- This video explains the operation of the quasi-resonant (QR) flyback converter. The operation of the converter during the off state is analyzed in detail to obtain the voltage across the switch. The output voltage and switching frequency in QR mode are also calculated. An example of simulation is Qspice is also shown.
Simulation files are available here: github.com/marcosalonsoelectronics/PE-82
Thank you Professeur Alonso for another great video.
Thank you very much for your support!
Thank you, Professor, for detailed presentation, could you kindly share the simulation file?
Yes, it will be available on github soon, thanks
Please Professeur, could you do the Monte Carlo Analysis or the EVA on the output voltage of thecircuit you just analyzed.
Thanks for this interesting suggestion
Thank you ,Professor, By the way How do I create a circuit that detects valley and transmits the signal from the secondary to the primary?
The common solution is to add a auxiliary winding to generate an isolated voltage that can be referred to the primary side using the same ground
Could you please make a video on when to use CCM mode and DCM mode of flyback converter and their magnetics design
Usually CCM is better because of the lower peak and rms current values that will generate lower switching and conduction losses and lower magnetic losses. We use DCM when there is some advantage as power factor correction for example. QR flyback is mainly used in grid applications to provide high power factor and good efficiency
