Atenea al saber las intenciones malignas de su hermano Abel, decide enfrentarlo, ya que su prioridad es proteger a la Tierra y a la humanidad de todo peligro, incluso si eso significa enfrentarse con su propio hermano. A esto, Abel responde decepcionado y al verse atacado, responde con una ráfaga de luz que termina con la vida de Saori Kido, Atenea. En ese momento, Shura de Capricornio y Camus de Acuario al sentir que el cosmos de Atenea desaparece, se lanzan contra a Abel; pero son vencidos por los Santos de la Corona. Abel lleva el cuerpo de Atenea hacia un mausoleo. Los Santos de Bronze perciben también este evento. En diferentes escenas se pueden observar sus reacciones.
Al igual que "Deucalion's Deluge" y otras piezas, "Athena's Death" se podría definir como balada, ya que es de tiempo lento y se destacan tintes románticos. Secondary theme composed for the third anime-inspired film 聖闘士星矢 (Saint Seiya): 聖闘士星矢 真紅の少年伝説 (Saint Seiya: Shinku no Shōnen Sensetsu, released in 1989.
Knowing the evil intentions of her brother Abel, Athena decides to confront him, since her priority is to protect the Earth and humanity from all danger, even if that means confronting her own brother. To this Abel responds disappointed and when he is attacked, he responds with a blast of light that ends the life of Saori Kido, Athena. At that moment, Capricorn Shura and Aquarius Camus, feeling that Athena's cosmos is disappearing, throw themselves against Abel; but they are defeated by the Corona Saints. Abel carries Athena's body to a mausoleum. The Bronze Saints also perceive this event. In different scenes their reactions are seen.
Like "Deucalion's Deluge" and other pieces, "Athena's Death" could be defined as a ballad, since it is of slow tempo and romantic overtones stand out. Likewise, the orchestra (the string section is the majority) is a great reference in this genre of music that was born in the United States in the 1920s.
