Baking soda, hydrogen peroxide, and Dawn dish soap works really well to brighten white fur as well. It's also the only thing I've found to get skunk spray off dogs.
It's the head wrap...acts kind of the same as if you were to take his head/face/ears in your hands and hold him still except that it's more calming than we would be.
Also desensitize them to grooming when they’re young! Puppies are much more curious and adaptable so they learn to be comfortable with new things easier. Then just do good obedience training and you can have a relaxed dog for grooming.
