Digital Manufacturing Laser Cutting and Welding

This video shows a laser beam used to cut and weld sheets of plastic as single manufacturing process. The energy of laser was optimised to be able to cut and weld polyester sheets using the same laser source. This sheet lamination additive manufacturing approach has enabled the fabrication of face shields rapidly from an inexpensive material.
