Love the inclusion of the expectations before hand. 👍 Super important for the viewer to get some context on the reactions. Always been a fan of Tango myself, but I've yet to try Material.
Agree. The truth is that in a lot of these comparisons I do, the fragrances taken individually smell pretty similar or have a similar vibe; I don’t think you would feel any different wearing one or the other. The expectation plays a huge part 👍
@@SeldomlyOften Looking forward to it. Would love to hear what you have to say about Wulong Cha especially. I have my opinion on it. Saving a comment for the future video!!
Both are good and very, very different. Russian Tea is my favorite of the two, but both are exceptional. Russian Tea's unique use of mint and raspberry against a backdrop of tea and suede is so interesting. Tango comes across like a modernized version of the Calvin Kline classic, Obssession.
I bought Material as a blind buy because it was really difficult to find a sample. Amouage doesn't have Material in their lineup of samples. So because I love incense and vanilla notes I did a blind buy. And I'm struggling with this one! I smell predominantly smoke. Not even incense smoke, just smoke. And the vanilla hardly comes through. So it's reading really masculine fireplace to me. Given that Grand Soir is my absolute favourite, I was sure that this amber vanilla would be a slam dunk success. I'm so sad!
@@CarryOn-Janet strange, I thought it was really smooth and likeable. Even my friend loved the sample so much I had to get her a bottle! Give some time before calling it a failure, it might click before you expect it.
Great work, Daniel. Really. Zarokian did many things better than those two in my opinion. She did a good work for MDCI and my favourite still is EPIC Woman by Amouage (in the non-magnetic cap version..yes they are slightly different). Looking forward for the attar review...btw Cecile created a couple of them...the rose one should work very well for layering with epic. have a great weekend!
If you like to explore more Amber fragrances that are actually very good, there is The Merchant of Venice Ottoman Amber. It is expensive at retail but you can really find it at discounted rates very often. Soft Projecting but very long lasting.
@@All_True_Especially_The_Lies thanks for the recommendation, a local discounter has those super cheap. I’m kind of bored of pure ambers as they all kind of smell similar and I have some reference ones already.
I recently got material in exchange for rose incense and compared material to my grand soir, and i can tell you they are extremly similar. Either of them is not greatvprojecting fragrance but they last a long time, i do find grand soir to be a bit more masculine leaning, while material is perfectly unisex. If you paying a full retail, you should not go for material by any means. Tango on the other hand is much more interesting to my nose, its spicy, boozy, musky amber. I do find it like some mixture of musc ravageur and tony iommi by xerjoff. I prefer it way over material and grand soir. Performance on my skin is solid. Longevity is great, projection is average. Ambre sultan smells way better than both of these combined, however, does not deliver on performance, i get no projection out of it from the get go, and maybe 4-5 h of longevity sadly
@@Principemostprincipe thanks for the report, looking back at this video I was definitely influenced by having both Grand Soir and Ambre Sultan, which, as you said, made these two kind of look like an odd middle ground.
You are the best reviewer I know. Very intelligent, methodic and informative.
Thanks so much for the encouragement :)

Very interesting. I like your approach. It’s unique and valuable. Thank you friend 🙏🏻
My pleasure! Glad it’s informative 😊
I had my eye on Masque Milano Russian Tea and Tango. Thanks for review!!
I’ll be testing Russian Tea against Wulong Cha soon 🙂

Oh my! The algorithm knew what it was doing today! 😍Handsome. I have Material and the dry down is extremely similar to Grand Soir. Love both though.
@@BryRod Thanks for the comment! I find Grand Soir even more simple and polite, I actually like it a lot 🙂
Would love a grand soir review !
It’s pretty similar to Material but even smoother. I’ll see if I can get a bottle for cheap-ish 👍
Royal Tobacco is my #1. wearing it now. Not too many sprays needed. its strong
@@LOUDERthanU I love it so much, I’ll wear it today also. It’s one of frags that every time I spray it my pupils widen.

Yeah I really like Silver Oud and Royal Tobacco. I think she has like 3 attars to her name. I’m very curious 🙃
