    Yeesss!!!!! One of the best male vocalists in history who doesn't have a weak aspect in his vocal technique (some male opera/theatre singers may have the edge when it comes to lower register and mid-belts) and the most agile male vocalist so far...

    Please note... when he sings anything above a f4 he's almost always in a mix. The reason his mix is so strong is because his head voice is so developed and strong. He is not in 'full voice' aka chest voice pretty much ever above a D4 really... Which is why he has so much agility through his 1st bridge and also why he is so blended.

    What tier would Avery Wilson be?

  • @GarageStudio7
    @GarageStudio7 Рік тому +16

    1. Avery can do a lot with his voice but one thing that makes him stand out, is his instrument. It's reminiscent of the kind of instrument Whitney (maybe not exactly as beautiful) but close. Just listen to that tone.
    2. Hmm, I think Dimash has a more impressive head voice than him and probably the most amongst the males of the young generation.
    I also thought Luke James had a stronger head voice than Avery even though I like the tone of Avery's head voice more.
    3. As for agility, he is incredibly agile but to be honest, musicality is not his forte (at least so far). There are many performances in which he is riffing and running just for the sake of doing so and it rather detracts from the song. Reminds me of a young Beyonce (singing Silent Night, Bugaboo, Emotions with Celine etc.) before she evolved.
    4. For Voices of the New Generation (Generation Z), it's between Faouzia and Jailen so far (still so early to call, they are quite young so time will tell). Remember that whether we like it or not, it must also be coupled with success, enough to influence the music and general public at large when it comes to vocals.
    Avery isn't part of that generation (gen z), he is a millenial.
    For males of the generation before, he could take it but I'm sure there are other contenders ~ cue the Dimash comments ~ but again, have their voices shaped popular music/the industry, the general public?

    • @allykelly
      @allykelly  Рік тому +5

      I do think dimash came from contemporary not actual mainstream but yes
      Just checked on Luke James and i think they're both amazing but I'd give Luke a slight edge just like Celine and Whitney
      Imo jailen is the best female pop singer in genZ her chest development, belting, head voice, runs everything are top notch faouzia is close 2nd

    • @GarageStudio7
      @GarageStudio7 Рік тому +2

      @@allykelly I agree, Luke James has the edge and Dimash is quite well known but still not really mainstream.
      Ooh, I'm still torn between Jailen and Faouzia. I think they're really neck and neck - a tie.
      M1 is a tie. M2 is also essentially a tie with Jailen having a slight edge (Jailen is stronger higher in head voice while Faouzia has more quality lower in head voice) M3 goes to Faouzia. She has shown some good control and development but we have yet to see her actually use it on stage. That's a whole other challenge. Both have phenomenal vocal agility with Faouzia having more musicality.

    • @allykelly
      @allykelly  Рік тому +2

      @@GarageStudio7 well deciding voice mechanisms on them aren't really accurate imo cuz
      Pure technique
      Lows : faouzia
      Mid belt : jailen
      Upperbelt : jailen
      Head voice : jailen
      Jailen
      Eb3/E3-F#5/G5-B5/C6
      Faouzia
      D3/Eb3-D5/Eb5-A5
      Jailen has shown great consistency up to F#5/G5 her mixed voice is even more stable than Faouzia
      Agility seems to be a tie, jailen's musicality is also good i barely hear her oversinging
      About whistle faouzia takes it but it's the least important cuz it's not used a lot

    • @GarageStudio7
      @GarageStudio7 Рік тому +5

      @@allykelly Using mechanisms is accurate, it may just not be specific enough.
      Lows: Faouzia
      Belts: Jailen
      Mix: Faouzia
      Head Voice: Jailen
      Whistle: Faouzia
      If Faouzia's consistency with lows is D3, then Jailen's consistency definitely isn't Eb3.
      Faouzia *at least* has Eb5s in belts. The countless Eb5s from her performances gives her that edge.
      Same with head voice, Jailen's is B5.
      Jailen mixed voice more stable than Faouzia? She mostly belts. Faouzia utilizes mix more as she ascends and different coordinations.
      As for musicality. There are quite a number of performances where Jailen is oversinging. Even in that lovely video you made showcasing the new generation of girls' talents, there are clips with her oversinging. Riffing and running for the sake of doing so. That is not the case with Faouzia. Knowledge of music theory from the multiple instruments she plays, probably helped her.
      You love Jailen, but c'mon her musicality is not on Faouzia's level.
      Faouzia has been making changes to riffs and runs she constructed that are already complex yet she still maintains musicality.
      Also, just because many people don't develop the register and thus don't use it as much, it doesn't correspond to it being "least important".
      I really don't get that logic. Falsetto is used by way more people than actual head voice. Plus Speech pathologists and traditional pedagogues actually recognize it as a real register rather than "head voice" which is viewed as the upper part of modal voice by them, but we're not sitting here saying, well it's used a lot so it should have precedence.
      That's like saying barely anyone lands a quadruple axel in ice skating or a produnova in gymnastics so it is least important.

    • @allykelly
      @allykelly  Рік тому +2

      @@GarageStudio7 well the video is gonna come these days I've been trying to get materials from her live streaming on Instagram (wish she'd save them)
      Faouzia has Eb5s indeed but she can also get whiny,squeezed and narrow on these area not sure if it's stylistic
      Yes faouzia has better musicality jailen barely has her own songs.
      But i don't recall jailen having a bad run, her extra runs are just her having fun behind the stage
      Jailen has enough of good C6s as I've found it's just that she doesn't utilize it more
      And I've found her clip sustaining G#5/A5 effortlessly
      Whistle is the least important to be because it's not as needed as the other main registers people will worry more about lacking of development in lows,belt,head voice instead of whistle
      Falsetto is basically a breathy, airy version of head voice which is done without proper vocal fold closure so I don't really pay any attention to this part

    hmz... The best vocalist i've heard for the last years (and i've heard aaaaa lot A LOTTTT... tones) are: Dimash Qudaibergen, gotta put him on first place cause what Avery can do this guy can do it in 2 more octaves (or 3?) and i think that's the best male vocalist i've ever heard from point of range/technique.... Avery is in my second position but he shares my favorite pick with Chris Blue - those are my two favs from what i have listen so far from this generation. Not sure from both who have advantage... maybe slightly will go for Avery but still can't be 100% sure. Next in my list in no particular order are Avery's pal Stevie Mackey... (i calling him vocal magician and i'm not sure why he is not at the second spot with the other two), DeAndre Nico (dude can sing the .... out of any song). There is a bunch of young lads i've heard nailing songs of Whitney, Mariah, Sia, Adele and they are phenomenal but i'm the most impressed by this names i mentioned up there. In general my fav singers are Charlie Wilson and Bruno Mars + honourably will mention Luther Vandross and James JT Taylor. Two singers that sound different than everyone else and that brought me goosebumps over the years and no matter i never being a real die hard fan in a matter of knowing their whole discography i always being amazed from their magical voices.
