Hear a fabulous new song from the Broadway musical written by Gary Barlow and Eliot Kennedy featuring stars Matthew Morrison (GLEE) and Laura Michelle Kelly (MARY POPPINS). Director: Diane Paulus /
Choreographer: Mia Michaels
The person who's playing the dog is honestly my favorite part of this. I wish that they kept it like that instead of getting a real dog. But it is what it is
Aidan had such a majestic voice for his age here. Shocks me every time. He's an angel, and he's so underrated and sweet.
The fact this show didn't get nominated for any Tony Awards makes me sad!
Matthew is a great dancer and his cherography in this is so charming.
the perfect choreography with the ensemble music is just amazing
Sawyer Nunes is always amazing.
Sawyer's spins and jumps give me life😂
To everyone saying that Matthew Morrison is new to the role, he was actually involved in the workshop before Jeremy Jordan did the ART production. Take from that what you will. (Even though I do think Morrison is doing a great job so far.)
Mathew Morrison is so suave and has a particular charm to his performance. The choreography is very lively and smooth. This song is very catchy. I wish i could see this
i am obsessed with the kid in the red shirt. he is all kinds of fantastic
His name is Sawyer! He was a swing in Matilda the musical too! He is amazing! I was very Lucky that I saw Sawyer as Bruce in Matilda!
Yeah, I saw Sawyer as Bruce on Broadway too! He is so great
He is!!!
I had the opportunity to meet him during his run at Finding Neverland when it first opened. He's such a sweetheart and completely down to earth.
+msmoodlexxx Sawyer is amazing! I'm so sad that he had to leave though ;(
Holy crap, the guy playing the dog looks like an actual Disney Animated Cartoon dog. That freaks me out.
He’s so good!
I love matthew Morrison x
I love matts spin at 2:02 he does that amazing well
I am looking to get tickets right now!!! I want to see this so bad!!!
This show is my new favorite. It made me cry! I need the cast album now!
A wonderful number, I’ve watched it 20-25 times and saw it in New York. My favorite is the the dog but it was a real dog on stage. I preferred the actor.
I loved it, the staging/ choreography is great. I agree, I was disappointed it was a real dog. The actor did such a wonderful job.
The music reminds me of anything can happen I loved that song when I was in in Mary poppins
Seeing the morning light pouring in the widows knowing this is their day job and they’ve made it just feels so right. Dreams.
I saw him in this about a week ago and he was phenomenal. It was so beautifully executed, and is now by far one of my favorite shows.
How charming! And how great to have Matthew M. back on Broadway, and in a lead role in a new musical! It looks like it's really using a lot of his plentiful talents and abilities.
So many musicals on Broadway, or on their ways, that I'd love to see. HONEYMOON IN VEGAS (sadly, not selling nearly enough, but the score is so much fun, and it looks to me like the show might well be too); ON THE TOWN; AN AMERICAN IN PARIS (swoon); IT SHOULDA BEEN YOU; ON THE 20th CENTURY; FUN HOME (I'm a big fan of Alison Bechdel, Jeanine Tesori, Judy Kuhn, Michael Cerveris, all the performers on the ocr, the score, the source memoir as well as DTWOF, from way back); SOMETHING ROTTEN (What a cast! Anything with Brian d'Arcy-James! And Christian Borle, and Brooks Ashmanskas, and Peter Bartlett, Brad Oscar, Heidi Blickenstaff, Kate Reinders; GIGI (not as thrilled about that one, but maybe they'll win me over - oh, and I just remembered that Victoria Clark is in it, so I'm a little more thrilled); THE KING & I (apparently not going so well, but maybe they'll pull it together; and HAMILTON (counts as next season, but sounds fantastic). Seems like a very good season for dancers, especially ballet dancers! Now, if they'll only bring in LITTLE DANCER!
It's so funny to see just how much changed between rehearsal and the opening of the show, including Matthew's accent haha
This show looks amazing!!
I love Finding Neverland. This is my Favorite Musical to watch❤️
I saw this last week and watched it ever since. I really wanted to see it but I'm from the UK😕. I love performing arts but I'm not good at it and that's where I found this video. (From my performing arts classes) I've still got 3 years left at school but I am going to choose college and hopefully get into Canterbury college witch is basically performing arts . Dance, singing and drama is my life
It's coming to the uk next year. The Oxford playhouse in Oxford. The auditions are in January I think. Open to anyone :D
Love the choreography.
Mia Michaels is a genius
This seems such a beautiful musical. I wish I could see it, but unfortunately I live in Holland...
They need to do a behind the scenes blog for this with one of the younger boys vlogging or Laura would be awesome!!!!
Charmed Beauty I was so excited when I saw the vlog!!!!!!(Never Grow Up)
This is my favourite musical ever this is amazing so I have this on my alarm clock song to wake me up it always make you happy 😀
I listen to this song everyday on my way to work! 😀
LauraLou1115 me too
Just watched this yesterday
this looks so good!!!!!!!!!!1!!!!!!!
Ugh! I literally cannot take my eyes off Colin Cunliffe, that's how massive his magic is!
OUTSTANDING!
Even though I personally like Jeremy as James a bit more overall, you gotta admit that Matthew is very smooth when it comes to dancing. Now what a lot of people I feel are forgetting to mention is that the choreo I different than the art production, so I thank Jeremy could as been as smooth with this choreo
I saw Jeremy Jordan perform this song, but I honestly like Matthew Morrison better, be just brings a more confident and mature presence to the part.
veeeeeery niceeeeeee
OMG MELANIE MOORE YAS
Thank u camp for getting me into this show
I like how every gesture is choreographed. Like Aidan folding arms, leaning back partway then all the way on count. It must be hard to learn.
I love Matt and Jeremy to no end. Jeremy did a great job, but this role belongs to Matthew Morrison. There are no ifs and or buts about it now that I have seen this. (I still like how Jeremy sings Stronger better than Matthew tbh)
I think stronger is what everyone is using to judge and compare the two is why the divide is so strong.
Ginny Weasley I agree...Stronger is kind of different than most of the other songs in the show...Jeremy's powerful voice lends itself to that song...but Matthew's smooth voice is better suited to the other songs imo. When he and Aidan Gemme (Peter) sang WYFDTTG together it was just so beautiful
I'm playing as Michael in a school play :)
I know who i gonna steal the scene in this number :)
Dog
Here's lyrics: (HELP ME D: : there's one line wrong, I marked it with // )
You see it all around us
In every single color
And every dimension
Crowns the reinvention
And if it is black then it’s white
And when it is dark then it’s light
So fill in all the spaces
With imaginary places
It’s so frustrating
When no one else sees
Everything you see
So from now it is just an illusion confusion
Unless you’re someone who believes
When you look tell me what do you see
Is it real, is it fiction, only make-believe
You act like you really don’t care
But look with your eyes: it’s a great Russian bear
And he’s dancing and prancing
And bowing politely
He plays the full houses
Once daily, twice nightly
Prefix ordinary with extra
You’ll see
Believe, believe, believe
I don’t need Nome King’s exspectacles
Just to see the fundamentals
I only see the bright lights
The sunset and the sunrise
And if it is weak then it’s strong
And just when it’s right then it’s wrong
And everything my eyes see
Is nothing like it should be
It’s so frustrating
When no one else sees
Everything you see
So from now it is just an illusion confusion
Unless you’re someone who believes
When you look tell me what do you see
Is it real, is it fiction, only make-believe
You may think you’re safe on the path
But the rest is the water that’s rising too fast
And now Kensington park is the biggest lagoon
And this bench is a rock
//And we’ve got balloons here
Hear the mermaids sing their beautiful song
[instrumental]
When you look tell me what do you see
Is it real, or a mystery scientifically
It’s more than a bench in a park, look again
It’s a rocket that’s headed for Mars on a
Mission in search for new life
When we’ll be back who knows
‘Cause it’s really a long flight
Turn the whole world upside-down and you’ll see
Believe, believe, believe
In just imagination
And creative speculation
Our life’s calling
Is never meant to be boring
Believe, believe, believe, believe
Believe, believe, believe, believe
Believe
I think it is
And we’re the on the roots here!
I searched up the lyrics...
Who doesn’t love that 007 tune.
Mr Schuester and Blaine are in Broadway right now. We're still waiting for some couple from Spring Awakening... Jesse St James and Rachel Berry should return to Broadway NOW!!
The boy in the red/maroon shirt is cute
I'm with you ☺️ x
SAWYER!!! He is my Broadway bae, I really want to meet him. He is also only a few months older than me. But it's just a dream.
The Olive Tree he is younger than me 😏 by seven months.
Let's just talk about Christopher Paul over there, TOTAL BABE
And none of you guys remember seth erdley!??! Hes the cutest!
🎼🎵Oh it's a jolly holiday with...🎼🎵
Wait what?
Why did they swap the 'person dog' for a real dog?
Depends on the performance. Sometimes they have a dog. Sometimes they have a person.
what is it about?
Sounds lovely!
cool
Cool that really inspired James Matthew barrie’s Peter Pan story
The boy in dark blue is that Aidan Gemme
Eleanor Hunt yes
Eleanor Hunt indeed
Yes..
To bad critics hate it
jessica vosk
From what I've seen (though tbh I haven't seen very much) I gotta say Matt is better in this role than Jeremy (and I'm a HUGE Jeremy Jordan fan) But then again, I don't think Matt would be the best Jack Kelly...
Also Matts voice is smoother than Jeremy's powerful voice, which I feel adds to the magic
what do they say at 2:37?
Rebecca Aiello and were all around you
I need to know the dog-guy name. Someone know?
This is WILD to hear Matt do this without an accent
After watching this over and over again because I liked it so much I was very disappointed to go to the show and find that there was a real dog. I thought the actor should’ve been used in the show, I think it was a mistake to take him out. Perhaps Matthew felt that the actor was getting too much attention. That sort of thing happens I think, too bad for the guy that loses his part. He was so good and so entertaining.
I think both Matthew and Jeremy brought their own little things to the play. Matthew is able to offer a more mature take on J. M. Barrie, but I have to say that Jeremy has the better voice.
Kelsey Grammer looks tired in the background.
where is Jeremy Jordan! :(
replaced, thank goodness
There’s very much of a lack of people breaking out in song in my life
Choreography in Boston with Jeremy Jordan was far better than this. Please Please let Matthew learn the steps!!!
gabrielle13461 his dancing is amazing
This is also during rehearsals...
I'm not critisizing the dance-and sing abilities of Matthew Morrison. Absolutely not. I like him too. I'm only talking about the choreografy of the song. In Boston there were different dance moves of the cast. Just look for some UA-cam clips of finding neverland A.R.T. with Jeremy Jordan.
I think they are fuller and more realised
gabrielle13461 You are comparing a finished product with something being done in a rehearsal - I am sure he will learn the steps he is taught. Why wouldn't he? If it's different than you saw in Boston, then they changed the choreography and it has nothing to do with him learning it.
Jeremy Jordan was a more likable lead than Matthew Morrison. The latter comes across as somewhat pompous.
So real.
Chris Smart not really I actually think Mr Morrison will get a tony
I think (if the show is as successful as it was in Boston) there will come a time where Jeremy Jordan does a stint as J.M Barrie.
I saw the show on Sunday (3/15/15-first preview night), and not to take anything away from the very talented, Jeremy Jordan, Matthew Morrison was absolutely amazing!!! Came across as very likeable, believable as J.M. Barrie, not pompous at all. I'd be shocked if MM doesn't receive a Tony nomination (can't comment if he'll win as I've not seen any of the new shows to compare).
Virginia Lucci How was the show and Laura. I also know Mat can sing very high he did Light in the Piazza
It’s just great to see the guy pretending to be a dog
They have a real dog now right?
Yes.
+George Chlada Disappointing that's what it is. Props to Colin Cunliffe for being amazing.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Matthew Morrison is an incredibly polished stage actor but he's frustratingly dull. Both his replacements in Light in the Piazza (Aaron Lazar) and South Pacific (Andrew Samonsky) added far more character and depth to their respective roles than Matt . It is because of this -- and because of Jeremy Jordan's sheer, magnetic presence -- that I'm terribly disappointed Jeremy didn't travel with the production to Broadway. I completely understand, from the producing perspective of Harvey Weinstein, why Matt was the more economical choice, but it doesn't lessen my sadness.
Matthew wouldn't have enjoyed a 15 year acting career now of largely musicals for stage and screen if people in the industry though he was " frustratingly dull". Not to mention the shew of major award nominations he has accumulated including Emmy and Tony ones.
I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on this one. I should clarify that I don't find Matthew Morrison a "bad" actor in any sense of the word. When I say he's "frustratingly dull", it's because I find it maddening that an actor so demonstratively competent, technically-speaking (particularly in singing and dancing), can also be so sorely lacking in charisma. In other words, I really, really, REALLY want to like him. Alas, when I watch Matthew Morrison act, all I see is Matthew Morrison acting, not a character that I can feel for. I actually find Jeremy Jordan to be far more raw in his singing and stage presence compared to Matthew; yet, it's that very essence, I would argue, that helps Jeremy embody the childlike nature of J.M. Barrie. Which is why, in the end, I wish Jeremy had transferred with the show to Broadway.
I think this just shows how subjective charisma is. I've always thought Matthew had tons of it, and that Jeremy was the bland one. Different strokes I guess.
Sara McKinney Absolutely! Glad to have such a civil disagreement on this! :-)
Give me the original score anytime with Julian Ovenden singing; This sounds crap
hey glee dude i figure you forgot how this works but its musical theatre, youre not singing for tv. i get you need a mic but you could at least try to add some dynamics and resonance to your voice. pop television has ruined whatever little talent you had
I'm sorry, but what makes you qualified to be judging a extremely talented Broadway alum like Morrison. Are you talking through all your musical theater experience.
Timothy Robert sorry i am speaking purely from opinion. i should've prefaced that. yes i do have musical theatre experience but surely not enough for broadway, but anyone can judge anyone. that's a matter of if anyone chooses to take it offensively or just let someone be. when everyones resonance overpowers a lead, someone ain't doing their job. i get it's a press rehearsal, but it's still performance mode. i had to do a musical without mics and to me that is a testament to someone who can truly handle the stage. i'm not saying i impressed anyone but i did my best, even in rehearsals. he's keeping his voice very personal, especially in profile, but broadway alumni like Morrison should be able to project their voice and make it ring with the proper training, right? that's something nobody can deny. maybe it's a health thing and he's saving it, or maybe he really does need a mic to be heard. in any case, i feel as if his performance is lack luster anyway. hopefully that comes off as less judgey and a little more like discussion.
bamb113r I don't know. I saw him last night. I thought he was great - He is new to the show, compared to many of the others who have had more time to develop their characters, to add nuances to his performance...He already has a nice rapport with his cast mates, especially the boy that played Peter. His accent needed a little more stability but I thought he did really well for a third preview...
Ehh. Dude, as a musical theatre major, I can't say I blame him. The mic on this camera is kinda close to the piano and it is playing fast and quickly cut off notes. Very Clean notes. That being said, this is also clearly a number not meant to be all about the vocals. It's about the magic of whats going on around them. In short, the acting. His Body language is so sharp and fast...I can't help but respect this amazing work. It's something else in my own personal opinion.
P.S. - I still could understand everything he said personally.
P.S.S. - Just to make sure I wasn't being biased because I like his previous work, I got a few of my peers together who ARE NOT very big fans of Matthew Morrison, and even they couldn't deny this was good work.
bamb113r IT IS THE GUY FROM GLEE DIDNT NOTICE THAT
