My friend and i literally already made the entire story up in our heads. This time the main character is Darts daughter and shes a non-elemental(since we didnt have that in this game) we also play Alberts and Emilles son (our first idea of a couple) the journey is to find Dart because he suddenly went missing. We decided we find Meru and Kongol eventuall and play them but dunno about Haschel. Mightve died of old age. Although kongol mightve already mastered Rogue Martial Art by this time. We also made up the personalities of the new characters but i wont bother you with those rn 😂

I mean sure, if you ignore the dodgy translation, the somewhat predictable story, the flat, non-descript villains, the cardboard protagonist, the clunky equipment system, the under developed and somewhat simplistic battle system, the absolutely atrocious voice acting, and the cutscenes that ran at like 5 fps. But yeah, if you ignore all of that, might be in my top 20 for sure.
This was so innovative and made turn based combat with regular enemies so fun. When you hit a big combo the first time, it felt like you won a game show.
Yeah, Albert's are a bit more difficult to follow with the button presses. He moves a lot faster than Lavitz does, especially on the Gust of Wind Dance and Rose/Blossom Storm attacks

Meru's Additions got a little confusing towards the later stages cause her moves seemed like they'd come close to hitting but will actually be a frame late

Sony London (SCEE before), Sony Japan (now JAPAN Studio) and Sony Santa Monica are studios created from the ground up to take advantage of PlayStation hardware with internal teams. However, Sony London hasn't made something substantial since The Getaway and Sony Japan has made small games that are not even worth to mention. ICO, SOTC and TLG can't touch the production of The Legend of Dragoon which was ahead of its time when it released on PS1. Sony Santa Monica wants to expand and make a new IP after the success of GOW reboot. Sony has not even expressed any interest to remaster The Legend of Dragoon but Bluepoint wants to do a remake of it. They are rumored to remake Demon's Souls on PS5 according to Kotaku's Jason Schreier but technical director Peter Dalton suggested The Legend of Dragoon on twitter to be a next project. How this game can be remade without the creators doesn't matter anymore. Like all RPGs on PS1 they have archaic gameplay issues and some of them like FFVII and TLOD definitely needs to reinvent the wheel on modern hardware with more power. Story? No problem. Soul Sacrifice director/writer moved to Japan Studio as director in 2016. Their position is called director for game director in Japan and he now works in Kouno's team on an unannounced project that has been in the making since Kouno-san stopped making LocoRoco games in 2010. But after that project they are probably going to make a sequel but in between that and the release of the new IP there is room to be involved with The Legend of Dragoon remake. Bluepoint needs to be ready to remake The Legend of Dragoon in several parts like FFVIIR in long-term.

Still my top 3 favorite game. I always loved hearing dart say "madness hero". I lost it when Lavitz died. It was a bigger impact than when aries died in ff7. This game was so ahead of its time. The graphics, story, characters, and the less talked bout but oh so amazing music
Shana/Miranda gets 1 dragoon transform per attack by dragoon level 3, white dragon is OP and it makes it so that you get other characters additions faster because she doesnt have any. Shana just needs MP regen seriously.
well just training for Shana lv dragoon up to lv 5 then give her Amulet ( ring ) and Magical Hat ( Helm ) then use Special Transform....and ... just spam WHITE SILVER DRAGON magic =)) Fun fact: before use Special Transform...give Shana/Miranda Power up and give the Boss Power Down =)) you know it mean right =)) you could easy get her lv 5 dragoon in disk 1...after cure him from dragon poison and you play just only Dart and Shana in Arena of Lohan city...you could bring her with Dart go out that town and train Shana lv dragoon very easy in that forest....amount for Shana up to lv 5 dragoon maybe about 30 000 SP so just spend sometime and you got a one of Ultimate Weapon in the game very Soon ( with Lavitz Flower Storm too if you bring Lavitz train along with them ) Another thing....you could give these item ( Amulet and Magical Hat ) for Meru and you know....Menu Blue-Sea Dragon magic is more powerful than Shana ( Shana only 75% but attack all enemy and cure full hp for team but Meru is 100% damage attack for 1 Enemy like a lot of Boss in game ) so just like Shana , Meru could help you beat the game very easy with 3 times use they Ultimate Magic with a highest damage + buff damage from very very useful item in the game...and 9999 damage is so very easy to see right =))

Legend of Dragoon.... There is something odd about this game. I played it first liek 20 years ago. I loved everything about it. The graphics, the soundtracks, the characters, the story, and the fact, that i always knew the places to find stardust just by looking at them. Since that time, i started this game like 6-7 times. And everytime, i stop playing at the safe point in front of the final dungeon. I really have no idea why. Maybe i just don't want it to end? At least i know, i will play it again some day, and maybe finish it this time.
I'm never fail to be proud that I mastered all additions in my game. Nice to see them again. In all honesty though, Lavitz's attacks are different from Albert's. The names are the same, but the timing and the way her performs them are different.

Did you not play the game??? Each character may not have the depht compared to rose but she also lived the longest between two eras of dragon campaign and the war

I played this game 11 yrs straight every summer. I love it. Discovered all there was to know. Once lvld up additions haschel is the strongest character. Albert is second. If you dont transform into dragon by the time you get to end. Human form is alot stronger than dragon form. Plus transforming takes alot of time over the course of the game.
You are totally right. Took me a couple times playing it to realize that. Or some bosses I maxed out the dragoon gage and used the special and was wondering why I had such a hard time. But my favorite line up to use was dart( of course) rose because she's super strong with buster sword and decent speed dancers shoes and meru (should be obvious) but she super fast even b4 adding dancer shoes then add therapy ring and balances her crappy defense, and she hits hard later levels. Albert was too slow for me but has the best dragoon magic and that's flower storm
So funny how 20 years ago I thought I was such a bad ass being able to do burning slash with dart 🤣 that was the extent to my combos. Still beat the game though!
I had a lot of fun with this game, but after hearing my teammates yell out the name of each attack so many times, I decided to give them funny names. For example: Burning Rush-Burning Rash, Whip Smack-Bitch Slap, More and More-Boring Whore, and Gust of Wind Dance-Disgusting Wind Dance. It was only Kongol that I managed to keep a consistent theme with. Pursuit became For Soup, Inferno became Burrito, and Bone Crush became Corn Mush. I guess having so few kind of helped.
Here’s my head canon design for how the characters should look for the PS5/PS6/PS7 remake Dart: looks basically the same as his original counterpart. Rose: looks basically the same as she did in the original. But she can dual wield two rapiers instead of one Lavitz: his armor should be green with a forest theme. Albert: his armor should be more king like with a nature theme as well. Shana: should be a have more of an archer themed look to her with some leather armor. Miranda: should be a cross between an archer and a priest Haschel: should be wear a purple monk rob Kongol: design should be the same. But he should have horns on his head and he should wear a furred cape Meru: should dress more like a cross between a dancer and a mage. She should also have pointy ears and carrying a staff instead of a hammer. Lloyd: design is still the same, but he has pointy ears and he’s also a guest playable character during the Vellweb level. Speaking of guest characters Hellena prison: Dart’s trainer Shrine or Shirley: a Miniatos explorer using daggers Capital of Sandora: that knight guy from the opening cinematic Home of the Gigantos: the big knight guy from Tiberoa with a lance Twins Castle: Princess Emille and her sister as they use magic Vellweb: Lloyd Agilis: Savan using his magic attacks
The one thing I wished for this and I know the horrendous grind for it as well. Lavitz/Albert so many people have never heard him do the final addition as we know very well why. One play through I did it just to hear him say it. Come on Sony so many people just want it remade or something. Ff7 remake like or something. Just don't ever lose the additions. It's what made the combat unique.
Honestly, some of the fighting moves are like a fancy dance. (RWBY vibes....) I remember JUST how hard it was to master certain additions... Easy to learn, challenging to master. But VERY satisfying when you got it right. I was truly pleased and proud when I got Rod Typhoon and Crush Dance down for the first time.

Honestly, doing Alberts is easier for me. Doing Lavitz’s was harder cause enemies counter attacked more often

Yeah. Albert's timing is quite a bit faster than Lavitz's, especially with Gust of Wind Dance and the Rose/Blossom Storm.

I played this game 11 yrs straight every summer. I love it. Discovered all there was to know. Once lvld up additions haschel is the strongest character. Albert is second. If you dont transform into dragon by the time you get to end. Human form is alot stronger than dragon form. Plus transforming takes alot of time over the course of the game.
You are totally right. Took me a couple times playing it to realize that. Or some bosses I maxed out the dragoon gage and used the special and was wondering why I had such a hard time. But my favorite line up to use was dart( of course) rose because she's super strong with buster sword and decent speed dancers shoes and meru (should be obvious) but she super fast even b4 adding dancer shoes then add therapy ring and balances her crappy defense, and she hits hard later levels. Albert was too slow for me but has the best dragoon magic and that's flower storm

So funny how 20 years ago I thought I was such a bad ass being able to do burning slash with dart 🤣 that was the extent to my combos. Still beat the game though!

I had a lot of fun with this game, but after hearing my teammates yell out the name of each attack so many times, I decided to give them funny names. For example: Burning Rush-Burning Rash, Whip Smack-Bitch Slap, More and More-Boring Whore, and Gust of Wind Dance-Disgusting Wind Dance. It was only Kongol that I managed to keep a consistent theme with. Pursuit became For Soup, Inferno became Burrito, and Bone Crush became Corn Mush. I guess having so few kind of helped.
That double punch tho...
I wish they remake this game just like FF7 on PS4 can't wait to play :D

All I did in the game was focusing my eye on the squares, so this is the only way to see the actual attack lol.
Here’s my head canon design for how the characters should look for the PS5/PS6/PS7 remake
Dart: looks basically the same as his original counterpart.
Rose: looks basically the same as she did in the original. But she can dual wield two rapiers instead of one
Lavitz: his armor should be green with a forest theme.
Albert: his armor should be more king like with a nature theme as well.
Shana: should be a have more of an archer themed look to her with some leather armor.
Miranda: should be a cross between an archer and a priest
Haschel: should be wear a purple monk rob
Kongol: design should be the same. But he should have horns on his head and he should wear a furred cape
Meru: should dress more like a cross between a dancer and a mage. She should also have pointy ears and carrying a staff instead of a hammer.
Lloyd: design is still the same, but he has pointy ears and he’s also a guest playable character during the Vellweb level.
Speaking of guest characters
Hellena prison: Dart’s trainer
Shrine or Shirley: a Miniatos explorer using daggers
Capital of Sandora: that knight guy from the opening cinematic
Home of the Gigantos: the big knight guy from Tiberoa with a lance
Twins Castle: Princess Emille and her sister as they use magic
Vellweb: Lloyd
Agilis: Savan using his magic attacks
The one thing I wished for this and I know the horrendous grind for it as well. Lavitz/Albert so many people have never heard him do the final addition as we know very well why. One play through I did it just to hear him say it. Come on Sony so many people just want it remade or something. Ff7 remake like or something. Just don't ever lose the additions. It's what made the combat unique.

Honestly, some of the fighting moves are like a fancy dance. (RWBY vibes....)
I remember JUST how hard it was to master certain additions... Easy to learn, challenging to master. But VERY satisfying when you got it right. I was truly pleased and proud when I got Rod Typhoon and Crush Dance down for the first time.
its like playing a fighting game with combo moves and the motivation is to get better at kicking ass.
