I was just there for five days and I stayed in the Tower Premium. I also stayed there last year for five days. I loved it that much that it is my fav place to stay and gamble. The staff are very nice and they treat you like family. Play awhile and earn some good comps. One thing I loved the most was playing Video Poker at the bar that is across from the check in station. Me and the bartenders talked nonstop and shared crazy Vegas stories. I also never had an empty glass as they made sure I had a drink. Props to them! Nice video!
😊😊😊love the El Co. I only rent their original 47 rooms. Siegels 41 prime rib special at $19.95 is one of the best value for quality and quantity in town. Love the ride back to the airport. 😊😊😊
Nice, review. Subscribed. I love the El Cortez and the Tower rooms are much nicer, especially if you get a King (End of hall, corner rooms). How about a Plaza review next? I tend to stay at the Plaza since they comp well and always like seeing reviews of my favorite casino in Las Vegas.
Glad to have you aboard! I can't wait to check out the tower rooms next! Funny you mention Plaza - We'll have a review out in the next couple weeks on it. Just stayed there for the first time ever, but like you, I LOVE their casino and ancilary attractions. Spoiler Alert though: Just wasn't jazzed about my hotel experience... More to come.
I love the aqua colors of those rooms but having to carry luggage up and down steps would be a deal breaker in itself. We've stayed in the tower three times. They're spacious, have little nooks for sitting and storage, and have always been very clean. It would be no problem to stay in a tower room for a week.
I'd be willing to bet an employee would help you get situated if you ever wanted to give them a shot! That being said, I'm really excited to check out ElCo's tower rooms next. Have you ever tried the Cabana Suites? Not fancy, but quiet and pretty solid for the price.
El Cortez has somewhat low-key really been stepping their game up to become a hip people's champ while still retaining its vintage charm. I think it's easy for many to overlook this especially with Plaza's resurgence last year following their extensive renovations, but El Cortez is charming (and that's not an adjective I can apply to all downtown vintage casinos in general with a straight face) 🙂 Personally I even like El Cortez's rooms in their current state more than Golden Nugget's, even though I consider Golden Nugget neck-to-neck with Circa as Best Fremont Street Resort otherwise. Even despite a pool, El Cortez's value is rivaled by few. 🙂
I have always been intrigued by those rooms. Way better than I imagined, awesome review!!I always wonder why hotels don't repair what seems a very simple fix like the overflow cover as I've seen that nurrnerous times in hotels. When they had live Keno my Aunt could sit there all day and I enjoyed the slots . Definitely want to stay there now .
Thanks! As for the "quick fixes"... for all I know, that was damaged by the previous guest and there was a maintainence ticket pending to address it. Judging by the stellar condition of the rest of the room, I wouldn't doubt it's already fixed up.
I got a story bout this place . I was staying nearby and i ordered a togo at the restaurant. I went to pay at the restaurant for 140$ in food and the women would not take my cash because it was wet from swimming. She wanted me to go to the cashier and exchange it . F that they can keep the food and not get paid for it . I went down the street paid 25 for a beef dip . On my way back i had to walk through the Cortez so i put 100$ in a poker machine i hit 4 A playing Max bets . I punched the ticket and took it straight to the cage collected the money . As i was walking back i felt kinda blessed in a strange way this stuff is actually normal to me. So a down on his luck homelesss person was just laying by the hotel the downtown boutique he asked me for water so i gave him my Pepsi and half my sandwich and went back to my room .
I stayed there, in the little outer building across the street in the back. Was shocked, the AC would get room into the 60s, even though the high Temps outside was 118. The water was really hot, and room was clean. I thought I would hate it, but I would go back. Very helpful staff was really impressive too. Generally basic rooms, but all the important details were really good.
@StalkingTheStrip Yes. Thanks for the nice video. I had same experiences you did, even though I wasn't in the original 47. Just found your channel, too. The staff taking quality time with questions was really good.
Woah. I just had to re-watch and caught that too... No idea. But we use this "AI" feature in our video editor to make my hoarse voice a little more crisp. Looks like it jumbled it up, which is annoying.
I enjoy the tower suites. I don’t want to go up and down the stairs. I also thought I had a key and needed to show the bracelet to get in the elevator. It can be pretty hardcore there - I’ve seen some strange stuff on the casino floor, it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. Also there’s a weird smell in the casino which can be overpowering, I’ve been told it’s sandalwood but it smells like something else.

I'll have to post up at that bar next time I'm in! Nothing beats that type of service. It's what makes a random resort a guy's "home base" forever.
I am always amazed at how much information and depth you put in your videos. Keep doing what your're doing.
Really appreciate it!
Love the El Cortez… lots of history there… nice to see them keeping it alive..
Even won a 3K slot jackpot…🤪

It's certainly growing on me as well. Found the Cabana Suites to be a solid value as well. Excited to try the tower!
Very helpful (planning to stay there after this upcoming trip at the Horseshoe). I learned at least three things I didn’t know by watching this.
That's the goal! Thanks!
You nailed it! Thank you

Good point about the quick fixes 😊
El Cortez is ran amazing and have incredible customer service... but the casino has a rough crowd weekend nights, so be careful.
Fortunately, they employ a small army of security folks.

Seems like a mom and pop joint. The key band would drive me crazy.
It’s a great spot. Not sure what they were thinking on the wristband thing. It’s a hotel, not a music festival, lol.
I wish you would have shown the view out of the window,No matter what it was.
