    For those interested in who I am you can find below a short presentation.
    My name is Daniel, I am an electronic engineer who started from some time to work with wood. Wood was a passion of mine since my childhood when I grew with my uncle who was a woodworker.
    When I was about 35 I bought a CNC machine and made several things with it.
    Working with wood I needed some cutting tools so I had to buy hand planes and chisels. They needed to be sharpened so I have discovered whetstones and I have another passion now: sharpening. I like sharpening and I discover how relaxing is to sharpen a kitchen knife. I am not a specialist, I am a self though from what I read and from other people movies.
    On my channel you can find movies with what I do in my workshop: sharpening, some woodworking, repairing things and whatever I have to do and I consider it might be interesting for you.
    I am sure that you don’t like all my movies. There is no problem, it is normal. :) If you would like to tell me your opinions please be civilized. :) But I hope that you like them at list 99.99%. :)
    Thank you for watching and as I already told you in the movie please support me with a like, comment, share, subscribe, etc. Any of them are important to me.

    I bought this stone for half normal price. My first water stone; I usually sharpen with diamond hones. Very soft; be careful to use very light pressure. This stone (for me) will take some getting use to.

    I have that exact stone. The 6000 does need a nagura stone to clean it. Good for the price.

    I've had this stone for a few years now and it is quite good. I'm interested in trying the shapton 8000, and the 30000 next.

      I'm interested in the shapton 8k too but I didn't see the need to buy it. I already have 3 other 8k stones from other manufacturers. The 30k is way too expensive for me. :)

    Could I use a DMT stone to flatten and clean this King stone?

    Was this knife super dull? It seems like you had to put in a lot of work to ge it sharp on the 1000 grit.

    Hello. I want to combination whetstone. But I can't decided which one cerax 1000/6000 or king kds 1000/6000

    • @DanielWorkshop
      @DanielWorkshop  2 роки тому +2

      Cerax is a little softer and king kds is a little harder. I have already tested the cerax 1000/6000 and you can find it in my video. Kds review and testing will be presented in my future video.

      Naniwa lobster 1000 and the traditional 1000 are good stones and not very price.

      Shapton 1000. It's orange I do believe. Is my favorite stone by far.. I have the 320, 1000 and 5000 but the 1000 is my most used. Hard as heck too, way better than my king 1000/6000

    Quick advice please Mr Daniel, if the Kingstone has a small chip on one of the sides, do you say stick it the small piece back with epoxy/ superglue.
    Or do you say leave it and move on?

    • @DanielWorkshop
      @DanielWorkshop  2 роки тому +3

      If it is small I would leave it as it is. I have some chips on my stones and I don't mind them at all.

  • @carrotpotato0

    It is important to clean the 6000 side? Is my first stone and I don't have a secondary stone for cleaning as you do

    • @DanielWorkshop
      @DanielWorkshop  9 місяців тому +2

      Yes. It would be better to keep it clean.
