I can't think of too many pedals that go for a classic Magnatone simulation. The Magnatone Super 59 M80 is a mighty amp, but may be beyond some people's means. Enter the Tubesteader Magnezium, a 2 x 12AX7, two channel pedal that does a fine job of parking up next to the Gibbons-favoured Magnatone and gives you both preamp and standard overdrive capabilities as well. My personal preference is to jack it straight to a power amp or IR (as you'll hear here) but it does a very fine job of being an elaborate overdrive pedal in a standard amp configuration as well. Each channel, blue and red, features its own Gain, Treble, Bass, Mids and Volume control and there's a handy extension footswitch input on the side for remote channel switching, as well as the preamp/overdrive attenuation toggle to help you tailor the pedal to just about any given host. And the sound? Stellar! The Magnezium is handbuilt in Canada by Tubesteader and the build quality is so tough I have no doubt it will long outlive you and I. Rock on. Good stuff.

This one is definitely on my short list! I have both a Beekeeper and Sunkeeper, and they are great "amp in box" pedals. With a good,neutral clean sound, these pedals take over your front end,(good thing!) I always have this video on my list, I want one so bad and love Brett's playing!

Sweet chops there brother! I had been eyeballin' the Friedman IRX and as good as it is, I think the Magnesium is more what I'm looking for. I liked the cleans I heard there for a minute. I know clean isn't its biggest selling point, but a fat clean speaks to me. Cheers!

Hey Brett, hello from US! Olly definitely builds great stuff. I love the Lightkeeper, and I have a Mag being built now. Can you share what you were using when you ran direct into the Fractal? Was it a clean amp model, IR only, etc ? I'm planning to pair mine with an HX Stomp for now.
Can you put this bad boy in front of an amp, or is an effects loop the best?
The Magnezium can work either in front of an amp or into FX-return. Which way will sound better will significantly depend on your rig.
Why isn't automatic translation working in all your videos?
I have no idea. I've tried to navigate that feature but am having zero luck. If anyone out there can direct me to the right buttons to push it would be appreciated.

I prefer the Lightkeeper. It's a bit simpler, cleaner and only has one tube, but it's like a slap of cold water in the face on a spring mornin'.🤪
I have the Beekeeper. It is a super great pedal. Different sound though. I like it for some cutting ,glassy blues tones. Lots of gain on tap, but it can get a little squishy near the top of its gain range. Keep the gain between 1:00 and 2:00 though with some boost fom the clean side (cascading channels) and your in medium to high gain heaven
