Only time will tell if this deal was a good one. The only upside is that Towns is a bigger body down low. Great line we lost these players that were dogs for a Kat.
Thanks and that is a fact only time will tell. He is a bigger body down low just I heard Kat not wanting to play the 5 confuses me at 7ft bigbody but Randle would so its like so we still dont have a dedicated center
Tibs has to sit him down and listen your our center especially with Robinson being out to start the season. It’s the perfect time to put him in the 5 position and say get comfortable and get that New York crowd behind you because we need to change your whole demeanor in New York step up it’s only your legacy that’s on the line here.
Love Donte but you do realize Kat is a much better 3pt shooter than Donte right? Just look up the stats. Even last year Donte’s best year Kat shot 41.6% from deep to Donte’s 40.1%. Having a shooter like Donte is great for spacing. However, having a sharp shooting big who can put the ball on the floor is MUCH better for spacing. It’s a no brainer.
Kat is a better fit. We can now play 5-out spacing. To say “their numbers are basically the same” when Kat shoots 10 percentage points better from 3pt baffles me. Having a spacing big will pull defenders from the paint creating more space for Brunson to operate. Wolves ran only 44 pick and pops with Kat, he made 26 of them. Imagine the short roll with Brunson but instead of Hartenstein taking the floater it’s Kat, but he can space beyond a floater. Kat shot 48% from the mid range. I don’t think people understand how much having a spacing Center unlocks our offense. Lastly, Wolves relied on Kat to create on offense, Thibs will minimize his role and utilize him more effectively. Go back and look at Kat’s numbers under Thibs when he played center.

Great deal for the Knicks.
lets hope remains to be seen but optimistic going forward.
yeah bro i am conflicted on this trade giving up randle and Divincenzo it stings but only time will tell randle was physical Kat is more finesse
It’s definitely a trade where we have to wait and see.
Kat’s spacing unclogs the lane and enhances Brunson’s ceiling.

Yes I understand but I’m not comparing Donte to Kat.
