Enjoy your videos. I'm in SoCal and raced Porches for a while with POC, but always curious about the Caterhams. Looks like a nice field up there, but I don't see many down this way. Are all the caterhams racing similar spec? NA 2.0 liter, I presume?

      Sorry, I see it's a 2.3...

There's a pretty decent bunch of Sevens in California. Of course divide even "a bunch" by the huge area of SoCal and yeah it's not a big density :-) A few years ago we toured through SoCal on the way to COTA and did Chuckwalla which was super fun: ua-cam.com/video/UUTytMGJEdI/v-deo.html In April we're doing NorCal - Sonoma, Laguna and Thunderhill - which should be fun. I will of course have videos :-)
Yes, all the cars you see are identical spec except for Greg's black car which is a 2.0 liter SVT Zetec (same as my road car!). It has a lower capacity, but it has variable valve timing and intake runners and it revs higher.
You're right that most Sevens are 1.6 liter or 2.0 liter, and mostly Fords. These engines are NA 2.3 liter Duratecs, though for durability they have a lowered 6500 redline, so in practice they only make 200hp. This means that well-tuned 2.0 engines (as in the current "420R Caterham" spec) are very comparable. It's actually the same engine block - the 2.3 is just stroked a little from the 2.0, but as a result has a lower redline. Amusingly, this engine was actually designed by Mazda, so I believe a common place for parts is an NC Miata!
