I like caveman coffee. Just dump it dry in your mouth and eat it. 😆

Have you tried chocolate coffee beans?
Soft sweet choco and crunchy bitter beans are a surprisingly good combo. Great pre-workout or hiking snack.

Yes sir. Tapping loosens the grounds from the side of the cup so they float down eventually. Cold water sinks in warm water, pulling the ground down to the bottom faster

So, tap first, then add the cold water ! Nice.

I made coffee every morning that exact same way except the tapping. Give it five minutes and the grounds will settle. Funny part is I’m using the same Stanley cook pot also.

Brew ot stronger than usual and add a little bit of cold water. This will carry the grounds to the bottom right after brewing

The last time I was in jail we got to have an electric percolator (without metal parts). This is what we did, but used a little cold water sprinkled on top of the hot coffee to take the grounds to the bottom. Really good during a game of Spades.😅

I can tell you this is one the best ways to make coffee. In all other methods, water is forced through coffee, and its so quick that powder doesnt get enough time to open up.
This method allows powder to get wet, open up and loose all the flavour to warm water.

I like the cowboy too but the NYC seventies before my mom got the coffee maker and perculator.there was Sanka instant and coffee international with a little hot chocolate. Especially on snowy , blizzard and cold days. That the reason of the importance of having a gas stove before the new Mayor wants to freeze people out.

You made coffee like this in your military service . It is the simplest way to make it: just a kettle, coffee powder, water and heat. No parts a la percolator needed. Didn't know this should be specifically a cowboy way of doing it, or invented by cowboys. It is simply the time before electric coffee machines, french presses, percolators, Melitta filters, or the simples way to make coffee outdoors on open fire.
