to invest.
