Havent commented before, but I'll be honest, one of my first thoughts when this ep finished this morning was, 'Wig watch is going to be great this week!'
That analysis of pity in Tolkien and how it manifests in the show was so beautiful, thank you ❤
Celebrimbor’s morning ritual: the best part of waking up is Sauron in your cup.
Sorry, I couldn’t help it.
I’d like to point out that these two begged for more people on horses…that blood is on their hands now. Also, lets not slut shame Galadriel for getting with every man in Middle Earth lol
Thanks for bringing up my book! That 's very kind. It is indeed a nerdy and academic book, as am I.
Without silver and gold, how were the 9 rings completed???
Re: Sauron getting a new wig.
My guy just loves the immortal words of Hannah Montana (written by Taylor Swift): “You can change your hair and you can change your clothes. You can change your mind, that’s just the way it goes. You can say ‘goodbye’ (our gal Gal) and you can say ‘hello’ (to Celly) but you’ll always find your way back home (Mordor)” 😂
Most impactful and strong episode so far! I am emotionally in shambles
Going to be broken for Elrond for a long time, and I really liked when Celebrimbor called Sauron out on his delusion.
That kiss gave zero romance so I’m having g a heard time with why everyone thought it was so egregious. Like it for sure felt like watching two cousins kissing, but for the sake of subterfuge to give Galadriel a means of escape 🤷🏼♀️ There was love in the scene because they are friends who care deeply about one another. But it wasn’t gross or like oooooh romance out of no where (in my opinion anyway)
Also, I always eagerly await for these videos to drop. Love the care and fun you guys always have with the show.
Its more so that the decision was absolutely baffling. Elrond could have done a hundred other things to give her that thing (an Orc is literally looking towards his hand when he gives it to her lol) but the writers chose to have them kiss. Its just unnecessarily makes them both weird
The risk reward balance of this choice is very uneven. Clumsy writing at best...
This episode was awesome 💯
Weird kiss!
Like of all people why lmfao
@48:25 the word for that type of love comes from the Greek: AgapÉ. It's brotherly love. It's the bond of fellowship.
Love can have that depth without it being romantic lol.
If you watch the ending thing they do at the end of each episode the showrunners state that the siege has been going on for weeks. So not hours.
If only they'd found some way to communicate the passage of time on screen instead of in an interview. XD
you nailed why the kiss felt earned, even though i'm hard on the Galadriel x Sauron camp. it felt emotional, a goodbye and an unknowable forgiveness, plus the tactical end
it was probably the cringiest scene in this show full of cringe.
Galadriel x Sauron camp? Wtf? Do you care about the source material at all?
Was Nenya healing Adar of his cottage-cheese face? I swear he looked a little less pock-marked and little more rosy at the episode's end. I think he even had a little golden highlight in his hair.
You guys are great. Thanks for doing this
Celebrimbor crying is so sad
My favorite episode 🎉🎉🎉 except the kiss was weird lol otherwise it was so good
This episode was really cool! One of my favorite episodes of the entire show!
I cried, I gasped, Mal, Jo ... I LOVED it
The kiss was gross and wrong and soooo not Tolkien
Only 2 hours, a short one 😂

Screw the lore, let Galadriel and Elrond kiss. Hot Take: We need more Hero/Hero Ships and less Hero/Villain Ships
You do realize in the actual lote Elrond is the son in law of Galadriel. She is married Celeborn who is not dead or ever died in the books. Galadriel had a daughter, Celebrian, who marries Elrond. The is the mother of Arwen, explain how everything can still work canonially.
@@elmojon19 Who cares about "canonially" [sic] ? Peter Jackson did not. And the RoP should not also. Adaptations should, must, make changes.
I understand the reason for it but the fact that Galadriel has spent a full season sizzling with Sauron and we've been waiting 2 seasons for Celeborn... only for the only time we see her kiss someone in the show to be with ELROND??? I want to rip my hair out a little bit lol
that was to distract the orcs while Elrond passed a lockpick or key to her with his hands
I know the logical reason for it! But the writers wrote them into that situation, and so wanted to see them kiss for dramatic purposes. @eddierusset
@@eddierusset It really wasn't for passing a broach or romance or any of those other things.
The kiss was sensationalism. It was there to generate interest. XD
It was a great episode, but that very stupid kiss ruined it. Should have just been on her forehead and then I'd say this episode was great. They keep having these little poorly done moments that just make the episodes feel cheap or just straight up confusing. Then moments later they have the Celebrimbor speech about light instead of strength to Galadriel that was amazing and can be a powerful turning point for her character. It is so up and down. I have defended this show a lot and still really enjoy most of it, but that kiss and the coming Gandalf reveal is really testing my ability to be accepting of their story adaptations.
Did you perhaps miss that it wasn't romantic, it was an intentionally melodramatic performance for the sake of slipping her the lock pick?
@@maxsilva11 did you perhaps miss that you can clearly see elrond slipping galadriel the pin while all the orcs standing around are staring right at them? the writing in this show is indefensible.
Keep on grasping at the straws.
