That was a great video. 2 good ammos at 200 yds on the same day. I know for sure I don't shoot as good with cold fingers and body as I do on a perfect summer day. Heck, even too hot has effects that aren't good. Plus the gun isn't as happy. I thought they both did pretty good and saw some really good stuff out of both ammos. Thanks a lot for this one. Look forward to seeing your variety of videos.
Ya I have 7 of them now I got 2 for free but they are great and for the price I haven’t seen anything that compares. I tried Arken and it’s just not as clear of glass
Me and my son were shooting at an indoor range yesterday. Our 9mm pistols. Both are very accurate. We decided to shoot longer than we originally planned. We ran out of ammo so I went to my car and got some more ammo that was from the same lot number. It was extremely cold out, only 10 degrees out. The ammo had been there for several hours. When we loaded our magazines with it and shot both of us were impacting 2 inches higher and to the right. Too our amazement the groups were half the size of the ones shot with the room temperature ammo. I was baffled.
@ Yeah I was taken by surprise. I was thinking poorer performance would be the outcome. The rounds were so cold that loading the magazines wasn’t an enjoyable experience. I suppose that long exposure like that wouldn’t be good at all due to condensation.
There’s something else I would like to mention. We were also shooting my son’s Ruger Precision Rimfire. I had just given it a thorough cleaning. I always spray WD40 specialist in my barrels to make them easier to clean. The first 5 shot groups are always touching. After that they spread back out. That’s with Federal Automatch ammo. Maybe coating the rounds lightly with it would be a way to improve the accuracy. It’s a silicone spray that dries to a smooth protective coating. I’m going to try it just to see if it helps.
Again, another well done video! I am so enjoying these B14 - R videos. I am stoked that you are liking this carbon fibre version and even more stoked you are not having any feeding/extraction problems. I can't wait to get mine to the range. What year was this barrel manufactured? I am totally interested in seeing what happens when you switch the bolts out. Thanks, my fellow cold shoot'n Canuck!
I think I have come to the conclusion that the majority of the information is had in 10 shots. I found that after ten shots the group stays around the same size
I find it helps for shooting from barricades and basically anything other than prone and off hand. I plan on shooting competitively in the future so I’m just trying things to see what I like best
It’s right there with the b14r’s and t1x but it seems the B14R is a little less picky with ammo. It doesn’t shoot one hole groups but it shoots most ammo very well and consistently. Basically what you saw in this video I can replicate with almost anything other than bottom end stuff
I tried to hit your like button but it wouldn't go to give me give me a like I accidentally hit the non-black thumbs down and it it took but the thumbs up wouldn't
It’s often better to look at mean radius than group size to compare these large sample sizes. Those were great groups regardless
Wind flag add is a real plus, thanks!
Thank you for shooting 20 shots groups. Makes the shooting cone visible!

Finally got my thumbs up to work it must have been cold too them we're super groups at 200😅👍
Nice work getting us a discount code! They really are underrated optics. And for the price it’s a massive value

Loved the inset video of the wind flag! Thanks for that and for braving the cold!
Anytime cheers 🍻

That’s very interesting. 🤔 I think I’ll have to try this in my rimfires see if there is something that makes a difference. Thanks and cheers 🍻

I’ve been meaning to experiment with lubes to see what I can get cci sv to do
@ They claim Preparation H has the same ingredients that most match ammunition uses. Been meaning to try it.
That cold here in Indiana too. We have a 22 match Sunday. My first. Can't wait.

This weather brings a whole new meaning to “cold bore” (literally)!
I really enjoyed seeing the 20 shot groups. Thanks
They show what to expect better than 5 shot groups for sure. I find that after around 10 shots the groups stay pretty consistent in size.
Do you load ut bi pod. Doesn't look like it in the video
How does the other ammo group at 200 out of that rifle generally speeking.
Interesting test. Both ammos were reaching or maybe exceeding supersonic speeds. Did this impact anything other than your hearing?
The last 10 with the super long range were stacking them.

Have you tried RWS 100 ? Just curious as to the difference the higher velocity would make.
Did you test the Bergara with SK standard +
found it, thanks
What province are you from? Do you plan on installing an iBi barrel on the B14R?
I’m in Ontario and I have thought about it. Just haven’t gotten around to doing anything yet
@1:36 what’s that BMW brochure on your desk?
Brrrrrrrr, to cold to shoot👍
It has to be done
How much weight on front of your arca rail? Does it seem to help?

@BROTUNED nice thanks. Was curious lol.
Are you happy with the CZ LRP? how does it stack up against your other .22LR?

Not even done watching. Do you believe temperature effects ammo performance?
I believe heat does, but I know nothing about cold.🤔
I’m going to try something here soon about that.
