I've actually had this as my main vacuum since 2007 and it still works while having no broken parts. It definitely has issues with pickup from walls and loses suction out of the corners which I had to learn to use to my benefit and use the edges to pick up things along a wall. I've also felt it's never been the best on carpet and because of your video, I learned that it isn't creating a great seal. I'm about to get another vacuum but was researching how good/bad the one I already have is to get a gauge of how good I need the next one to be. Really appreciated this video because back when I first got it, there were no videos. It was a Dyson on sale so we got it.
That’s brilliant!! I’m starting to like the DC18 more now! I think the changeover valve breaks when there’s a blockage inside the U bend and when reclined, it gets stuck and snaps the plastic, but I can see them lasting a long time for sure, they’re nice machines to use!
7:49 i think this is a good feature. Lets say your someone who is upgrading from an older machine like a DC07 and aren’t used to using a foot pedal, if it doesn’t budge when you push on the cleaner head, a part can break. Frankly I think they should have had something like that on the DC15
Oh, that looks really nice next to the BP03. Those are really reliable. Surprised it's only an 80w brush bar motor. Dyson needs a slim vacuum like that in the US. We only have the UP30 which people complain about the weight. Having a slim Dyson and that's not made out of cheap plastic that breaks like the UP19 would probably be a hit.
Thanks! I agree, there needs to be a lightweight upright too, they have a lot of potential for being vacuums that are powerful and easy to carry around The DC03 was a great design as well, just a shame it lacked a powerful motor

Good video😊
Thanks 😁
I fixed one of these for a friend. It was owned since 2006, still worked and was in pretty good shape for 17 years of use. Very impressive!

That part still worked. They must have taken good care of it.
Great review. Can’t wait to see what it cleans up ❤❤❤.
