In ours it shows Handed In, Assigned, Returned. I mark, give feedback and return to students so that I can see who has handed in work and needs it checked. If I don't return it, I have to delve through those who have done it and handed it in and those who have done it and I have seen. There is no option for Done/Not Done. Why does it look different? I wish there was a clear way to file it away as having been checked and completed. Because at our school, we do all seem to be doing it differently. But I don't want to waste time looking back through the work I've already seen and marked. The beauty of returning the work after grading it is that under "Marks", I can see who has a tick against their work or a grade, showing that it has been seen and marked. Otherwise it shows up as handed in or missing.

Thank you for making this video. You explain very well; clear & concise. I am now teaching online due to COVID (as are many others). I like your hint of asking the student to put his/her name in the title of the doc before handing it in.
What did you do between 2:20 (“I did my task”) to 2:28 when you moved from the blue screen (the assignment) to the purple screen? Did you click SHARE in the upper right corner? I don’t know how you moved from one screen to the other. Many thanks

Glad it was helpful! What you could not see on the screen was me switching between tabs. I had the classroom open on one tab and the template sent to me as a student in the other. Switching back to the classroom tab allows me to then hand in the completed work. Hope that helps?

On the very first assignment I set as a trial, I received the student's answers back OK, but the actual questions were missing. How can I ensure the questions are printed with the answers?

Is that really marking and assignment though? You're just taking a look at it and making a comment.. Do you have a videoo where it explains, say something simple like a mark of 2 if complete, 1 if incomplete and 0 if late or not returned?

Yes there is. Google have recently added the rubric feature to Google Classroom and this allows you to set those kind of mark scales. This feature was not available when I made this tutorial, I will put that on my to do list to include this new feature.

Is there a way to implement an answer range into Google Forms? For example, if the answer is 15.5, I want to accept answers between 15.2 - 15.7. Thanks a lot.

      Add multiple answer 15.2 , 15.3 , 15.4 , 15.5, 15.6, 15.7

I return work to students even if it's okay - because otherwise how do you tell what you've already looked at?
