I love the studio version of this song. It's definitely one of the coolest tunes ever. This version of it is awesome too. I enjoy what sounds like a slower grungier sound to it. The vocals come through clearer too.
the quine tapes have the most awesome versions of this song as well as some others. its by far the most rad vu jam session, please check it out if your a fan!!!!!!!!!!!! the quine tapes.. ;*)
I can't believe I never knew this take existed. I thought I new every VU track. This is a whole new world of Ray. P.S. just found out suicide covers this song. Punk.
excellent live version...but the studio version has more consistent snap to the drum hits, a slightly faster pace...and viewed from 42 years hindsight, the studio version is a textbook 17-minute play-along lesson on almost every element of '70s punk you'd ever need.
It's psycedelic-punk ... I love it!❤
This band had it going on
R.I.P. Lou. Always be missed. Never forgotten.

They never ever the same way twice on songs
Mick Jagger and Keith Richards always said that this and "Heroin" inspired "Stray Cat Blues"...and now, I think they were telling the truth.
I think I read that they played this gem live sometimes in excess of 50 minutes. Hell, I wouldn't have gotten bored.
very good sound of this version of Sister Ray. Thanks for post it!!! V.U forever!!!
Pure perfection
Tengo el disco y ademas firmado por Lou en Barcelona Fantastico
wish i could give it more than one thumbs up.

I'm missing the organ part from the record. I think that really makes it.

Man, I can hit it sideways. Lou mustve just been a chipper. My ex could hit her neck with the needle going the other way though, that shit is scary.
I haven't got the time time.
