This is how we Arabs draw our eyeliner and apply our eye shadow, always trying to achieve that 'almond look' eye, that's why what she's describing is literally the Arab cat eye look or what's known as foxy eye makeup in the west.
The foxy eye makeup of the west is totally reminding me of 60’s. As a kibbe Soft Classic I look best like this!(: glad to be a nostalgic babe I feel lucky even though it can be hard!

I have hooded upturned, almond shape eyes. The best way to accentuate almond shape or to make any eye shape more almond like/narrow/sultry is smokey eye technique which can be adapted to day look with right amount of product, right shades and placement. The essential is to smoke up your low water line (it's up to you to figure out what looks best on you - smoking the whole water line, just inner or outer corner or just the middle) and not to blend shadow/liner below low lash line too much or at all. The lower/thicker you blend the shadow below your lower lashes, more rounded your eyes will look and more saggy, droopy if you are ageing or having downturn eye shape. So, keep the space below your lower lushes clean or keep your shadow as close to lushes as possible and smoke your waterline (you can do underlining on your upper waterline as well). For more natural make up look that emphasizes almond shape, just simple eyeliner/pencil line on upper lash line (Ali explained it well), feline flick. You can do feline flick liner and still smoke lower water line, but be careful not to make it too harsh.
@@subikunja4964 Technique wise - keep it less dramatic than evening version. In general, depending on your eyes and preferences, softer colors and thinner lines. I like to smoke my lines, smudge them a bit to soft the edges and make them more natural and less dramatic. You can use dark eye shadow and flat brush to create a line if you prefer soft look. If you opt for feline flick, keep it also on a smaller side, more natural. I do very short flick, almost just following my eye shape with tiny, upward extension. Colour wise - I like brownish or taupe liner, perhaps bronze or copper depending on occasion (my eyes are dark blue). Hope this helps! XO

Aly, I am a Soft Gamine and I really want to have long hair but according to David Kibbe longer hair tends to drag down the look of Soft Gamines. Do you have any suggestions how to make longer hair work for us?
You could get a shaggy haircut or even a modern mullet. Both haircuts have lots of layers and the fullest part (and the focal point) is at the top of the head. You can have the medium to long length at the bottom but it will never look heavy.
Have you had long hair in the past and liked it? The Kibbe rules are pretty general, and while they're a good starting place they don't have to be followed exactly! Aly's mentioned before that Marilyn Monroe's hair color isn't something that would typically be recommended for romantics, but it works well on her. I think a lot of it is just what we're comfortable with.
In past vids Aly had said long hair on soft gamines can create the "mermaid effect" where you literally look like a mermaid if you have long hair down your back! Besides that i agree that layers help keep soft gaming's looking youthful. Also you can choose a style where your hair points in multiple directions, if that makes sense. Generally a uniform direction for the hair is too plain on gamines. I feel it can be harder to make long hair change directions so maybe that's partly the reason it's not recommended for soft gamines. Also color, if you create some fading/balayage that emphasizes the hair at the length of your face and above that may help lift your look! I hope Aly can weigh in on your question, as she is the kibbe queen lol
I purposely make mine look a bit more round because they are too almond. I flick the eyeliner at the end so it still emphasises the almond shape but the mascara, the white in the waterline and the darker eyeshadow on the lower lashline really pull the eye open. It's the combo of both makeup for almond and round eyes that works the best on me. With the new fox eye trend on my already very almond eyes, I end up looking asleep lol
I think if you have big eyes you can wear eyeliner on your top and bottom but if you have almond shaped eyes you can only do it on top cat eyes look great too!
Can you do a video about slightly greyish skin undertone? My hair is ashy brown and my eyes are hazel tend to be also to the grey side sometimes. And when I look at myself in the mirror I feel so dull and tired. I am also pretty pale (sometimes people think I am sick or something). I love your videos and I hope you're doing well!

So yea bone structure , flesh , face is all mixed... So I was thinking maybe I'm a pure gamine or maybe flamboyant

The foxy eye trend of the west was called cat eye just 5-10 years ago. Just rebranded by the youngins.
