- hi guys, here's my top speed first ride review of the Triumph Speed 400, this is the retail unit that'll will be delivered to customers, so was eager to check whether any last minute changes or fine tuning was done.

I'm confused about the vibration & heating issues! In this video if you zoom at moments when DinoBhai is riding at high speed the bar end mirrors looks to be stable, from which we can assume (can we?) that the vibrations are not there or minimum! Also the rider should always wear gloves & boots and ridingPants while riding it hard/long, so in that context will the vibrations & heat be worrisome?
No vibrations. Heating is slightly apparent in heavy bumper to bumper traffic

Yesterday I had a visited both the Triumph & HD showrooms back to back. Speed 400 looks droolworthy and the X440 looks pretty neat too. But What I have noticed are the almost uneven welds on the bolt-on subframe just below the seat & on the exhaust pipe, then the poor quality side panels(infact 3 on each sides of whcih 1 is definitely out of place) of the speed 400 doesn't do justice to the Triumph badge. Then the coolant is placed right below the engine, which is protected on by a plastic sump guard by default. Ofcourse a metal plate is available as an accessory for sure. Btw, welds on the HD X440 looked better in my opinion.

Yesterday I visited one of Triumph showroom to take test ride of Speed 400, it was rush as it was weekend, I filled form submitted my driving license and waited around 1 hour for my turn. I thought let us utilise my time to watch other models of Triumph, but when I observed a behaviour which I heard multiple times for special treatment to cheap versions of big brands like Triumph, Harley ... And I strongly felt it was not a welcome but just a liability for staff. I could not manage to take test drive as it was taking much time and I hand another responsibility to attend so I took my back my license and came out from showroom without test ride, but one thing was very clear that you will not get treated as premium even if you are with premium brand but non premium models, it was in discussion from long time but I strongly felt it , by the bike feedback from other riders were amazing.
Just visit another showroom. Usually this kind of thing is common in India. I have faced this in RE, Hyundai and Tata showrooms as well.
can we do all day long ride on this bike? what will be the mileage and speed anyone can maintain on all day long ride?
Refined that Honda CB 350 RS ? I heard from other youtubers that there are vibrations mostly over 5000 rpm

How is the refinement in comparison to Honda CB 350 ? If vibe free cruising with pillion is main criteria what should be chosen between cb 350 and speed 400 ??

Many reviewers say this bike has lot of speedo error. So GPS based speed test would be accurate

Did you feel the bike vibrating a lot like lot of youtubers are claiming at very high speeds?
Zero vibrations even at 165 kmph. Wear Gloves and shoes. You won't feel any vibrations at all.
@@DinosVaultthen why are other youtubers claiming that a lot of vibrations creep in after 120-130 kmph ..... It's a bit surprising because triumphs are known for refinement

However when Anna was riding I was trying to view the mirrors to trace any vibes...giving the benefit of doubt to TRIUMPH I am sure given that it's a single cylinder setup it is bound to viberate after a certain speed. It's just that how and when it happens and how much it happens is important to know. Even riding an interceptor 650 leaves you with a tingling sensation in barely 20 mins 😄 which is a twin cylinder setup

If honda makes a high revving engine like this with 12:1 compression ratio even that would vibrate.
i booked one,i am in that 1st 10k booking , still the showroom is says 5-8 months of waiting time.

and after booking the bike from the only triumph showroom in my state, after a few weeks 1 showroom opened near me....is there any possibility to transfer the booking?

I am also in first 10000 booking slot.I will get bike in September.

They are saying there is only 50 bikes coming per month...and my booking is 472

Might be an issue. I booked here in Kolkata and showroom guys said allotment once done they’ll call. I was also among 1st 10k. But delivery should not be more than 6 weeks.

Hope that bike isn’t sold on as new; beating it right out the box like that certainly isn’t good for it. Broken in properly it will no doubt be quicker too.😢😢. Great bike though, I have a red one on order. It will be treated properly but ridden hard too.

Many test riders have experienced vibrations at higher rpms at 80-100 kmph... How was your experience like ?
Kindly test ride yourself, didn't find any vibrations during the test ride
It's not about speed if you want power you will get it at high revs with vibrations. It's short stroke engine and It's common. I felt it.
@@sakalasiva you will feel it but it's way less than the 390, i won a 390 and felt triumph was smoother and bit less mad , after 6500rpm every single has some vibs
@@kankit230 I always rode Honda currently having highness. Compare to it I felt it like way higher. For short burst rides it is OK. If you want to go on a long trip having constant vibrations will tires you out soon.
@@sakalasiva highness also has very mild vibrations post 100 but I don't think highness is a right comparison against triumph, highness is quite slow and takes its own time reaching speeds and also tops at 130, highness is more comfortable at 90 all day while triumph can be ridden easily at 120 all day. I have ridden my 200 ns from Bangalore to ladhak and 390 around Bangalore and neighbouring states that much vibe is a non issue for longer trips.

If only refinement CB300 will be the one, but it has 120cc less and 30k more expensive. If u r single rider looking for city bike CB300 will be better as it's proven and lighter. If u need pillion go with speed400

Speedo error is approx 10 KMPH as per my calculations.

Does it matter?. If it rides well..
To be most of of things looks shared with diff brand tagging and some gimmicks like flipping crackcase....footrest and other things like tyre size fork size snd suspension....but it seems they work on all issues said for dominar like vibration and rusting silencer...but didnt do it for dominar...Also they initally said they will be selling 10k dominar each month while they are selling 600 only...they knew marketing went wrong...they are hiding behind triumph by fixing dominar issues
